At least Kristoff made it into the top 10, but being beat by Thor Hushovd is just embarrassing

Really? I'd be more worried about being beaten by that great sprinter Valverde. Pfft

Go Thor!! Prove your doubters wrong. Banana

@Cycleman, why no GC? We really would like to see the GC.

It's stayed the same. I'll post it with the next stage though.

Preview

We'll take a bit of a step into boring territory for this game. However, this will finally be a chance for teams to completely focus on their sprint trains.

The Race

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag38/Abbiati123/Album%20For%20Albums/EPIC%20Races/EPIC%202014/PCM0146_zps5e799bb3.jpg
The first break to get away consists of Tankink, Gilbert, Amador and Roy.

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag38/Abbiati123/Album%20For%20Albums/EPIC%20Races/EPIC%202014/PCM0149_zpsd458b31a.jpg
But they get caught, and Rast, Haas and Boaro form the break of the day.

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag38/Abbiati123/Album%20For%20Albums/EPIC%20Races/EPIC%202014/PCM0150_zpsf636636d.jpg
Rast wins the sprint.

Sagan beats the rest of the peloton to 4th. Foreshadowing?

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag38/Abbiati123/Album%20For%20Albums/EPIC%20Races/EPIC%202014/PCM0152_zps92335eea.jpg
The break is caught 6.1km out. A bit later than most sprinters would've liked, and there's not much organisation.

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag38/Abbiati123/Album%20For%20Albums/EPIC%20Races/EPIC%202014/PCM0153_zps5f76ce34.jpg
Argos are the quickest to get set, and the other sprinters are rushing to latch on to Marcel Kittel's wheel.

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag38/Abbiati123/Album%20For%20Albums/EPIC%20Races/EPIC%202014/PCM0154_zps4f340ed9.jpg
As expected Kittel has a great lead. Demare is doing well though.

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag38/Abbiati123/Album%20For%20Albums/EPIC%20Races/EPIC%202014/PCM0155_zps4ed26802.jpg
It looks like it's between those two. Goss and Ferrari are in good positions as well. Sagan is blocked by the Italian.

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag38/Abbiati123/Album%20For%20Albums/EPIC%20Races/EPIC%202014/PCM0156_zps36c7b222.jpg
And Marcel Kittel makes it two in a row. Demare and Goss follow to make the podium. The German is really doing a lot to keep Argos in the World Tour, while also putting large dents in the hopes of Euskaltel and Orica.

At least Sagan is trying... Frown

Would it also be possible to include the points classification in the results? Since there are at least 3 teams who have winning it as a goal

Crap. Further behind than I would have thought. Smile

The final stage before we head up to Ax 3 Domains. Can Marcel Kittel grab a third stage win in a row? Will Andre Greipel fade even further? Let's find out.

The Race

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag38/Abbiati123/Album%20For%20Albums/EPIC%20Races/EPIC%202014/PCM0160_zps0b738e14.jpg
Gasparotto and Roy are the first riders to make a break.

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag38/Abbiati123/Album%20For%20Albums/EPIC%20Races/EPIC%202014/PCM0161_zps1a979f8d.jpg
They are joined by TJ Slagter. Gasparotto takes the first climb.

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag38/Abbiati123/Album%20For%20Albums/EPIC%20Races/EPIC%202014/PCM0162_zpsf987e214.jpg
He also wins the 2nd.

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag38/Abbiati123/Album%20For%20Albums/EPIC%20Races/EPIC%202014/PCM0163_zps0316f2c1.jpg
And the sprint.

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag38/Abbiati123/Album%20For%20Albums/EPIC%20Races/EPIC%202014/PCM0164_zpsf277f252.jpg
Sagan takes 4th at the sprint. Foreshadowing perhaps?

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag38/Abbiati123/Album%20For%20Albums/EPIC%20Races/EPIC%202014/PCM0165_zps7970f4a7.jpg
Oh and Gasparotto takes the final climb.

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag38/Abbiati123/Album%20For%20Albums/EPIC%20Races/EPIC%202014/PCM0166_zps69b1361f.jpg
With 39km Favilli, Brajkovic, Bouhanni and Rogers crash.

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag38/Abbiati123/Album%20For%20Albums/EPIC%20Races/EPIC%202014/PCM0167_zps4bf24781.jpg
Roy has been dropped by the break. Gasparotto is having a blinder, he puts up a strong resistance to the pack.

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag38/Abbiati123/Album%20For%20Albums/EPIC%20Races/EPIC%202014/PCM0168_zps4edbe19c.jpg
But he is caught 6.2km out. Now time for the sprinters to get ready.

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag38/Abbiati123/Album%20For%20Albums/EPIC%20Races/EPIC%202014/PCM0169_zpsd9c91c25.jpg
It's a clutter at the front to say the least. Kittel seems to have the advantage, but it's too close to call. There are 2km to go.

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag38/Abbiati123/Album%20For%20Albums/EPIC%20Races/EPIC%202014/PCM0170_zpse3dc72b0.jpg
As expected it's a mess up the front. Goss has shown some great speed but keeps getting blocked, Boonen is finally up there for Omega, and Greipel is lost again.

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag38/Abbiati123/Album%20For%20Albums/EPIC%20Races/EPIC%202014/PCM0171_zpsbef2db49.jpg
Sagan was the one with the open road, and he took full advantage. A win on the line, and finally Cannondale are on top of the podium.

Bad news for Sky and Belkin as important team members Sergio Henao and Laurens Ten Dam abandon before we even go into the mountains.

Export file didn't work, but luckily I always take a screenshot Smile

Nice victory for Sagan Banana

Too bad Kittel got 2nd so not gaining a lot of points for the green jersey.

sutty68
Nice to see Roberto up at the front again Wink

The Rider
Well that week dragged on forever! Not too much doing for RadioShack, but it was great to see Rast get in one of the break, which is a rarity as breaks in PCM2013/2014 rarely getaway with more than 6 riders.

- Good news for out team classification goal that Henao and Ten Dam abandon.
