This horrible fire took place earlier today in Russia. Actually it's Maksimov's house. He bought it when he made the move to Privatbank. As Roman is racing in France no one got injured. Estimated costs are over half a million euros.

Local authorities state they do not know anything, but rumours say Oleksandr Dubilet, CEO of Privatbank, has given 'some people' the misson to punish Roman for his bad performances this season.

Both Maksimov and the team refuse to answer any questions at this moment.

If Dubilet really has something to do with this the team's future could be uncertain. More news is expected by Monday.

News on the Maksimov-Case

Police failed to find hard evidence if Dubilet being involved in this case. We're in no position to judge this but we assume it's an excuse to protect one of Ukraine's most influencial individuals.

Dubilet himself has attended a press conference yesterday. In short he said he would not quit sponsoring the team for 2014, however after next season PrivatBank will be history. Or is it?

AS Privatbank, the division of Privatbank in Cyprus has announced they would like to continue sponsoring the team, mostly to get more Cypriot athletes to compete at the 2016 Olympics.

Should we believe any of this regarding Cyprus? We don't know until probably the transfer season.

So no Mestre at Utah?

fjhoekie
Nope, I failed at planning... Mestre, Polivoda, Cardoso and Maksimov all didn't reach their max. race days...

Goals summary

Win: Donetsk GP
Maksimov, you failed here Pfft
Top 10: CT Team Standings
Finished 9th overall, meaning we will promote. Privatbank - Nemiroff Professional Cycling Team will be the new name of the team.
Top 5: Race Horizon Park
We knew this was a tough one, and Polivoda did quite good here, so we won't complain.
Stage win(s): Tour of the Middle East
Polivoda was on fire here, atleast before he missed the timecut. Great effort by Ukraine's fastest man.
Top 10: Turul al Romaniei
Without Mestre this was always a hard one, but Kononenko was strong enough to grab 10th here, thanks to his TT skills.

Next Season Plans

We've decided our focus for next year! Our team seems to be liked by many of the other managers, and we assume it has something to do with the sprinting power in our team. Therefore we'll try to sign some of the fastest men in the PCT. This combined with the climbers we have now, and Prevar who'll re-join us in 2015, we think the team should become the succesor of AirBaltic, who unfortunatley disbanded after this season.

Thanks for being allowed to loan Topchanyuk! He was a great domestique when needed, and it was also nice to see him try his luck on his own on some stages Smile

And who knows, I might ask questions about him in the transfer season, just to check how impossible it will be to buy an Ukrainian captain from an Ukrainian team Pfft

Well, a certain captain needs to be loaned to the PT next season... Smile

Thanks for training Artem for us!

I enjoyed having Hoelgaard on my team, he proved to be a good first lead-out man for my sprinters.

2014 Looks

i1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc512/ANFreeman/Privatbank13blackgreen_zps0a0ebd09.png

The shirt, which has been revealed quite some time ago, made my ANFreeman. We appreciate the work he has put in to it. A possible Ukrainian or Cypriot national champion will also wear a ANF-creation whereas other possible champions will get an aidanvn version.

Meanwhile, we just received an e-mail from fintas, who finished designing our equipment.

We are delighted with the outcome of this and coulnd't have thinked of anything better! A huge improvement compared to our old bikes!

Tranfer Targets Part 1

Regular season ended, so it's time to look forward to our time in the PCT

Every few days the team will post a few names who could potentially move to Ukraine.

So without further delay, the first few names:

Danilo Napolitano

-In his last years as a topsprinter Danilo would be a perfect role model for any young and promising sprinters we want to train. We already openly declared intrest in this man, and Evian, now La Vie Claire, confirmed he could be available to get transferred.

Tomas Vaitkus

-With AirBaltic disbanding Tomas will become a free agent. He should always be a gread lead-out for any main-sprinter and for that reasen he caught our eyes. Besides, Lithuania isn't too far away from Ukraine, so he should fit well in our team.

The Skettos brothers

-Both Timotheos and Kyriakos Skettos from Cyprus are talented sprinters. They should be able to reach a decent level within a few years.

Jaroslav Popovych

-Ukraine's best known stage racer is at the end of his career. His age should start to prevent him from winning really big races now, and for that reason we think he might be interested to help us develop talanted riders from the region.

Roman Maksimov

-We all know him as the Russian Rocket and his strikingly bad performances have actually caused more people to google the words 'Privatbank', and 'Russian sprinter'. For financial reasons he would certainly be an interesting rider to add to our roster, permanently.

More riders later Smile

Team CSC-Orbea has already given Maksimov his walking papers. The Russian Rocket will be hitting free agency this season. He has expressed a lot of interest in returning to Privatbank next season. Wink

Good to see that you have no Portuguese rider as priority for next season

Popovych you say, hmm. I think it was always his biggest goal to improve the level of talents of Ukrainian cycling, when he decided to return home. So continuation at PrivatBank could be next logical step. We will talk for sure, or rather the cash will talk for us.

