In a month Nibali and Astana will fly up the mountains. I guarantee it! |

What do you mean? Still has to find some form before the TDF. This is totally normal in this race.
Remember Wiggins was the first time since Armstrong to do the Dauphine-Tour double. Totally normal to not be at peak fitness here.
I mean last few years he's beng dropped like a stone nearly every race then come tdf he's a beast

He did the exact same thing last year, he is riding to a plan and once he reaches the power numbers can no longer sustain he drops out and rides his own pace, to me he is setting it up again to peak at the right time

Yeah.
In history, there have been "races" between riders, between teams, sometimes between frame producers (see the hour record etc),
but I think now we have a power struggle going on between 2 kinds of doping. Sky with a long-range doping, effective throughout the entire season!
Astana with peaking doping. In superman shape at the right time!
May the best man win |

Some people are just used to FroomeBot.exe and his doping program that allows him to win all throughout the year like it's nothing.
What Nibali does is more realistic.
Fantastic ride by Bardet. I love that downhill, did it myself a lot, too!
What did Froome win this year already? Not too much...

A rider can+'t be on his peak form in Dauphine and the Tour so Wiggins 2012 and Froome 2013 were unreal.
But being so far behind is not good for Nibali whose form should be much higher.Remember that he was 7th overall on last years Dauphine. He should be staying with Frank,Rolland,Talansky,Meintjes etc. to be in peak form in Le Tour. But the glorious Schleck system will give him the enough form before Le Tour.
By the way, another great result from Meintjes |

Didn't sound to me like that. Since that is 2 years in the past, it doesn't matter today.

Some comparisons of people who have won the TDF and where they came in their pre-Tour preperation (Dauphine/Suisse)
2007 - Contador - 6th Dauphine
2008 - Sastre - 20th Dauphine
2009 - Contador - 3rd Dauphine
2010 - Contador - 2nd Dauphine (revoked)/Schleck - 14th Suisse
2011 - Evans - 2nd Dauphine
2012 - Wiggins - 1st Dauphine
2013 - Froome - 1st Dauphine
2014 - Nibali - 7th Dauphine
So while a high ranking in the Dauphine is good for your chances, Sastre, Schleck, and Nibali all show that you don't necessarily have to be at the absolute top of competition. 2012/13 are obvious anomalies where wins in those races lead to TDF wins.

@Count In 2009 Contador was 3rd in Dauphine behind an immense Valverde and Evans
And Nibali is not even close to his 2014 form |

Nibali may be a greater threat in Tour with his current season planning like in last season, but he has become one of the most underwhelming riders in the process. snooze snooze

Because Froome is also looking worse than 2014 Dauphine. |

I love your phrasing. 'Obvious anomalies' is one of the best definitions I've heard.
