So following my brief update on how our riders are progressing i've now been informed of how out new signings are doing. Erik Bousche has been working hard on his top end speed and acceleration and should be a great lead-out man for our big sprint trio. Aquali, our one Feunard, isn't making great progress on the bike but he says he's getting better at blogging. We like to hear this and expect to see him with a lot of updates in the new season.
We've also begun planning our calendar and goals. It's rough work at the moment and we still need to hear from the UCI what the official calendars will look like. But assuming not much change we will be going after WildCards to all the French WT races and we don't forsee dificulties in obtaining such wildcards. We've also picked out the French CT races to being working on based off last season. These will be our key races in the upcoming season and we'll fill in around them.
In terms of Goals we're doing some preliminary thinking. With a strong idea of what our team will look like and how our leaders will be we've begun outlining a few strategies. The Team set Goals will all be French Races so for the first part of the season this will be Marseillaise, Paris-Nice and the Crit Int. What exactly we'll target is unconfirmed and may change after transfers.

traducteurs anglais sont inutiles;

Hello Ninetales, your concept of the ninetales games in Hainan was very interesting and I see a good sibling rivalry between you. I am sure you will have more time for updates next season because Faye will be a very good manager for FDJ.
I look forward to training and racing with you,
Erik
Spoiler Google translate your thing to english and it comes out a bit strangely but easy to understand. The idea of updating in French is pretty cool though.

I don't see the problem, I've been learning French for a year and I can get the general gist of it (I understand all but a couple words/sentences here and there, but I know what it all means).

Firstly let me welcome Aquali to our HQ. We hope to a lot more blogs over the coming months but the details can be discussed at a later date. Now we're just waiting for Lumiere to introduce himself and we are all good to go for the new season from a PR standpoint *hint hint*.
Lets do another round up on how our riders have been progressing this off-season. Nacer Bouhanni had stagnated a bit this season in his development but over the winter he seems to have picked up some more top-end speed and could match Demare. Arnaud has been busy himself and can now go better over the cobbles as well as just being a bit more resiliant in general in races.
Kenny Elissonde has made leaps and bounds this year and alongside his long mountain improvements is improved on the short and ardennes style climbs. Plus he's been putting together some new recovery techniques with our soignuers. Eneco Tour surprise Le Bon has been focusing on his TT skills in the wind-tunnel.
Soon to be sold Pinot has put in the work to make himself more valuable. He's been up in the mountains working on his climbing skills and looks like an even better buy now. Artur Vichot has been working on the shorter climbs in his progession as a Puncher. Roux joined him on the hills and still remains a great all-round rider.
Geniez was off with Pinot in the mountains and himself could now be a nice alternative to Elissonde. Geoffrey Soupe spent some time with Nacer and has also gained some top-end speed. Finally Yohann Offredo has been working on the rough stuff to either act as super-domestique to Ladagnous or as a possible alternative leader in the classics.
The last news comes from Pierrick Fedrigo. He had a great season with us and was provisionally placed on the list of riders to be cut. But his off-season work has been incredible and according to our numbers he's just as strong as last season. Perhaps with slightly less attacking he could have yet another season or 2 in his legs as a road captain and mentor.
There's still some time of the off-season to come and we hope some of the riders can improve themselves a little bit more before we get back to racing. Hopefully next time i write an update renewals will be completed and we can do some serious discussion about the transfer period.

Lots of English speaking persons don't use correct grammar, so what's wrong with a French speaking person being crap at grammar? |

I felt the need to come online and make a quick statement regarding the so-called #CycleGate. The name FDJ.fr has been mentioned a few times in connection with comments relating to TMM Sports Management CEO TheManxMissile. These connections are incorrect and TMM has no day-to-day contact with the FDJ.fr team, management or riders. TMM Sports Management has aided the running of the team during the managerial transition as well as hiring both of the managers in the last year.
This clarrificatoin i feel is nessesary to protect the integrity of the team and its riders. I nor any member of the team has made comments regarding "cyclegate" and honestly we don't have much interest. If Orica has broken the rules then i'm sure the UCI will take appropriate steps to punish them after a thourough enquiry. If people feel aggreved by this we hope that the UCI listen to these comments and take general opinion under advisement.
Other than that our off-season is going well. The riders continue to work and we wish them all a Merry Christmas (without too much turkey) and look forward to the new year and the transfer period proper.

