Got a feeling that will end Wiggo's relationship with Team Sky and he will seek pastures new for next season |

Velogames Vuelta is actually open.
I'd make a thread for it, but frankly, I have no idea how to create a room, so someone else could do it

Dan Martin crash count? Anyone got a guess?
Would ask for a bet on it but it would make some people cry

Just updated the first post with all the possible GC-contenders and which races they did in prep.
Either Cav is nót ready at all yet or they believe a lot in Uran, i clearly had expected him here. Movistar has also picked their team which is in heavy support of Quintana and Valverde: Castroviejo, Malori, Jose Herrada, Gorka Izaguirre, Erviti and Amador. Not the best climbing team overall, but I think Herrada and Moreno will be very decent uphill. A team which is very good in the flat/hilly stages as far as I am concerned, but lacks climbers who can split the peloton. Another interesting thing to note is that Moreno got the nod over Antón.
Quintana and Valverde doesnt ride many races together. Quintana is surely the better option here, but Valverde will be there as he always as a thread which could prove valuable. Interesting how that pans out as Valverde almost never has shared those duties in his career - Mancebo was fx. forced out. |

I would take Gesink any day of the week!
At this point, it seems like almost every team has chosen their 9 riders. What's the most interesting about it is Tinkoff has left one spot for tomorrow, possibly for Kreuziger. |

How come Vuelta is so underappreciated. With all the suspense, surprises and heavy line up of all those who have something to prove after a dissapointing season? Like all the time same story - the most interesting GT gets least publicity. |

As I was about to post this, I saw you comment: "Out of the 198 riders that will start the Vuelta, 57 have already made a top20 in a Grand Tour, and 33 have already made a top10."
I have no clue if thats a record or anything like that, but I would imagine it has been one of the most star studded pelotons GC-wise in a long, long time. |

Mybe because winners like Cobo or Horner are somewhat deflating the race?
Also the usual ____________/ profiles and half of the field just training for the WC or just ending the season. But this years lineup should make it all up.

Tinkoff-Saxo for the Vuelta a Espana: Alberto Contador, Chris Anker Sørensen, Daniele Bennati, Matteo Tosatto, Sergio Paulinho, Oliver Zaugg, Ivan Rovny, Jesus Hernandez and Michael Valgren.
Looks like Dauphine tacticts for Bertie if he ends up going for GC.
BMC Racing Team for the Vuelta a España: Rohan Dennis, Cadel Evans, Philippe Gilbert, Steve Morabito, Dominik Nerz, Manuel Quinziato, Samuel Sánchez Gonzalez, Larry Warbasse and Danilo Wyss.
"It’s a little bit scary when Contador attacks." - Tommy V

Nah, there are at least 6-7 better stage racers than anything Garmin has to offer. I can possibly see them having 2 of the 3 in the top-10 (which would be quite a success, I assume) and they would be a good bet for the team competition, but not more than that. Martin seems to me like the best bet as I dont have that much faith into Talansky or Hesjedal. |
