News in August

This Vuelta squad is sad. Because now Froome may sit on Uran simply because he can. Frown

Good thing we have Pate... for Swift.

Moncoutié is going to retire after La Vuelta.

A Legend will retire. Im going to miss him.

solano
That is a shame. I guess he's hoping to win the KOM again as his last hurrah.

Who is going to fill Moncoutie's boots then Wink

Pellizotti2
"After the Vuelta" means that he's riding it this year, or what?

Because if he wont be there, then I think it was pointless to invite Cofidis. A team like Acqua & Sapone, Androni or Colombia-Coldeportes would've been a better choice imo.

GREAT to see a ProTour race come to the UK Wink
But lets hope the crowds will come out as they did for Olympic events Wink

wackojackohighcliffe
Don't think it's gonna be PT. Hopefully the UK road racing scene might be revived thanks to the Wiggins effect and it won't just be some race in London.

kumazan
Where does it say it'll be PT? Oh god I hope it won't.

Schleck96
Now Wiggins has to find a way to win it too ahahaha

baseballlover312
If it can start at HC and move up, fine, but I sure hope it's not PT.

Its not pro tour
cat 1.1 at best for 2012
may have some WT teams, basically Sky and 2-3others i guess
Hope its not the Olympic RR course, its good, but not that good.
good news though
crowds will be much much smaller

No, this reace shouldn't move up. You can have really cool selective races in the UK, so if a British race is to be made PT, I sure hope it isn't this one.

Smal
eugh, why do we have to put races on in London when the best cycling in this country BY FAR is in the Lake District? I mean, we could have some seriously brilliant races up there at the many passes.

Wilier
So after 8 years Hamilton is stripped of his gold medal at the Olympic time trial. Ekimov is now the official gold medalist. Julich silver and Rogers bronze. Meh.
