PCM 2013

The only good thing is that I know I can use it to keep warm... or perhaps melt the polar ice caps.
There's a fine line between "psychotherapist" and "psycho the rapist"

Then don't buy PCM2013. Really, you want to be solely responsile for melting those nice caps? What did they ever did to you?

Play the game everyday now. Some of the things I'd like to see improved are in the graphics and other details. I find the gampley in general ok now that I'm mastering more things.

For example some of the classics lack realistic visuals on the terrain. Take the final capos in Milan San-Remo, they're too rural looking in the game to be realistic and there needs to be greater emphasis on the cobbled climbs in the Flanders' classics as I'm never sure which one I'm going up, as the in game profile never indicates which climb you're on and neither does the commentator.

So far I've only done the season using the 2013 database upto the Dwars Door Vlaanderen. So can't comment on the rest of the terrain.

Also like to see greater detail on the riders faces in the close ups, but I guess with every rider having to wear a helmet these days, the importance of face and hair close ups are not so important.

You might be one of the very few players, who are fine with the gameplay and not so much with the graphics. Wink

Of course the graphic can always be improved. In especially with isolated buildings, that make the big classics more outstanding.

But in general the gameplay definitely needs bigger work imo.

And not to forget about the (missing) manager part.

I've had the game a couple of months now and never even knew that it existed before this. So as a cycling fanatic I'm intrigued with it and am playing it on 'normal difficulty level' and find it well balanced, so no point in moving up a level yet. When I first started I couldn't do anything properly. Now after a few months I can win bunch sprints, run sprint trains, use the team to help control races, plan when to attack, how to conserve energy, honing my time trial skills still (even though I'm not that great on team trials still) in fact the only thing I'm having problems with is winning in breakaway sprints, which just seems to be down to bad timing by me and still learning the best tactics for stage races and at the moment have only done week tours long such as Paris-Nice, Tirreno-Adriatico and Tour of Catalunya to pick just three.

Have picked up most of this info from tactics in this forum and on You Tube. So I still don't have any big issues with gamplay. What type of problems do you and others find?

I think the gameplay is fine as it is right now. It is definitely not because of the gameplay, I loose motivation. It is more the manager-part, which is almost non-excistent. As a shirtmaker, I would also like to have improved the graphics of many things. Finally you'll be able to make jerseys, where you can actually identify the logos ingame, and it makes the game a lot better for me. Also the terrain is boring to race in.

Actually I think, that if the terrain would be a lot more detailed, the game would be a lot funnier too. It is the same in real life, if a race have a lot of nature, buildings, citys and so on(like in the giro), it makes the race a lot more exciting, imo. Smile

I don't care about nature, building, cities and whatsoever when watching a cycling race. They could ride in a totally grey environment. The only thing I am interested in is what the riders do and the gaps between them.

The same is for the game. The road sides and the spectators look the same anyway, so it only lasts a second or so until I know that I am looking at a game anyway.

And we really cannot speak about realism as long as the stages are scaled. In case you did not notice, the roads are in 1:10 scale, so every hill, mountain, house is wrongly scaled as well. But I guess you are happy with the illusion of having nice looking buildings...

Like most things in life, the game needs to have quality gameplay and quality and realistic graphics as well. One of the big attractions for cycling is the environment anyway and I at least think the developers should get the correct looking terrain for the really big races and also to get loads of people for the main climbs.

Another point and I don't know if this is possible. At the moment the in game weather is random, can it be changed manually for each race?

I think enviroment is just good enough right now, maybe slightly improving. HD Jerseys is awesome, now we will see even some minor sponsors. Mountain AI and more randomness should be added (daily form + fitness should affect more on riders,so we will see someone else to win mountain stage at (example!) TDF except Froome and Contador) -> As in real life.

I am just desperate after a decent manager mode. I'm so tired of this complete lack of depth that I'm willing to settle for Pong-graphics if that means we get a cycling version of "Football Manager".

You can set the weather to a "region" using an editor. So for example UK race have more rain, while Spanish races will have more sun.
The landscapes around cycling are amazing and a major draw to many fans, including myself. PCM is not perfect, obviously, and it never will be without a 1:1 scale.
To truly appreciate the graphics (which are surprisingly gorgeous on even low settings) jump into the Moto cams and just ride with them. Suddenly the game takes on a whole new look from there, and it looks goooooooooood!

If you want to discuss the actual game, then rather create an own thread.

BTW: PCM2013 is already "finished", you can find the features in the news on the home page of this forum.

Because second one is the best manager, and one of the best games right now,and everyone wants PCM to look a bit more like Football manager (in terms of managering).

Cheers will check the weather editor. Next question where is itSmile? Is in the stage editor or in game?
