Yeah there are 19PT teams, so the ASO decided to give out only 3 wildcards. |

Santos Tour Down Under Stage 6
The final stage is a flat circuit in the city of Adelaide. It's the final oppurtunity for the sprinters to kick off their season with a win.
Today's breakaway was quite big, but the peloton didn't let them far away, the gap was always around 2:00 - 3:00 minutes.
Mainly Greenedge did the work, so obwiusly Allan Davis is feeling good. They caught the breakaway with a surprising ease.
Greenedge took control with their train, and we decided not to make our train, and just latch onto the wheel of Davis. But unfortunately GE fu***d up their train, and it was a real mess. Bahr stayed on the wheel of Davis, but he lost too much energy.
At the 1km mark AG2R is in the front with Belletti leading out Mondory. Sutton is also coming fast on the left! Who will win this?
It's Robbie Hunter! What an amazing sprint, he wasn't even in the top 15 at 1kms! Sutton comes 2nd and Bahr is the 3rd.
1 | Robert Hunter | Garmin - Sharp | 2h00'19 | 2 | Christopher Sutton | Sky Procycling | s.t. | 3 | Christian Bahr | SpiderTech - Cervélo | s.t. | 4 | Lloyd Mondory | AG2R La Mondiale | s.t. | 5 | Michael Matthews | Rabobank Cycling Team | s.t. | 6 | Anthony Roux | FDJ - BigMat | s.t. | 7 | Assan Bazayev | Astana Pro Team | s.t. | 8 | Kenny Dehaes | Lotto Belisol Team | s.t. | 9 | Manuel Belletti | AG2R La Mondiale | s.t. | 10 | Daniel Oss | Liquigas - Cannondale | s.t. |
Pietropolli wins the WT season opener! He was the most consistent out of the favorites, so it's a well deserved win for him.
1 | Daniele Pietropolli | Lampre - ISD | 19h22'49 | 2 | Baden Cooke | Orica - GreenEdge | + 9 | 3 | Jérôme Pineau | Omega Pharma - Quick·Step Cycling Team | + 10 | 4 | Giovanni Visconti | Movistar Team | s.t. | 5 | George Hincapie | BMC Racing Team | s.t. | 6 | Máté Gömböcz | SpiderTech - Cervélo | s.t. | 7 | Christian Bahr | SpiderTech - Cervélo | + 22 | 8 | Lloyd Mondory | AG2R La Mondiale | + 34 | 9 | Lucas Sebastián Haedo | Team Saxo Bank - Tinkoff Bank | s.t. | 10 | Assan Bazayev | Astana Pro Team | + 40 |
1 | Robert Hunter | Garmin - Sharp | | 20 | 2 | Christopher Sutton | Sky Procycling | | 18 | 3 | Sébastien Rosseler | Garmin - Sharp | | 18 | 4 | Christian Bahr | SpiderTech - Cervélo | | 16 | 5 | Stijn Vandenbergh | Omega Pharma - Quick·Step Cycling Team | | 16 |
1 | Maciej Bodnar | Liquigas - Cannondale | | 40 | 2 | Dimitriy Muravyev | Astana Pro Team | | 32 | 3 | Stijn Vandenbergh | Omega Pharma - Quick·Step Cycling Team | | 28 | 4 | Michael Matthews | Rabobank Cycling Team | | 24 | 5 | Sébastien Rosseler | Garmin - Sharp | | 22 |
Well this stage was not as good as we wanted, but still a podium place! That's not so bad!
Bahr - 1
Our neyt race is Tour of Qatar!

What a field is here in Qatar! Cavendish, Greipel, Goss, Hushovd, Farrar and Boasson Hagen! What a speed - fest will this be! The fastest sprinters will give some clue about their early season forms! Are you ready for it?
Note: The reports will be short as the race is not a WT race, and I'd like to go a bit faster with the story, until I have this much free time. I hope that's not a problem for you All, dear followers. The WT races will have the same style as the TdU. (excepts the GTs, there will everything be detailed. ) |

