Thanks, tmobile. Sorry it's been so long without a report... you have no idea how busy I've been. Hopefully I'll have some more time over Christmas Break.

Well, I am sorry to declare that I am stoping my story. I just downloaded the Pre-Beta version of the 2012 db and I am looking forward to downloading and playing the full version when it comes. It will be nice to just play without the presure of a story. Mabye in a couple months I'll get bored and pick up where I started, or even start a new story with Radioshack-Nissan-Trek. Untill then, goodbye.

Mr_Monk

Cool! Had a weird thought when I saw this that that could happen. So, where were we?

Season Recap

In the tdu McEwen consistently placed in the top 10 for each stage. Also, Muravyev pickked up a stage win from a breakaway. In the final overall rankings McEwen finished 4th, Hunter 5th, and Rast 7th.

In the Tour of Qatar McEwen once again consistently placed in the top 10 of each stage, but a podium place continued to elude him. In the final GC Rast finished 4th, but that was only because a crash took out most of the favorites.

In the Vuelta a Andalucia Radioshack dominated the prolouge with Kloden winning the stage an Radioshack claiming 7 of the firsts 8 spots! Over the course of the race Kloden would lose the lead to Garzelli by 7 seconds and would have to settle for 2nd.

A few days later Klodie would win the Classica Sarda Sassari-Cagliari. He would also finish 4th in the Strande Bianche. Now he heads to Paris-Nice to try and finish on the podium.

Team Meeting
The small hill toward the end might be too much for McEwen, but Rast will protect him and try to get him over the hill in the first half of the peleton. Beppu will try to get in the break.

img525.imageshack.us/img525/8031/pcm0002i.jpg
Beppu managed to get into the break with Van Emden, Claude, Bellis, Ligthart, Ista, and Mangel.

img822.imageshack.us/img822/4619/pcm0003a.jpg
As the break begins the climb up the Cote de Becoup (27 K) the break still has a 2:56 lead on the pack! Will they make it to the finish?

With 800 meters to the summit Beppu is struggling to stay in contact and Ligthart attacks. They have 2:08 on the pack.
img15.imageshack.us/img15/3503/pcm0004w.jpg

img545.imageshack.us/img545/5121/pcm0005z.jpg
Ista is the only one that can stick with Ligthart over the top of the climb. With a 2:01 lead the break has a good chance to succeed.

The peloton takes lots of risks on the decent and they catch the breakaway with 9 K to go. Rast fights Sagan for Greipel's wheel while McEwen flollows Rast.
img713.imageshack.us/img713/5967/pcm0006f.jpg

img13.imageshack.us/img13/7466/pcm0007r.jpg
At 3 K Rast quits fighting Sagan and brings Robbie to the front. The Garmin train is Maaskant -> Hushovd -> Greipel -> Sagan -> Domoulin -> Hondo -> Cioleck -> Davis.

img209.imageshack.us/img209/522/pcm0008.jpg
Hushovd is in the lead going under the 1 km banner, but Robbie has lost a lot of ground.

img850.imageshack.us/img850/6978/pcm0009o.jpg
With 100 meters the God of Thunder is still in the lead, but Sagan has been patient and makes his move.

Team Meeting
This stage could go to the sprinters, puncheurs, or the breakaway. Because of the three possibilities we will have Kloden stay near the front of the peleton counter-attack any attempts to get away by the overall contenders near the finish. McEwen will be protected and try to stay in contact for as long as possible in case it comes down to a mass sprint. Rast will try to get in the breakaway in case it makes it to the line.

img827.imageshack.us/img827/7620/pcm0004r.jpg
Rast joins Tanner, Mori, Pidgornyy, and Danniel Moreno in todays break.

img687.imageshack.us/img687/4882/pcm0005w.jpg
The break fractures on the Cole du Joncin (95 K to go) and Moreno and Pidgornyy continue on together.

img59.imageshack.us/img59/5081/pcm0007p.jpg
When the peleton goes over the Cole du Joncin McEwen gets dropped along with Hondo, Carrara, Hoogerland, Nieve, Roche, Matthews, Davis, Ciolek, and Bennati. It would take them over 30 km to regain contact with the bunch.

img256.imageshack.us/img256/2474/pcm0008ex.jpg
With 66 K to go Moreno and Pdgornyy have a 4:47 lead on the pack and Cancellara attacks! He is followed by Flecha, Finetto, and Gavazzi.

img585.imageshack.us/img585/7872/pcm0009f.jpg
Moreno drops Pidgornyy on the second to last climb. Moreno has 1:55 on Fabian's group, who have 2:10 on the Peleton.
img856.imageshack.us/img856/1310/pcm0010s.jpg

img198.imageshack.us/img198/3151/pcm0011s.jpg
Once again the peleton splits and those left out include mcEwen, Hoogerland, Bennati, and race leader Andre Greipel!

img812.imageshack.us/img812/9976/pcm0012.jpg
Aerts and De Greef would dropback to try to pace Greipel back to the front, but they would not be able to and the Yellow Jersey is up for grabs!

img269.imageshack.us/img269/310/pcm0013xe.jpg
Moreno goes over the top of the final climb with a 1:31 lead on Cancellara's group and a 4:21 lead on the field.

img94.imageshack.us/img94/9098/pcm0014d.jpg
With 3.5 K to go Spartacus, Finetto, and Gavezzi make it up to Moreno. They have a 1:28 lead on Flecha and 4:15 on the peleton.

img94.imageshack.us/img94/6221/pcm0015a.jpg
Finetto is in the lead going under the 1 km banner, but Fabian once again proves that he deserves the title Spartacus as he rockets away from the others with 500 meters to the line!
img833.imageshack.us/img833/2092/pcm0017.jpg

img835.imageshack.us/img835/7291/pcm0019u.jpg
Fabian easily wins and proves that he is the main favorite heading into the cobbled classics.

