I just hate having such specific topics. If you don't know much about the one thing they"re on, you're screwed for everything in the round.
Edit: not to mention we had a football round last year.

Is that top division? biggest cup? leagues only cup?
Not that it will matter, but its a problem
also q3 is badly worded.
@bb
But its called i'm with stupid, so not knowing is supposed to be an advantage

+1, just because you're from a country that has soccer as a national sport, doesn't mean that everybody else is. that's similair to me doing that a Korfball specific round. a sport topics would be better

Just because you fucked up hard in the EC?
Nah, you're probably right, but I won't mess with anyone as I'm not participating.

I was a bit joking when I said football anyway, but hey, I'm not complaining
I understand you baseball though, I would have been in the same situation if it was with Rugby, Ice Hockey, Basketball etc.
Edit:
@Cio Hey, that hurts

I am sorry I don't know what for rounds you had last year, next round I will ask more general questions.
And TMM does that matter? |

@Bikex
Not for this round, but you need to be clear or people may misunderstand what your asking.

Football is by far the most widespread sport all over the world, it's not at all comparable to Korfball. You can expect a majority (and you can never please everyone) to have at least a basic knowledge, and even if you don't it's very easy to acquire some information that can give you a lot of points, since those questions only refer to the top tier of football.
Also, it's a fundamental concept of this game that you have to face subject areas where you have little knowledge. It's designed that way. You might not always end up on top, you might not even always get the chance to do so. Deal with it
Of course it's a bit unfortunate that we've already had a football round last year but it can hardly be mandatory for the game leader to know all the questions from all rounds.

Whatever. It might be more widespread, but it's still insanely specific. So if you don't know about football, you lose the whole round.

Heard of Google, Wikipedia, Internet, Newspapers, Magazines etc ?
You score points by matching with other people, so the most basic general knowledge is usually the best because what comes to mind first is the answer.

Then what's the difference from Korfball? You can still use those sources so why not?

If we had a Korfball round i'd be straight online to find out the answers as best i can, and i wouldn't complain. I'd probably be happy as i grow my own knowledge!

But evryone would just pick the first source for every question and everyone picks the same thing. That ruins the challenge of the game!

Which is why football works, as the majority of people know a lot about it, and don't resort to the internet

I agree with you on that. And that is exactly the difference between football and korfball. Because for football, only maybe 20-30% would have to google, in contrary to 95% for korfball. I say it again: It's almost impossible to ask questions that everyone can answer immediatly. The only knowledge that we can somehow expect is the school knowledge. And that is simply limited.

Maybe it should be more varied each round instead of being all about one single subject?
What if it was something along the lines of:
1. Sports
2. Geography
3. Movies
4. Animals
5. History?
There's a fine line between "psychotherapist" and "psycho the rapist"

I think that those categories are good. For instance, movies is good. Action movies would be bad. Or reptiles for animals. Or European Gography, or Roman history. Those would be bad.

european geography wouldn't be bad as there is still alot of variety in teh questions you could get, ie capitals, cities, rivers, broders, languages, currencies.
I agree with the rest of what you put though.
