I havn't commented yet but I'm already following the whole Giro. I have to say that Peter did great taking the points jersey in the Giro as it is a really hard task, especially as Cunego took points everywhere!
Imo, the Green jersey is much easier as the red one so I'm sure you will take that one too!!

I haven't really been commenting on any story recently, but I've been following this one all the way through. I like it a lot.
Tour should be the hardest one, but I think you can do it!

With the Tour de France set to get underway in a few days,
reporters have lined up to get interviews with the teams and riders.
The Liquigas team and Peter Sagan have agreed to participate
in this event and would love to answer your questions.
Please send questions via PM
and we will try to answer all or many of your questions.

How do you carry good fitness througout the season?
How do you train to be a good all rounder?
Peter it sounds like these questions are for you.
Well, as for staying in good fitness it's all about not get lazy. Since I'm only going to ride grand tours this season I have to stay focused. Sure I get to take January and February off but from their it is a lot of hours on the training bike. By the time the Giro rolled around you are itching to actually compete with other riders. Between tours its back onto the training bike. It takes a lot of motivate to stay fit when you aren't racing for stage wins.
As for your second question, most of it isn't training. To be a good all rounder most of it comes from natural born talent. The hard part is just maintaining and growing the talent. I like to do this by riding different types of stages in my training program. Flat stages one day and next day throw in some hard climbs. It's all about keeping yourself ready to face any type of stage.
Thanks for those great questions, keep them coming.

Hi Peter, J. Michaels from Sky Sports.
You didn't ride any races before the Giro and struggled in the start of the Giro. Do you feel more confident this time around, having the giro under your belt?
And who will be your biggest contender?
Sure I feel a little more confident but then again I have been sitting around for the last month while some of my competitors have been racing and getting in top form. Also I can't draw to much confidence because I really wasn't winning the flat bunch sprints. Which leads me into your second question, the competition is going to be much harder. I feel like Cavendish, Greipel, and maybe Goss will provide the hardest challenges, but then again I haven't even looked at the start list so I'm not sure who is making the journey to France. But whoever makes the journey, I'm not scared of them.
Hope that answer your question J. Michaels. Next question.

To the team manager,
Will the team be supporting Nibali on the GC or Sagan for the green jersey?
We are still developing the tactics, but the team wants to put more focus on Peter Sagan after realizing that he does have a realistic shot at his quest. And after Nibali stumbled to finish 6th at the Giro we are still uncertain that he will lead the team. Basso is coming in with better form and we don't know if Nibali has fully recovered yet from riding in Italy. So to get back to your question, we will be giving Sagan 85% support with 15% going to our GC guys.
We have time for a few more questions.

So, you dont consider Tyler Farrar a real threat to the green jersey? And how many stages to you think you can win, you have a rare combination of skills. So you can win a lot.
Tyler Farrar could pose a threat but after seeing him in Giro and not really scoring points until later in the race, I'm not going to mark him as closely as say somebody like Cav. And I'm really not concerned about winning stages, although I do have some new celebrations if the time comes, I'm more concerned about staying consistent and taking points. But no worries I will answer your question, I would like at least 3 stages wins.
We are running out of time, how about 2 more questions.

Will Peter Sagan help in the mountain if the GC leader need's it?
The only reason Sagan would have a role in the mountains is if he is in a breakaway or if we hold the yellow jersey. Other then that Peter should be able to take it easy and rest as much as possible in the mountains.
Alright, 1 more question.

Are you planning to sneak into breakaways to try and steal some points at the intermediate sprint points without competition from the arguably better pure sprinters like Cavendish and Greipel?
I don't want to waste to much energy going into the breakaways but I can see myself jumping into a few on the mountainous stages like I did in the Giro if I have to. But on flat stages expect my to battle it out with the sprinters.
That concludes our Media Day coverage.
Stay tuned for stage 1 of the Tour de France tomorrow.

Tour de France - Stage 1
Welcome to Belgium for the opening prologue
of the 2012 Tour de France.
Bradley Wiggins, one of the top favourites for yellow in Paris,
is one of the first riders to hit the road.
And surprisingly he doesn't set the best time!
He comes 8 seconds short of the best time so far set by Lieuwe Westra.
Peter Sagan is out of the course rather early as well.
He sets a reasonable time, but how will it hold up?
The World Champion Tony Martin is the next big name up.
He slots himself between Westa and Wiggins. 6 seconds to slow.
So it looks like the Vacansoleil man has set a great time.
Lars Boom bumps Martin down another spot as he goes 2 seconds faster.
80% of the riders have finished, Sagan still sits 10th overall.
Points are available for the top 15th.
Cadel Evans the defending champion, who for some reason isn't going last,
only loses 6 seconds to rival Wiggins today.
EBH almost beats his Sky leader Wiggins as he has a great prologue.
Sagan continues to slip down to the leader board.
Sagan is knocked out of the top 15 as Tom Boonen has a great ride.
Fabian Cancellara can't knock off the surprise of the day Westra either.
He is 2 seconds to slow, could Vacansoleil have their first yellow jersey?
After a close call from Sylvain Chavanel,
Lieuwe Westra gets to stand on the podium and slip on yellow.

With all the points available in the intermediate sprints and flat stages at the finish. This should be the easiest. But with all the top sprinters here, it could also be the hardest challenge |

Does the intermediate sprints in PCM give the same amount of points as it does irl though? As far as I'm aware, it doesn't. At least I don't think in PCM11.

they do
sidenote; this lead to a hilarious issue with the 07db as each stage had 2-3 sprint points
the win was worth 45pts, intermediteas 60
meant i won the points jersey with wiggins just by being in 1/3of the breaks and tt's

Great ride by Westra, one of my favorite dutchies. Shame Sagab couldn't get any points, Hagen and Boonen are in good nick by the looks of it.
