You cant say that if there wasn't 2K football games for the past 7 years, that Madden would not be out of business. Selling for $20 on release day is what people want, and its what they got.
I am going to be honest, NCAA Football 13 is the best game EA has ever made.
Madden needs the live ticker on the bottom, the pre game shows with Boomer like 2K5, and the halftime & postgame shows, not to mention the sports-center at the end of each week.
Connected careers only lets you control 1 team, which is wrong. NFL 2K5 hit it right on the nose, and I intend to play it until the next one comes out.
Sure if they would have competed I would say Madden would have probably lost and went out of business. But that is assuming 2k would have continued to advance as well over time.
But that review you posted is absolute, excuse me language, bull ****. At least in my opinion, those video reviews of 2k5 look absolute aweful. How can you ever compare the two, really? And then say 2k5 is better. Sure 2k was ahead of it's time but that time has passed now, get over it. I probably sound really madden fanboyish but remind you I played 2k5. I quit playing it after 3 years, it was a great game but time moves on, it is 4-5 years outdated.
@baseball: The legacy scores and how to improve players/help coaches. The game actually gives you something to achieve that is long term, unlike 2k5 where winning the super bowl is pretty much the end of the game.
EDIT: Oh and if you guys go only by video reviews. Here you go, done my the same guy that did the 2k5 Vs. Madden 12 video. LinkEdited by Mresuperstar on 04-09-2012 02:47
I don't get your point by saying they "ditched" franchise mode. Connect careers is franchise mode 2.0 just with a different name. If you chose to be a coach it is virtually the same barring you can't edit players, fantasy draft, or import draft classes. But the ratings, imo, are spot on. Fantasy drafts would have been impossible to do with all the new features connect careers brought with the news center, which acts like post-week wrap up. Also would have caused trouble with the legacy score system probably. And they had to drop draft classes because they didn't have time to fix the problems with it. (It isn't PCM where they release super bugged features that get fixed in a patch months later). So you can probably look for that back in 2014. But in it's place the prospects that you can draft you get to know well because of the background you get week after week by scouting them and seeing them on the news center.
Even with those 3 things, connect careers is by far the best franchise mode I have seen or played.
End of debate, for me.
EDIT: Again very sorry jdog for clogging your story. But I thought it had to be said. And good luck in the playoffs, because I don't see any reason for your amazing winning streak to end

But why was it packaged differently? The improvements could have been made seperatly. The "new mode" thing is a gimmick. It's settled. Let's read the story.
