Yeah sorry about that I already played the stage some time ago. The problem is that I dont really know how I want to write the report for a time trial, but to put some pressure on myself: it will be up tonight!!! I hope I can keep that promise
Edit: Maybe I just don't want the story to end Well no that would just a be cheap lie

Hi all,
Today the final stage of this years Paris-Nice took place. It was the deciding individual time trial up the Col d'Èze. Before the start I was pretty nervous, because I still had a shot at finishing on the podium in the overall.
Here is the Top 6 before the last stage:
1 | Luis León Sánchez | Rabobank Cycling Team | 28h10'29 | 2 | Tony Martin | Omega Pharma - Quickstep | + 4 | 3 | Maxime Monfort | Radioshack - Nissan | + 20 | 4 | Jérôme Coppel | Saur - Sojasun | + 21 | 5 | Andreas Klöden | Radioshack - Nissan | + 25 | 6 | Wout Poels | Vacansoleil - DCM Pro Cycling Team | + 28 |
As you can see we were all within half a minute, so with a good day everyone of us still had a chance to win.
PARIS-NICE - STAGE 8
Talabardon started quite early today because of his GC position, but I wanted to show you a picture of him anyways.
Talabardon in his beautiful jersey
Andy Schleck started quite some time before the favorites as well, he was 54th before the stage.
Andy Schleck was really strong today - 19'06 min - which meant the best time of the day
Jurgen Van den Broeck was 20th in the GC before the stage. He showed a very good performance coming in +17 sec after Schleck in the provisional ranking
I really felt good today heading up the climb and I was hoping the time would be good as well.
At the checkpoint I wasn't too far behind the leaders
The first rider from the Top 5 to finish the time trial was Andreas Klöden. The course really suited him and he used it to his advantage coming in second place only +9 sec slower than his team mate Schleck.
Klöden is the virtual leader at the finish
I was the next rider to reach the finish. My heart was racing as I was heading towards the line.
Coming over the line I saw my time on the big monitor - 20 seconds slower than Schleck, but a good 5th place so far. Sadly Klöden therefore passed me in the GC by 7 seconds, and what that means you will find out soon enough. Now we had to wait and see what the others were capable of...

No worries sutty - here it is:
Hi,
Sorry I couldn't finish my blog yesterday night, but my team mates picked me up from our room just when I was writing it. We had a small party yesterday night. Do you want to know why - here's why:
So I had done my part and finished the time trial in fifth place so far. Right after me it was Maxime Monfort, who came over the line. He looked completely empty - even worse than me. No wonder he only finished in 12th place in the stage result. He lost 15 seconds on me, that meant I passed him in the overall.
The next rider to finish was Tony Martin, he already had an advantage of 17 seconds on me before the stage.
Martin had his problems on the climb
But although he is a great time trialist, the climbing didn't really suit him much. He had to settle with a 19th place in the stage, 45 seconds down on stage winner Schleck. This also means I was able to pass him in the GC as well. So I was already on a podium spot, with one rider left on the course.
Race leader Luis Leon Sanchez was the last rider to finish the course today.
Sanchez just wasn't strong enough today
He didn't feel too well today, at least that's what he said in an interview right after the race. His time was indicating the same as he finished in 17th place and 43 seconds behind the winner. Therefore I passed him as well in the GC.

Sure only the race winner will make his way into the history books, but I am sooo happy with my second place in the overall. We have more than reached our goal of a Top 10 result. Maybe this could finally be my big breakthrough, after all this is a famous World Tour race with a long history.
It was a great race for me, but I couldn't have done this without the help of my team mates. They did a great job, also Talabardon's fantastic win in the KoM ranking should be mentioned again, he has a huge smile on his face, sitting next to me right now.
So I guess this is it - Paris-Nice is finished and so is this blog, I guess.
Your sincerely,
Jérôme

Thank you so much everyone!!!!
As I said in the beginning this was my first story and I just wanted to see, if I am capable of writing a story myself. It was a lot of fun for me writing it.
Those comments mean a lot to me after the work I put in writing the story. Great to hear you all liked it after not getting too many comments sometimes, I didn't even thought about doing another story, but now I may start a new one in about two weeks, when I'm done with my university stuff
Special thanks again to sutty and Ian, who nearly commented on every stage - without the two of you I'm not sure if I would have ever finished the story

It was fun following, so no problem there
Just a question, if you will (yes, you should ) return with another story, will it involve Coppel again? |

Mhm not really sure yet to be honest as I would probably start with the latest patch & Db it would be some boring first months because I would have to play the first months again and i already played those with Coppel
But this time it would be a "normal" story without a time limit or a special race where the story ends, but definitely a One-Rider story again, because it means lesser race reports and i really like to concentrate on one rider only
