Yeah a decent stage and Sella with of course that special Red Bull rub has a touch of greatness about him. Actually his best win with us was a great up and down type stage.
He does seem usually the sort of rider who does better early on in a stage race - so great for him to gain time over Rujano/Marquez early on and not to mention a very large gain over everyone else.
Still in the rocky stuff now, one bad day will be telling.

Action packed stage there.
-Sella showing some super form, will he pay for the effort though?
-Nutresa carrying on from last season: it isn't even February and they already have two breakaway wins! Can't rule them out for the PCT title and TDF win (if Beltran races that is!) ..think jph might be on to something there!
-Euskaltel should be over the moon with this race, Bouhanni on crazy form to finish on the podium on stages 1 through 3 and Txurruka riding a better stage there then he did all last season with Bonsucro ... despite downgraded stats ..... |

This one won't be our race for sure...
Sella's got everything on his side to be at the top of the podium. I hope we hold this "4th" position of the big favs of the race and climb some places each day.

Congrats to Grupo Nutresa! Quite a stage for them.
Sad to see the leader jersey go but once again a rider in the breakaway so we really can't complain about this tour so far |

Gotta love this Sella/Iranian thingy. Nice stage, well reported. A few big guns giving us a show, with Della obviously as the big winner for now.
Well, Beltran, too. Of course, you may say. Pretty cool story to see him doing his stuff again.

Great ride there by Txurruka for 2nd on the stage and provisional 2nd in the GC
Hopefully we can continue these attacks in the stages to come.

Happy to be in the break on both stages today! Getting a 3rd and 6th for the hard work is certainly worth while, though not as happy to be losing minutes already to Sella and Rujano.

....... Beltran for all-around awesomeness ...
Funny I wrote the above right before the stage, he must have been listening!
Was great to see Beltran's new national champs jersey on show, almost a shame is now going to be hidden behind yellow .
Along with all his other middle-good stats, keep in mind Beltran does have 73 downhill. I do wonder if he will perhaps become more anonymous when he levels up as he will then be a sub-top leader so have less freedom for breaks (early or mid stage) until he maxes out, then he should be beastly! Think this is the 2nd stage victory he has had from a break on a similar style of stage. Also he was very happy to remind me that he won Nutresa's first ever victory in stage 10 @ Tachira last year, so there is obviously something in the water round these parts that he likes! From an AI perspective, was also good to see the favourites show their faces - doubt they'll underestimate Eduard as much as that again though.
Also pleasing to see Ardila Cano showing face, and Agudelo keeping pace with the main group. Not sure whether we are about to get a repeat of TDU now though, where our stronger leaders sacrifice for their mate in the jersey, and all results get lost in the end - hopefully my mountain guys can show they have a wee bit more grey matter than my puncheurs in balancing protecting the GC lead while still looking to their own longer-term chances.
Finished off 2 out of 3 breaks so far this season, so good to see that Nutresa might not regulalry feature in breaks, but when we do, a good conversion ratio is maintained.
Finally, I'll sign of with passing along Eduard's appreciation for the continued MG love from all and sundry - thanks guys.

I got unbelievably excited when I saw Rodas in the break
Great stage in the end. Thanks for the report. My two climbers are happy to sit in to stay somewhere in the top 25 and I'm okay with that. As long as they drag some points in.

Not the ideal start for us in the Mountains losing lots of time to breaks already, atleast Pantano stayed with the similar rated riders. Although the break werent that strong, Beltran is probably gonna end up winning the race now..
Hopefully we get some agressive racing next besides the top 3 favourites.

Duo still doing well. Aru working for Olivier I like somehow. That said both need to gap Beltran and Txurruka ffs. |

Tachira now going exactly as planned for Azteca! Got our stage win, leading the team competition, and in the top 10 GC. Pretty thrilled with things right now.

Nice to see Rujano trying to do something, but he didn't distance Sella neither Marquez.
Well, still one minute behind, so everything to play for! |

Very nice of Rujano and Nazaret to help Sella into yellow.
Other than that the stage could've gone a bit better for me. I had hoped to see Rodrigues and/or Poorseyedi in one of the chasing groups to maintain their GC top 10. Also I lost the lead in the team classification, which I hope to get back in the coming stages. But well I can't complain, now Sella only needs to ride the lead home. |

I'd actually like to keep that if you don't mind. You can have your GC though.

Nazaret was in the Beltran/Aru group |
