Definitely.
I don't always agree with USA politics, but talking about the regular Joe there I wouldn't call him stupid. The politicians are assholes, sure, but that's in any country, power changes people into... well, assholes.
I agree there are many stupid (what is stupid anyway?) people in America. But if you count how many people there are in America, you're bound to have a numerous amount of dumb people between them. Percentage-wise it's most likely the same as anywhere else.

They're all getting their salaries paid for by the right-wiing lobbyists...
Let me count:
Gun lobby
Anti-abortion lobby
Anti-Obamacare lobby
Oil lobby
Gas lobby
Tax lobby
Bank lobby
Financial lobby
Anti-climate-change lobby
Real estate lobby
Food lobby
and the worst of all the worst, Monsanto...
I just came across this quote, and even though it's more about religious questions I think it is smoewhat relevant for this discussion aswell:
"The chief deficiency I see in the skeptical movement is its polarization: Us vs. Them -- the sense that we have a monopoly on the truth; that those other people who believe in all these stupid doctrines are morons; that if you're sensible, you'll listen to us; and if not, to hell with you. This is nonconstructive. It does not get our message across. It condemns us to permanent minority status."
Carl Sagan.
The people you call brain-less propably call you brain-less aswell. Don't let yourself get dragged down to their level.

I'm a Reopublican. Moderate though. for example, I don't deny Romney is a complete asshole.
Moderate republican....
I guess you're still anti-abortion, anti-tax, anti-social security, anti-Obamacare
I am Anti abortion, but we've gone through that and came to the conclusion that Europe loves killing babies. So I am not talking about that. Where'd you get anti-tax? It's very much the opposite. Social security I agree with. Obamacare needs a different name at least.

I'm against abortion myself, but almost everyone in my party believe that a human fetus is to be considered as subhuman waste.
I once spoke at a party meeting and proposed that we should not necessarily outlaw abortion, but we should make women go through and make them say no to alternatives like adoption, group therapy, etc before they say yes to having their baby aborted.
I think only 2 out of maybe 50 at the meeting supported me, some of the others even booed me....
I agree. A fetus is a human being. The thing is, even if it isn't yet, it would become one most likely without any interference. It's how the human body works.
The thing I mean is that you should know the risks. If you get pregnant, you knew there was a risk to get pregnant. You made the decision to take the risk.
This of course means that I find abortion okay in rape situations.
The other thing that pisses me off is paying taxes on"healthcare" like that. At the very least pay for it yourself instead of making me pay for something I find morally wrong. That liberal type of thinking is why I lean towards Republican.

What you may or may not realise (don't know what's worse) is that most people who aren't able to pay for their health issues aren't lazy freeloaders. It's just that medical treatment has become so expensive that many people who may be working very hard but have ill-payed jobs can't pay for sometimes vital medicaments. If you find it morally wrong to pay a few dollars per month to prevent some people from dying... well, then you're the incarnation of what is wrong with modern civilisation.
I don't mean to offend you personally. It may well be that I understood you wrong. But I can't help it when I see statements like that.
My arguement was not to the care, but having to pay for abortions in it. You would know that iif you read the posts above, and note the quotation marks.

Do you still really believe people (well, girls and women, we don't abort, do we ?) abort for the fun of it, up to 12 times a year ?
Let's push the absurd reasoning a little further. Every spermatozoon is potentially half a human, you carry millions at a time. So, every one of them you waste (and in a life time you'll waste billions of billions of those) is potentially a non born child. How about that ?
Take the same example with ovum if you prefer (as there'd never be enough women on Earth to give birth to all that potential population).
Alright, then I understood you wrong indeed. Didn't get that you meant the abortions with "healthcare". Alright then, my post stays valid though, just not for you personally.
On the topic of abortions, I have the same opinion as Aquarius.

Muhahahaha! When I become the leader of the world, I'll outlaw abortion and make sure that every woman in the world who becomes pregnant becomes so through my sperm!!
