While I had somehow hoped that some teams (Ferrari, Red Bull mainly) could somewhat close the gap to the silver coloured cars a bit then it seems that Mercedes has managed to even widen the already insane gap.. Hamilton is a class or two better than Rosberg, no surprise there.

Vergne has a ten place grid penalty because he lost his wheel in FP2. Vettel has got a five place grid penalty because he switched his gear box. That was also the reason he stopped during Q3.

Today was Test Day 1 in Barcelona. Chilton surprised everyone to be the fastest, and even more suprising was that his time was around three seconds faster than his qualifying lap. Today he rode a 1:26.434 and his qualifying lap was 1:29.586. In the qualifying his lap would be good enough for the fourth position. That's an awesome update... It'd be nice if they could go for points this season.

And that the qualifying was on medium tyres. No real point comparing that time to the fourth in Q3 then.
