What about Rohan Dennis? He beat Froome twice in a ITT. I don't expect him to beat Froome today, but a top 10 sounds realisitic to me. |

So much nonsense and hypocrismn in these threads. Every time a guy do something good, everyone says he could challenge the main contender. Hesjedal and De gendt, most of last year was full of nonsense predictions how well these where going to do. Face it, they do well in very weak competition. Now most people cry's for Nibali being the only one able to really challenge Froome. Froome would destroy him, Nibali at BEST would only be able to hang on to Contador, Valverde and Purito at their best.
I will never ever get serious Tour-Contender respect for guys like Hesjedal, De Gendt and the likes. I am no more right than others, nor do my opinion values more than your personal opinion. But damn it can be annoying to read.
I still go for Contador as finishing on the podium, and next year both him and Schleck could kill Froome. If Alberto gets doped up to the same level as Froome in this race, then there will still be a chance. Alberto will definately win the Tour and Vuelta again. I'd say he will win atleast 3 more GT's before his career ends. Funny to see how many people judging him "out for ever", based on this Tour and a bad season
Aquarius faboulus post regarding the watts/kg ratio in Martin/Froome/Contador perspective. Loved it. |

What the fuck has happened to EBH's ambitions? He's a great TT rider and sprinter and now he takes a day off on the TT, doesn't care about sprints, carries bottles and when he's asked about it, he smiles and says it's OK.
Stupid overpaid idiot. Leave Sky ASAP if you don't want to ruin your career. |

He's good at both disciplines, but not good enough to beat the top riders, like Froome and Martin in the TT and Cav, Kittel and Greipel. So yeah, he should try to go in a breakaway or sprint in more hilly stages. But that is typical SKY, all for the GC and nothing for the great helpers. |

Aquarius what do you say to the following statement :"If they rode clean in the 90's and 00's, Jan Ullrich would have won most TDF's" . I think it was Brian Holm who said that before the Tour to a danish news paper. It was because of him being the biggest talent ever, and fastest guy on a bike (In his eyes) |

EBH barely sits on a TT bike all year besides in races, but can still produce good results riding full. If he specialized more towards stage races he could come pretty close to the best TT riders and get good GC results if he dropped a few pounds. Not necessarily in the GTs, but at least the shorter stage races.
But he lacks the ambition for it to ever materialize. He's happy being well paid water bitch at Sky. Unfortunately.

He can't win time trials and he can't win the sprints and, realistically, he is never going to be good enough to do either consistently outside of Norway. He isn't a great TT rider, he is very inconsistent there and he is a second teir sprinter at best. So this is how he can make a career for himself.
