Thanks Sutty! Rojas has been great so far. That said, Ventoso is doing very well for Geox. Maybe should have kept him
Thanks a lot Andy!
Glad you like it Pelli. I think thats how I will do all my shortened race reports. Dont like the tedious task of taking screens of profile, when everyone knows it.
Thanks Freitas. A win with Rojas, surprised I didn't break the game
Konovalovas was Caisse's best rider with over 70% of the prologue over. He set one of the fastest times, and was looking to stay inside the Top 10 by the end of it, however most teams leaders were set to go off now, which meant more chance of him losing his place!
The eventual winner on the day, Chavanel, rode very well, and it was impossible for his times to be beaten. No doubt he had extra motivation to win the stage, with it being in his home country, but a good ride from him!
Now our leader, Valverde is out on the course. He isn't expecting great times, but he has the potential to put up the best time for the team. At the time check, he's doing well, but that was probably thanks to the climb, because in the 2nd half of the course, he begins to lose time. He ends up 29 seconds down of the winner, but you would have thought he would do better, with a climb and descent on the course.
@ dienblad: Agree. I dont know what went wrong really. LLS should have done better.
@ Timo: Thanks, I wish he lost less, but I'll just have to make it up.
The only action of the day for Caisse was Javier Moreno getting into the breakaway, and giving the team some exposure, at one of the biggest World Tour races in the spring. He als grabbed the most KOM points, and will wear the jersey tomorrow. Its a jersey he can probably defend too, so we will hope he can do that.
But nothing unusual happened today, which meant the breakaway was brought back, in the final third of the race.
Caisse tried their best to get Chainel or Molmy into the sprint, even Valverde and Jeannesson but it was to no prevail. Greipel gets the stage win, in a fairly competitive sprint field. He is likely using the race for tune up to Milan San Remo, and his form seems good so far!
