Vuelta al Tachira (C2) Discussion
Here we are in Venezuela for the Vuelta al Tachira. 9 stages of all different terrain. The Continental Grand Tour if you will!
4 flat stages, 1 hilly stage, 1 MTT and 3 large mountain stages to finish off the race and find out who will win the overall.

An interesting race which has a very important mountain time trial which will separate the field. This is where Seboka will struggle to capitilise on his superior mountain stat. Cattaneo looks like a strong contendor with his great TT stat. However, he will have a strong contest from Habtemichael who could take some important time in the hills.
This race is very wide open and could be won by a handful of riders. There is no stand out favourite here and should prove to be a very exciting GC battle. All I know is the mountain TT will be critical in this race!
| Rider | FL | SP | AC | ST | RS | RC | Perera | 71 | 79 | 80 | 69 | 73 | 77 | Gibbons | 75 | 78 | 78 | 73 | 72 | 73 | Marin | 74 | 78 | 78 | 73 | 73 | 76 | Silva | 75 | 77 | 78 | 69 | 70 | 77 | Harrison | 71 | 77 | 80 | 72 | 69 | 74 | Ganjkhanlou | 73 | 77 | 79 | 70 | 70 | 76 | Major | 74 | 77 | 78 | 74 | 70 | 74 | Page | 71 | 76 | 78 | 73 | 70 | 75 | Russo | 73 | 76 | 78 | 73 | 73 | 76 | Eislers | 74 | 76 | 75 | 71 | 68 | 74 | Mudgway | 70 | 76 | 78 | 71 | 66 | 76 | Sinclair | 70 | 76 | 75 | 69 | 70 | 74 | Andersson | 71 | 76 | 76 | 74 | 73 | 76 | Kelly | 74 | 75 | 77 | 69 | 73 | 66 |
The sprint stages will be quite exciting. Perera should be the big favourite. He comes with great support as well.
Gibbons, Marin, Silva, Harrison, Ganjkhanlou and Major will all be competitors for the stages as well and could cause an upset for the favourites.
The other competitors for a stage or the top 5 are Page, Russo, Eislers, Mudgway, Sinclair, Andersson and Kelly. All riders should have a chance at competiting but it will be hard to beat Perera.
Should be an exciting race in all aspects and very excited for it!

Hoping for some fun racing, if Potocki gets any GC points that's an added bonus!
Thanks for the preview Jak!

Thanks for the preview!
We're here to fight for stages, maybe the KoM, and see what Berthet can do in this type of races.
Not sure why I brought Politt without a flat ITT and Darbynian though.
Good luck everyone!

First things first, this might be a disaster for Gibbons top 3 favorite and we brought no sprint train so I can't see that going well have to rearrange his hopes to just get some top 10s and hope we get better startlists that allow him to surf the wheels in the future
Now Smith on the other hand this really couldn't have been a better startlists for him to ride against I really fancy his chances in the TT (id say might be a MM not a MO TT) which will suit him really well looking at that startlists. Having no other climbers that are high STA is basically ideal and his high hill stat could really help if one of the last few stages end in an uphill sprint overall very excited should be a top 5 but I think we can now dream of a win |

Seems like a decent opportunity for Munoz to get away with something, hopefully he's able to do so. Great preview, jakstar!

Habtemichael, Buitrago, Borisavljevic. Difficult to root for everyone, but there are three spots on the podium

Schultz not even being mentioned scares me for our general results from this. I'll have to hope he can surprise and get a good result in the GC
Other than that, will be interesting to see what Russo can do!

Thanks for the preview Jakstar.
First Kraftwerk appearances for both Habtemichael and Harrison.
Hoping the Hill and Mountain TT stages allow Habtemichael to gain some time.
Anything from Harrison will be a bonus.
We need a result here to get our points tally back on track.

Back to C2 for the first time since 2020! Tachira was the first GC win for my team (Jocelin Maillet back in 2014 as La Vie Claire) so couldn't miss the opportunity to ride it again. No great GC hopes but maybe Page can surprise in the sprints. |

We've got good history at this race but don't think we'll be adding to it this year unless we get really lucky, at least it's the last of our C2 races for the year.

Don't know if I should be happy that the game thinks Russo is strong enough to warrant a train, or if I should be scared by it by really not having any leadout riders...

As expected from Gibbons, a very a bad manager's choice here to not bring a leadout, but congrats to Ethiopian for a dominant sprint |

Nice to see our jersey out front even if Al Mutaiwei couldn't survive long enough to reach the sprint point and the bonus seconds.

Not a bad start, around what I think we would have expected in this field. Nice to see Mihkels up there and getting to wear a 'special' jersey, hopefully the first of many! |
