@Luigi Sure you mean 3rd? In 'our' country, we learn at least 3 at school(at least the basics of 3) and most of the time also the basics of the 4th one...

Well, I might have made a mistake maybe...
Wow that's crazy.

Spoiler correction: latin for 6 and greek for 5 years, but only if you do the highest level of dutch secondary education. I was advised to do this level, but i refused, because i didn't want greek and latin

You onl;y have to take two languages here. Then you can take more as you wish. First you have English. Then you take either Spanish or French, and then after a few years you can take Latin, German, Dutch, Italian, and Portuguese as well as you wish.

Well, not going to use spoiler, since my post would be only a spoiler
@Luigi Wow, wish that I could've dropped French after a year...dropped it last summer. It were three years of torture, and the only thing it helped me with is reading French and maybe a bit speaking and listening...
Still got German though(It's my 4th year(guess that's 10th grade in English) now, and understand it pretty well...)
@marco Yeah, did that my first year. It was even more torture than French...
@baseball Yes. I understand that you think that... It got pretty normal for us 'Dutchies'. We realised that nobody wants to learn our language(although some people think it sounds funny), so we decided to learn languages of other people. We're a country that 'trades' a lot with other countries, so it's necassary...
Right, now enough languages talk, time for TDU

I kinda spent a long time typing my last post(on mobile) and I'm kinda in the same situation as Marco is. Just that I took the opportiunity to learn Greek and Latin, but quitted it since it was booooring...
Just that my school started with both French and German in the first (middle school) grade...
Oh yeah, and I hestitated a long time with choosing Spanish last summer, but thought Geography was more useful...
Edit: Sorry for double-post.
And yeah we should regret the New amsterdam(New York) <-> Suriname trade...

Let's also get involved! I'm now in the third year of my secondary school. I still have got all the languages including Greek and Latin. I'm probably going to drop German and Greek...I wish we could learn Spanish instead of German! It's horrible! (no offence)
