Really nice to see both your and Avin's presentation of talents. One of the most exciting news at the end of each season is to see how everyones talents have developed. I really like your African talents, specially Kudus and Grmay

Cheers, I agree that its great to see all these riders progressing and it adds another level of depth to the game. Feel free to take Grmay on loan next year if you remain in the PT!

Just read through your whole HQ, gotta say it's one of the nicest around. Really like the layout of the reviews especially, may have to "take some inspiration" (read: steal Pfft) from that if I do regular (p)reviews next season. Smile

Also nice to see the progress your talents are making, Kudus/Grmay will be an awesome duo for you in years to come. Smile

Cheers, I've been better this year with my HQ although I could have done some more racing updates. Of course feel free to use any of the layouts.

We're quite lucky to have a lot of young African talents, a group I'll be looking to add to further in transfers. BOI have some nice talents themselves, Mullen and Harrison both will be great for you in the future.

Mullen is actually slightly disappointing - given his rl performances in 2014, I think I should've waited with suggesting him. He won't ever win much with 78 TT, unless I massively invest (which I may well do Pfft). But Harrison you're right about, and Horton too (allthough he's a bit older).

2015 Sponsors and Jersey Revealed

As the season comes to a close, many teams are searching for sponsors in order to secure backing for the forthcoming year. Thankfully we have managed to find several partners for 2015.

Main Sponsor Kenya Airways
Secondary Sponsor Ecobank
Bikes Colnago
Helmets Giro
Clothing Castelli
Nutrition PVM

Kenya Airways remain the main sponsor of the team for the third consecutive season, as expected. They will continue to provide financial backing in return for us growing and developing Kenyan and African cycling as well as promoting their airline.

Another sponsor staying with the team is Togolese company Ecobank, which will also increase our budget in return for publicity within Africa. Colnago come in and will provide us with bikes, while Giro will provide us with helmets next year. Nutrition will come from PVM, who also supported us this year.

Finally, Castelli will be our kit providers, and they have already produced a design for us which we are very happy with and we hope it will see plenty of time at the front of the peloton next season.

It has a change of colour scheme from last year's white design to one incorporating the colours of the Kenyan flag more, albeit with a dark blue main colour opposed to a black one. National champion jerseys will follow after the end of season championships, should we win any.

Season Review

So it's the end of a long and hard season for the team. There were many highs and lows and we ended up in a scrap for survival, but we remain in the division. Here are some of our highlights from 2014.

www.dodaj.rs/f/3p/3z/21d1nLbR/2014-04-25-121048-greens.jpg

Our first win of the season came at stage 4 of the Tour of South Africa - marquee signing Ben Nasser sprinting to victory, putting him into the GC lead.

www.dodaj.rs/f/11/13W/2EOxh5P2/2014-04-26-150625-greens.jpg

He then held on to take the race overall, our first ever stage-race win. He also managed to grab the points jersey, making it a great race for us.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/Strade%20Bianche/mg2014_stradebianche_PCM0105.jpg

The Tunisian also finished 2nd at this year's Strade Bianche, jumping away from the field in Siena to secure a podium finish.

i1266.photobucket.com/albums/jj530/baseballlover312/PCM2014-05-1117-05-05-80-1.jpg

At our home race, the Kenya Mountain Classic, home favourite Mwangi Samwel climbed to 7th place against what was a stacked field.

In the race that gave us a huge C1 podium last year, this year the Tropicale Amissa Bongo was also great for us. On stage 5 Suleiman Kangangi took his second stage of this race in two years...

...while Hervé Mba took stage 6 to give make it 4 stage wins in 2 years for us at the race in Gabon.

i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag411/ramblingman92/j15_zps14f29fc1.jpg

The only major result from our three non-African riders came at Race Horizon Park, where Enrico Gasparotto sprinted to third place in Kiev.

i806.photobucket.com/albums/yy344/DailyManGame2011/2014/g-avo-2.jpg

We rode our first ever GT this year, fielding an all-African line up in the Giro d'Italia. Ben Nasser was once again our standout rider, spending time in the king of the mountains jersey and finishing 2nd on two different occasions.

i806.photobucket.com/albums/yy344/DailyManGame2011/2014/ondbv-17.jpg

At GP Onda-Boavista, Ben Nasser was edged out of a win by Chris Froome in the final few metres, on his way to finishing a very creditable 2nd.

i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/tsmoha/MG14_Reports/MG14_IntOst/14IntOst_4_013_zps6306ba8f.jpg

Our final win of the season came at the Int. Osterreich Rundfahrt, with a breakaway win coming from Kenyan Simon Kimeli on the mountainous stage 4.

We finish the season in 25th, just one point above the relegation zone. That said, there is a large 200 point margin between us and Boeing in 26th, which meant that we never got dragged right into the mix for relegation.

Three goals achieved and two near misses makes good reading for us, and should ensure a nice budget for next year. Ben Nasser was essential for us in these races, responsible for 2 of the 3 successes.

Obviously Ben Nasser was our best rider this year, with his Tour of South Africa victory along with several other impressive results helping him to dwarf our other riders' totals. He is also our best rider in the points/raceday rankings, claiming an impressive 16.6 points per raceday.

Merhawi Kudus has raced the most over the course of the year in his pursuit of levelling up, racking up an impressive 81 racedays.

Finally, surprisingly Simon Kimeli provides us with the best value for money, with 22 points for ever 10k we pay him. Lotto Petrus was another standout performance in this ranking.

Transfer Planning

With the season at an end, it's time already to start looking at next year's group of riders. Financial backing has already been secured and now the first talks have been held with our contracted riders on their futures in the team.

Overall it has been a successful season, and although we ended up in a fight for survival we managed to stay in the division and fulfil the majority of our goals. Because of this we are looking to retain a core of riders from this year. That said, we are also looking to move to the next level of performance and for that to happen the squad has to change. Whether that's a lot or just a little, we'll have to see.

But at the moment, this is what we think availability will look like for the team going into the off-season.

Untouchable
Merhawi Kudus
Hassen Ben Nasser

Staying in all probability

National Championships

Our final racing of the season, the national championships, went really well for the team as we picked up 8 titles in total - 6 on the road and 2 against the clock. The highlight was probably a double victory at our home races in Kenya. Climber Mwangi Samwel helped redeem himself after a poor season by taking the mountainous road race.

i1368.photobucket.com/albums/ag175/themanxmissile/Nationals/ken9_zpst0ra5bu9.png

Another highlight was young talent Johann Van Zyl claiming the South African road race title against a strong field, attacking away in the break and winning a close sprint. Rumours have spread that this could lead to a move away from the team but we are hopeful of keeping the promising classics specialist.

Adding to that 6 other wins, we are happy with the outcome of these championships which should ensure we have plenty of colourful jerseys within the peloton next season. A full list of our winners:

The Kenyan double was awesome for you. An actualy favorite winning a small NC was a highlight of the season!

Yeah it was great to see Samwel get it, as that means it'll probably be seen more at the front of races. I guess it was good to see a favourite win as well, although it was hardly in normal circumstances as the break sat up. Still there was a good battle on the final climb between him and Ndbri as a result.

Well done to Boeing for claiming a home double as well, even if there was no competition from other teams Pfft