Tour of Qatar Stage 1,2,3
This stage is a pan - flat one, just as all the others here in Qatar. Everything is perfect for a mass-sprint, except the strong wind, which can blow the peloton into little pieces...
The stage was a quite usual flat stage, as the BotD formed and get caught around Km no. 20, so the conditions were ideal for the top sprinters to fight out the stage win. Our train was a bit unorganised, and the completely out of form, guys didn't help us getting a stage-win.
At the end of the day Greipel won after a tremendous burst of speed in the last kilometre. Despite our messy train, Bartosz was still able to get a 4th place ahead of the likes of Goss, Cavendish and Guardini.
1 | André Greipel | Lotto Belisol Team | 3h00'01 | 2 | Robert Hunter | Garmin - Sharp | s.t. | 3 | Thor Hushovd | BMC Racing Team | s.t. | 4 | Bartosz Piasecki | SpiderTech - Cervélo | s.t. | 5 | Nico Eeckhout | An Post - Sean Kelly | s.t. | 6 | Matthew Goss | Orica - GreenEdge | s.t. | 7 | Andrea Guardini | Farnese Vini - Selle Italia | s.t. | 8 | Matti Breschel | Rabobank Cycling Team | s.t. | 9 | John Clemson | SpiderTech - Cervélo | s.t. | 10 | Oscar Gatto | Farnese Vini - Selle Italia | s.t. |
This is probably the GC deciding day, although the TTT course is quite short. We'll try to put in a good performance, but the rider's form is not on our side.
We were the last team to start, and our race today wasn't too good. Our riders clearly have to train in this discioline a lot, as everything was unclear and the roles were switched. Despite the problems we still managed to get 10th, which is not a bad result considering the problems we had. The TTT was woon by Sky, but they didn't get the leader's jersey as Garmin's Hunter was the lucky one to take it.
1 | Sky Procycling | 13'39 | 2 | Garmin - Sharp | s.t. | 3 | Orica - GreenEdge | + 10 | 4 | BMC Racing Team | + 13 | 5 | Farnese Vini - Selle Italia | + 18 | 6 | Omega Pharma - Quick·Step Cycling Team | s.t. | 7 | Team Saxo Bank - Tinkoff Bank | + 20 | 8 | Rabobank Cycling Team | s.t. | 9 | An Post - Sean Kelly | + 24 | 10 | SpiderTech - Cervélo | + 26 | 11 | Whirlpool - Author | + 28 | 12 | Lotto Belisol Team | s.t. | 13 | Champion System Pro Cycling Team | s.t. | 14 | Team Europcar | s.t. | 15 | Cofidis, le crédit en ligne | s.t. | 16 | Bank BGZ | s.t. | 17 | Topsport Vlaanderen - Mercator | + 34 |
Stage 3's profile is classic Qatar. Flat, and flat and flat. Let's hope for a good placement for Bartosz.
The stage was a quite boring one. The break was lazy, because of the terrible heat, and the peloton didn't want to reel them back in too early, so the stage was going slowly. We tried again with the train and it was much better, but the other teams were really strong too, especially Sky.
And Hushovd wins stage 3! The God of Thunder blasted away from the slipstream of Cav, and took the stage! Cav came 2nd in front of the angry Andre "Gorilla" Greipel. Bartosz was boxed in and didn't have the power to accelerate again.
1 | Thor Hushovd | BMC Racing Team | 3h23'26 | 2 | Mark Cavendish | Sky Procycling | s.t. | 3 | André Greipel | Lotto Belisol Team | s.t. | 4 | Heinrich Haussler | Garmin - Sharp | s.t. | 5 | Bartosz Piasecki | SpiderTech - Cervélo | s.t. | 6 | Matthew Goss | Orica - GreenEdge | s.t. | 7 | Tomasz Smolen | Bank BGZ | s.t. | 8 | Nikolas Maes | Omega Pharma - Quick·Step Cycling Team | s.t. | 9 | Matti Breschel | Rabobank Cycling Team | s.t. | 10 | Krzysztof Jeżowski | Bank BGZ | s.t. |
Hushovd gets the leader's jersey ahead of Hunter and Team Sky.
1 | Thor Hushovd | BMC Racing Team | 6h36'51 | 2 | Robert Hunter | Garmin - Sharp | + 3 | 3 | Mark Cavendish | Sky Procycling | + 10 | 4 | Geraint Thomas | Sky Procycling | + 15 | 5 | Davide Appollonio | Sky Procycling | s.t. | 6 | Heinrich Haussler | Garmin - Sharp | s.t. | 7 | Edvald Boasson Hagen | Sky Procycling | s.t. | 8 | Bernhard Eisel | Sky Procycling | s.t. | 9 | David Zabriskie | Garmin - Sharp | s.t. | 10 | Thomas Dekker | Garmin - Sharp | s.t. |
Greipel is the most consistent sprinter so far, tied with Hushovd.
1 | André Greipel | Lotto Belisol Team | | 41 | 2 | Thor Hushovd | BMC Racing Team | | 41 | 3 | Matthew Goss | Orica - GreenEdge | | 26 | 4 | Bartosz Piasecki | SpiderTech - Cervélo | | 26 | 5 | Robert Hunter | Garmin - Sharp | | 25 |
