That was actually when the GPS showed a gap of 2 minutes, pretty sure he just said it wrong, saying meters instead of minutes
Having said that, the guy who's doing the commentary is arguably the Norwegian cycling commentator knowing most about cycling. His knowledge is great.
This should be another stage win for Sagan. Wonder how many meters he needs to sprint today, less than yesterday?

Sagan's unbeatable. I'm a little afraid he could be in the jersey up to Mt. Baldy.

I think you're wrong. Boonen is more eager this year, almost like 2005/2006 again.
He sprinted again in races he didn't sprint in at all the last few years. And he even won on pure speed against guys like Sagan.
He will sprint here if he gets the chance.
Yeah, but how fast really is Sagan ? I'd rate him as a third rank sprinter.
Boonen would be second rank or something, together with lesser sprinters like Freire, Farrar, Démare, Bos, Renshaw, Hushovd, Petacchi, etc.
I would like to, but Idoubt he'll even bother sprinting against guys like Greipel, Kittel or Cavendish (which I'd call the only three first class sprinters).
Sagan third rank sprinter, that was a good joke
Edit. Btw another great win for him. Competition is not great in sprints, but he had to overcome another mechanical problems to win.

Sagan had mechanical problems and a crash on both stage's up to now, yet rides himself to the front and wins on both occasions, the man is just on awesome form at the moment |

Thing is, he probably isn't anywhere near top shape . (Do note that the competition hasn't been to hard up till now).

This, he had a month rest, so he is not really in form, but it is enough in Cali. He will be in form in July

I hope he is in form in July, so he can test himself against the world's best sprinters |

I have no doubt he'll show Cavendish, Greipel and Kittel altogether, who the really king of sprints is nowadays.
Seriously, either you didn't understand what I mean, either you can't consider him objectively. I'd say that in pure sprint terms, he's somewhere around the 10th and 15th place of the best sprinters. They're rarely all present at the same time, so that makes him a permanent top 10 finisher in bunch sprints on grand tours for example.
I don't see him higher than that for the moment, though he seems to have the potential to be faster (but he should probably rather focus on mountains or hills rather than sheer speed).
When he's beat sprinters I consider faster than him, I think that was often due to them being whacked by a difficult course rather than to his sheer top speed qualities. |

I know what you mean, and i was dicussing this here several times, so no need to do it again, we just handle the role of sprinter differently. Of course Sagan is not as fast as Cavendish or Greipel, but to call him third tier sprinter is opposite extreme to be honest. For example Hunter or Sutton are third tier sprinters ,but Sagan who won almost 20 massprints during last two years including WT and GT stages, beating likes of Goss and Kittel there?
I see Sagan sprinting-wise as similar to Freire, he was third tier sprinter too?

I dont think you can catalog and compare Sagan as and with the sprinters. Peter is much more than a sprinter. In a pure sprint, of trenos and all plain Cav, Kittel and Goss are more faster, but if you add a hill before the finish, Peter has no rival.
And what more would emphasize, in addition to doing well in almost all fields, is his age ... has an unpredictable future.
