Bouhanni was coming fast but got blocked by Chavanel and Thomas.
Would have liked to see his end speed today.
He was really fast before he got blocked, but once again showing his inability to position himself.
Bouhanni is very good at positioning himself. He has that fuck all the others-mentality. See Stage 1 of the Giro how he took Cav's wheel from Blythe

I still feel that he has to come from far behind way too many times. Might not be his fault though, but his teammates.
And on that giro stage he did well fighting for cav's wheel, but cav was already far behind as well.

Chris Froome @chrisfroome
Super win for Eddie today, especially as it wasn't something we planned on until 5km to go! #EddieTheBoss
Why the hell wasn't it planned or for the last 2 days too for that matter!?

EBH's main role is too support Froome/Porte.
That's the way it will be at Tour too.
Seeing stage turned out easier than they expected, they decided to set him up at the end.
It's bit strange, but well..

Chris Anker says that he is ill, and didn't want to push it too far. He got fever and stomach flu.

Martin not feeling good might mean Froome for the win tomorrow. Looking forward how Alberto can limit the looses.
Although I am possibly more interested who gets white tomorrow, Kwiatek or Dennis.

Sadly missed the stage today, will watch the recap later.
But it's really nice to see EBH winning again! |

I actually burst out laughing at work when i saw the result. I guess Eddy read this thread overnight and decided to make us look silly?
Also @ that froome planning comment.
Its not that suprising, but to say it wasn't planned at all is a little short of the truth.
Sky are obviously riding GC. Thats the priority. They wont ride to ensure a sprint like OPQ do. In that sense, its not planned. They did go out there today with the aim of EBH taking the sprint.
I'm pretty sure though they would have discussed the fact that if everyone is feeling good at the stage end and EBH and G are there and its ending as a sprint, Eddy goes for it. Stage wins are still WT points, money and profile.
Also, its a TT tommorrow. Whilst I imagine both of them will be pretty high up on the stage anyway, if the effort today takes a little out of them the next day its no problem because it wont hurt Froome. Which is probably the main reason it happened XD |

What Froome means is that his victories are planned months earlier

It was not classic sprint..to many corners and tricks at the end. Smartest guy got it.
Viviani and specialy Bouhani looked depressed that they have missed such oportunity and get blocked.. |

Does someone know a reson for this stupidity? I mean, is the biggest wish of organisers to disallow working people from watching their race? Some sort of reverse marketing tries going on or what...

It is all about TV times, the French Open is on so the cycling is starting earlier so it still gets coverage.

Not sure about Martin today, he had some problems with his stomach in the previous stages. Hopefully he is ok today.
