I thought Prudhomme and Hinault agreed with Sagan about removing rest days?
Edit: I didnt really know where to put this, so imma put it here. I have been wondering what have been going on what Intxausti. I remember im being a guy capable of going into top-10s in one week races, but I see him losing time more or less every day and I think I dont even have been seeing a glimpse of him in this years Tour. Someone know whats wrong with him?

Only guy to have ever made Tour of Beijing interesting to read about.
But yeah, he's riding way, way below his level, very unfortunate. I wanted to see him at least once or twice in a breakaway.
He had a crash at Dauphine though and was forced to abandon, so that may still play a role. Either way, except for Romandie, his season wasn't good all around, so maybe its an off-year. Hopefully he targets next year the Giro again.

He crashed, so Im guessing he's injured. Pretty sure I saw him attack a few days ago though.

Yeah, he crashed in Dauphine, but was quickly onto Route du Sud and now the Tour and has showed close to nothing. I mean, its not just in the TdF really, its his whole reason apart from a really odd 6th in Romandie. He was ridden way below par, but he clearly has alot more potential than this

How are people still finding it funny Sagan doesn't win a stage?
None of the stage this year ended on a hill. No stage was ideal for him. He obviously won't win a flat sprint and with the few hilly stages with a flat finish everyone is looking and him and his team is all gone.
He's been doing great all alone.
Did you not watch the stage Trentin won? and loads others where he was the best sprinter left and somehow managed to lose?
Sagan is not and have never been a sprinter. He gets a lot of top-5 places because he is excellent at positioning himself and then wheelsuck over the line (that is not a bad thing).
A few minor climbs in the finale does not make Sagan the favourite for a given stage. Sometimes he wins in such stages, but his win rate is much better in uphill sprints, where he without question is the best rider in the peloton.
He's not a top level sprinter like Kittel or Cavendish, but he still posses a good sprint (Two of his four tour stage wins have been on flat finishes, one of them in front of Greipel). Still, his failure to win stage 7 wasn't down to the route not being right for him, the final climb made sure there were no better sprinters than him, and he screwed it up by attacking on the hill
If he hadn't attacked on the hill Van Avermaet would have won the stage. The entire group would wait for Sagan to close the gap which he would logically refuse. His only hope to win races currently is to ride them from the front and join breaks - but even then everyone refuses to cooperate with him. He needs a stronger team. |

Really sad for Bauer. And doesn't even get combative.

Ye I agree, anyone know the rules/reasons they gave out the combativity award to Elmiger I always thought it was the rider who held on for the longest thus Bauer? |

It is a decision made by judges. Usually and most fairly that is the last rider, but they have been known to make some weird calls on occasion.

Man, moments when I hate cycling. Gutted for Elmiger and Bauer but some great teamwork between the two. Please two times most combative rider. Double gutted for IAM, since Haussler came 2nd then. But hey, Kristolini/Paostoff is undeniable combo on such stages.
Elmiger was awarded most combative rider 10 minutes before the stage finished
This explains the situation, though I still have no idea why would organisers do that 10 kilometers before the actual finish. Doesn't make much sense, to be fair.

It also seems like they give it to a rider who is in a number of breakaways but did not receive it previously. On a previous stage Elmiger didn't get it when I thought he deserved it, so it seems like they reward guys who have been in multiple breaks ahead of someone who is a first timer, which is unfair because Bauer definitely deserved it. |

Still the fact is, there was not single uphill sprint in this years Tour and we all know who is best uphill sprinter, as stages that Sagan won in the past were usually an uphill sprint. This year, there is none, because it would be too boring.

Kelly was on the podium 11 times without winning one Tour, winning Green, obviously.
Go Sagan! |

Well, blocked or not by Bauer, Sagan should have been better positioned. |