And we share a target btw, Smile

Stay or Leave?

As many other teams did already, we'll anounce who is safe to keep a team for next season.

Keep in mind everyone can be sold, at a good price ofcourse.

Staying
Oleksandr Polivoda
Mykhaylo Kononenko
Vitaliy Buts
Volodymyr Gomenyuk
Oleksandr Golovash
Eduard Vorganov
Cesar Andre Fonte
Filipe Cardoso
Arturs Ansons
Marios Athanasiades
Undecided
Ricardo Mestre
David Chokheli
Leaving
Marco Alexandre Ferreira Cunha
Back to their original teams
Roman Maksimov
Volodymyr Dzhus
Anatoliy Sosnitskiy
Nicolae Tanovitchii
Daniel Hoelgaard
Coming back from other teams
Artem Topchanyuk
Oleksandr Prevar

A small note on Prevar: He'll most likely get loaned out again, to a PT team this time to fully max out.

Chokheli will only be offered a contract if he wins the Georgian NC, either TT or RR.

Mestre will only stay if he asks a normal salary.

We thank Cunha for his efforts in the races he rode. He was a great domestique for us, but we feel like we should step away from the Portugese focus a bit. Therefore he would not fit into our 2014 team anymore. We wish him the best of luck in finding a new team.

Picture Summary

i1130.photobucket.com/albums/m537/Alakagom/PCM0053-1.jpg
Race one, Stage one, Win one! It was in January that Polivoda delivered us our first win the the Tour d'Algerie!

img694.imageshack.us/img694/2499/met0627.jpg
Polivoda just dominated in the Middle East, with the great lead-out from Lima! Shame he didn't make the time cut on a mountainstage later on...

i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/mangame19_zpsa01a0b39.jpg
Cobbles? Yes! Buts went in the early break and managed to outsprint the favourites who joined the break later in the race. Surprising win Smile

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Turul%20al%20Romaniei/Stage%208/28_zpsdc39cb0f.jpg
Kononenko didn't win here, but he secured a sponsor goal: Top 10 in the Turul al Romaniei!

Roman 'Russian Rocket' Maksimov steamed to 3 stage wins in New Zealand! As a bonus he grabbed the points jersey.

i187.photobucket.com/albums/x62/Smowz/MG2013/C2races/a15_zps35842ddd.jpg
And he just continued in Serbia Grin

i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll76/A_Schleck/FBD/FBDS7P46.jpg
Also the Tour of Ireland was rather succesful with Cardoso winning a stage and Vorganov getting 2nd overall.

i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll76/A_Schleck/YGP/YGPS01P17.jpg
But Vorganov's real high was winning his homerace in Yekaterinburg! Also quite dominating...

Transfer Targets Part 2

Mikayil Krasnoperov

-Going to the free agency very soon, this climber sure caught our eyes. Very strong on long climbs, and still fairly young. Mikhayil would surely be a great mountain leader.

Jukka Vastaranta

-Also a rider who is going to the free agents. The Fin is a rare puncheur with a very strong sprint. He'd be an awesome lead-out and hills leader for Privatbank.

Rui Costa

-A great rider for 1 week tours which don't have real mountains. His abilities on both hilly terain and time trials should be a great pointssource to survive in the PCT.

Vadim Ratiy

-Ukraine's other great climber has already been linked to both our team and Metinvest by numerous sources. He is a bit more allround than Krasnoperov and would be a great leader for any PCT team.

Ivan Kovalev

-Great against the clock, basically sucks at everything else. Nevertheless he could be a strong rider for the team time trials, a dicipline we lack good riders in at the moment.

Avin Wargunnson
Obvious two clashes for our teams here. I have to say i am more keen to get Krasnoperov though.

Transfer Targets Part 3

Vladimir Karpets

-Karpets is, like some other riders mentioned earlier, in the late days of his career. However, he might still be a great domestique, or even leader in some races.

Aleksandr Serebriakov

-A rider quite similar to Maksimov, and from the same country. Aleksandr misses the real kick to accelerate and would therefore be more a lead-out then a main sprinter.

Gatis Smukulis

-Really strong domesique on flat stages in a stage race. This Latvian has no real expertise and is strong on multiple terains, without being exceptionally good overall.

Yuriy Vasyliv

-Born in Ukraine, riding with a German license, this youngster is a promising stage racer. With the initial goal to train talented riders he would seem to fit great in our team.

Maksym Averin

-One of Polivoda's friends. They've ridden at the same amateur team where they challenged eachother to get better every day, resulting them to be Ukraine's leading sprinters.