We can now confirm most of our 2014 Squad following the renewals process. As previously expected Bonnet, Boucher, Casar, Coutreille, Delage, Fischer, Geslin, Jeannesson, Mangel, Mourey, Pichon, Pineau, Rollin, Vaugrenard and Viennet have all left the team. Their contracts were not renewed as part of our budget cuts and restructureing. We wish them all the best for the next step in their lives.
On the other side we can confirm the renewals of Bouhanni, Demare, Elissonde, Fedrigo, Geniez, Ladagnous, Le Bon, Offredo, Roux, Roy, Soupe and Vichot. These 12 riders can join Bousche, Feunard and Lumiere for the 2014 season as FDJ.fr riders. It's a strong set of riders who are all capable of scoring points and wins themselves. It also locks in our key lead trio of sprinters as well as potions for Time Trials, Hills, Cobbles and Mountains. Realistically we can now compete at a CT level on every terrain.
The sticking point so far is the renewal of Pinot. Everyone knows we are looking to sell him from the team. However Thibaut is trying to get himself a good contract he can carry with him to a new team. Currently we can neither confirm his renewal or departure from the team. We are in talks with the UCI to try and better understand the impact of our decision. As soon as the answer is known we will let you know.

And Thibaut Pinot's status is confirmed. He is out 1 allowed WAIT rule rider. Pinot will be on the market for sale to the highest bidder. Please get in contact about him if you are interested in making a purchase. Beware that being WAIT listed means that the first 12,100 of any deal goes to removing Pinot from this list. Any money ontop of that amount comes to us as a team.
This does not mean we will be looking to add 12,100 to our own evalutation of Pinot, just something you should be aware of. We are really looking to sell Pinot and he will be cheaper to pick up via a direct sale than a late transfer period FA buy. We thank Thibaut for his services and hope he can find new results at a new team.
Now listening to offers for Pinot. Send us a message here or via PM if you are interested in him. Don't make an offer yet but we will add you to a list of teams/managers we will contact once the transfer period opens.

We've recently seen and heard of a lot of WT teams struggling to keep their riders happy. The last days have seen a number of riders come out and make strong demands of their teams or they will walk away. Frankly i find this behavior by the riders disgusting, especially after they've signed full year long contracts. As result of these actions several teams have had to talk about potential GT squads.
You'd imagine balancing the wishes of three of the four best French sprinters would be tough. Wrong! Lumiere knows he is inexperienced and we will be selecting his calendar to cater to that with mostly low class events and a scattering of bigger events to aid the learning. Nacer accepts he underperformed last year and that sharing leadership with Arnaud did not work. Injuryies pending Nacer won't be attending the Tour and instead will focus more on leading in classics. Arnaud will tackled le Tour and is so focused he came to me and told me of a dream where he won the opening stage in Yorkshire.
At FDJ we believe in transparency and are happy for our riders to take part in adult discussions about their calendars and the team. But start making demands and we will not fear rejecting ultimatums. No rider will ever be bigger than the team or any other rider here.

With the new year just 4 days away, meaning the Draft and Transfer season is about 5 days away, this is a message to our riders! We value your input and if you have any specific riders you want us to target please let me know soon and we can start some serious planning for the upcoming period.
This is also a call to Plusvite for him to make his first blog post before the Draft begins! We do have expectations that out riders make regular posts so getting underway soon would be very helpful, otherwise you may find your racing schedule compromised.
Finally more words on Thibaut Pinot. Our single rider for sale has been gathering serious interest from a number of areas and we have a favorite in mind. No deals are solid yet as we want to wait for all interested parties to make initial offers first. Don't miss out on a quality rider!

Some of you have probably been hearing various transfer rumors so i'm here to clear up some discussion for you. Yes FDJ have been involved in some discussion, primarily involving Thibaut Pinot. Interest has been shown by a selection of teams but we are declining to look too seriously at the offers until the transfer period opens to give every manager a fair chance. If you have interest and havn't yet declared so please let me know ASAP so as not to miss out.
Away from our team yes i can confirm we have been targeting Mark Cavendish. Adding the legendary sprinter to the team would be an incredible boost to us. Discussions between us and OPQS have been strained with a serious reluctance to listen on their side. However progress is being slowly made, especially as OPQS needs to generate some serious income. They know roughly what our offer could look like and we will be aggresively targeting The Manx Missile. With some luck and help from other teams this could be a serious move.
We have also been looking at a small selection of other French riders currently at WT teams who might be available. The issue being we have a very limited budget but luckily we have Pinot to send the other way which gives us a nice bargaining tool. If you have a Frenchman on you squad and are thinking of selling him let us know!
But primarily we are targeting Mark Cavendish so if everyone could avoid doing business with OPQS at all then we can make it happen. Hoping for your co-operation in this venture.
Faye

To keep with our new policies of transparency here is a quick message regarding Thibaut Pinot.
Thank you to all managers who've contacted us with interest or offers. Thibaut is amazed at his popularity and is excited to move on from FDJ. Making the deal is going to be very very simple. We are asking for the 12,500 to resign him, plus 50,00 on top to cover his value. That is 62,500 total cost.
If you are willing to pay this, send me a PM including your team name and agreeing to pay us the money. We will not accept less in pure money, but we are open to including a rider. The rider must be French and from there we can negotiate the reduction in money based on rider skill.
If you want to offer more than the 62.5k you are welcome to and we will accept the highest deal. For further questions please ask here, any questions via PM will be answered in thread so all interested parties have the same information.
I look toward to hearing from you other interested managers!