In the peleton there is a mass crash just outside 3 km (sorry about no pic). Everyone involved would lose time. Some of the names are Hesjedal, Uran, A. Schleck, F. Schleck, Bruseghin, Nieve, Coppel, Kreuziger, Roche, and Wiggins. Voeckler, Gadret, Rolland, Van Garderen, and Kloden are the only favorites that didn't lose any time today. Mainy riders were forced to abandon because of injuries sustained in the crash. Amoung them were Martijn Maaskant (patellar tendon tear - return end April), Blel Kadri (broken neck - return mid April), Christophe Le Mevel (broken neck - return end March), and Johann Tschopp (patellar tendon tear - return end April).

img155.imageshack.us/img155/2629/pcm0020b.jpg
Hushovd beats out Sagan in the sprint for 6th place.

That's one nasty crash....
Have you thought about finishing the reports from Paris-Nice first, before starting the Tirreno?? I thik it's confusing to see 2 big races running through each other.

You mean writing the Tirreno reports but not posting them but saving them in Word or something for after Paris Nice?

Team Meeting
Busche will protect Klodie while the rest of the team try to keep the break within reach. When we get to the final climb Klodie will attack or counter-attack to try and gain time on Cancellara.

img542.imageshack.us/img542/3/pcm0003j.jpg
R. Perez, Lewis, and F. Perez make up today's breakaway.

img525.imageshack.us/img525/7167/pcm0004v.jpg
With 110 K to go Martens and Roche attack out of the field. They would make it up to the leaders 35 km later.

img337.imageshack.us/img337/4151/pcm0005x.jpg
At 68 K Nieve attacks and quickly bridges up to the breakaway, who only have a minute and a half on the peleton.

img338.imageshack.us/img338/8379/pcm0007e.jpg
Nieve's addition causes the break to fracture. Nieve, Roche, and F. Perez soldier on alone. Their lead goes up to 3 minutes with 50 K to go. Also, Kreuziger is surprisingly dropped from the peleton on a climb.

At the base of the final climb the leaders have 1:47 on the pack. Voeckler tries his luck and attacks.
img39.imageshack.us/img39/1917/pcm0008k.jpg

img163.imageshack.us/img163/6530/pcm0009iv.jpg
At 12 K Voeckler makes it up to the break, but the peleton is only 32 seconds behind.

img442.imageshack.us/img442/1420/pcm0010k.jpg
1 kilometer later the peleton comes back together due to several attacks, but no one is able to get away.

img824.imageshack.us/img824/458/pcm0011a.jpg
At 9 K Fabian gets tailed off the back and all of Leopard-Trek (including the Schlecks) drop back to help him. Klodie takes this oportunity to attack!
img835.imageshack.us/img835/1654/pcm0012b.jpg

img857.imageshack.us/img857/9241/pcm0013.jpg
Going over the top of the climb (8 K to go) Klodie has a measly 20 seconds over the peleton. He only has 1:17 on Cancellara.

img225.imageshack.us/img225/9269/pcm0014b.jpg
Kloden is caught with 3 K to go.

img442.imageshack.us/img442/507/pcm0015g.jpg
Thomas Lofkvist has really good legs and outsprints Sagan for the win. Klodie finishes within the group and will get the same time.

img692.imageshack.us/img692/5496/pcm0016u.jpg
Spartacus comes through 2:25 later and will keep his yellow jersey by 1 second over Moreno.

Sereveral riders didn't make the time cut. Some of those were McEwen, Bozic, JJ Haedo, Renshaw, and suprsingly... Bradley Wiggins, who must of crashed, but he doesn't have any injuries. Weird.

Team Meeting
Klodie will look to move up in the overall with a good time trial.

img140.imageshack.us/img140/4882/pcm0005w.jpg
Dutch National TT champion Josh Van Emden sets the early best time at 39:05.

img515.imageshack.us/img515/816/pcm0006h.jpg
Van Emden's time would stand untill Romain Kreuziger comes through 15 seconds quicker.

img856.imageshack.us/img856/4639/pcm0009u.jpg
Gustov Erik Larrson crosses the line 30 seconds faster than Kreuziger.

img707.imageshack.us/img707/8307/pcm0012c.jpg
Bruseghin has a storming ride and finishes 9 seconds ahead of Larsson.

img594.imageshack.us/img594/9241/pcm0013.jpg
Klodie will have some time to make up as he goes through the checkpoint 34 seconds behind Bruseghin's time.

img651.imageshack.us/img651/3152/pcm0014v.jpg
Fan favorite Jens Voigt had a good ride, coming in at the current second place, 8 seconds back.

img52.imageshack.us/img52/9403/pcm0015r.jpg
Klodie makes up lots of time on the second half of the course and finishes 46 seconds ahead of Bruseghin!

img528.imageshack.us/img528/3956/pcm0016d.jpg
Race leader Fabian Cancellara goes through the checkpoint 20 seconds ahead of Bruseghin.

img812.imageshack.us/img812/9020/pcm0017c.jpg
With 2 k to the finish Fabian passes Moreno and is looking like he will take the win away from Klodie.

img822.imageshack.us/img822/1404/pcm0018.jpg
Cancellara surprisingly crosses the line 11 seconds behind Kloden! An amazing victory for Andreas Kloden!
