[PTHC] Tour De Suisse

Kudus starts as an overwhelming favourite with his strong advantage in the Mountains but reigning two time winner Bernal has to start 2nd favourite with him already showing a real liking for this parcour and has to be feared. Rodrigues, Oomen, and McNulty all should take a liking to this course with the two TTs
while Meintjes and Novak could be two riders looking to light up the mountains with attacks throughout.
With one of the hilly stages on the parkour ending in Hilltop sprints Ardila has to go into those as a favourite following his 2nd in Fleche Wallone behind MAL.
While another hilly stage with a flat ending bringing the likes of Cerny, Lienhard and Drizners a realistic chance of a big stage win.
The pure sprint stage has a limited field but Bol is on paper the best sprinter and could make a splash for his team while Mareczko probably has the most realistic non-breakaway PCT stage win hope in that stage.
With the prologue almost certainly a PT winner as Andersen, Chavanne and Leung battle it out in the 5km course.

I had the intention to sign a second GC leader next to Cattaneo, but with that not happening and this race clashing with Dauphine we'll have to do with this squad. Maybe Vosekalns can get into a break somewhere or Jiang can surprise in the prologue, but with not even a sprinter it will be breakaway luck.

This is exciting! If we are lucky with AI treatment and gaps on the most difficult stages, this can be a great race for Novak. If the difficult stages are not that selective and he isn’t getting nice treatment due to the prolog ur and the TT, this will be a very poor race
Very curious to find out which of the two scenarios that will play out here, or most likely something anywhere inbetween! |

Could really do with a big performance from Choi here, ideally pushing for a Top 5. Going to be tough though as it's a strong start list with some very capable riders. Hesters here for the sprints looks like he'll have a chance to go for a stage win too. Finkler may even have a say in the Hills.
Thanks for the preview and good luck to all

Should be an interesting race. I'm hoping Meintjes can perform well here. It's not the race he's most suited for, but at least a Top 10 result should be in the cards. And then I'm really hoping for some breakaway presence with Teuns and Ndayisenga, and maybe minor GC points for Uwizeyimana. Good luck everyone, and thanks for the preview!

Thanks jt for the preview! Hopefully we can score some points here in the stages itself and maybe Quintana a minor GC.

Strong startlist here. Hopefully Cort can do a decent race, and then we also have some others who can chase some stage glory here and there.
Kudus the big favourite of course, but will be interesting to see how Bernal looks compared to him, following that Vuelta win.

This really show the difference between PT and PCT. At PCT level we would have been reasonably strong here atleast depth wise. Here and with that starting list we are just here to fill up the gaps.
Let's hope for some aggressive riding when we don't have any sort of favorites anywhere.

Should be a tough race to crack. A top5 would be pretty good, but I'm not that optimistic about Rodrigues' chances.
Thanks for the preview, jt!

Yeah, there was a time where I was looking forward to our home race. Not with my riders' current form, though.
Top3 in the prologue is a must for Gabby, winning would be lovely but against all odds.
Groves would be competitive in stages 2, 3 and 5, but with Bol I'd be surprised to get even just one Top 10.
And for the GC, Stüssi will once again suffer from his bad PRL. But if the mountain stages aren't ridden too hard - which I hope, given that neither S4 nor S6 look too hard (no long, steep climbs that is), he could still get a decent result. Same for Darbellay, just a level lower.
Would be nice to get some good points from here, but I was more positive pre-season that I currently am.
Thanks for the preview, good luck to all.

Great chance for McNulty to do something great. Unfortunately I could only send 6 riders here, but Chaiyasombat, Fung and Quita should be a great support.
Leung and Matsuda are here for the prologue! |

Looks like another planning blunder on my end.

Pretty solid ride by Meintjes. Limits his losses to the better TTists, gains on the likes of Novak or Ardila (even Stüssi), that's really all you can ask for. Similarly, decent ride by Uwizeyimana, too. Let's see if Willems can do something tomorrow, and then the real racing begins.

Kragh is such a beauty
That looks to have been a monster prologue as well, both the winning margin and seeing how few riders are inside 20 seconds, 60 or so riders feels like not many on such a distance. Quietly hopeful it makes Kragh try his luck on stage 2 as well, and not give Santos the chance on the stage. Suspect Kragh could be the better play for a good stage finish.
Novak got a lot of work to do, which was expected after the prologue. I must hope he can grab bonus seconds and be on the front foot on stage 3, 4 and 5, before stage 6 looks to maybe be the Queen stage here. |

Hate it. Gabby once again draws the short straw and gets just the minimum. And SKA@PCM22 is just ridiculous, guy is completely OP with this version. Game version change was a real game changer for him... Too much randomness isn't good for the game, but none at all isn't any better, either. Guess ITTs are fine with surprise results every now or then, would've liked to see that in prologues as well...
Hopefully we'll still get a stage win somehow, seems like Bol should be among the favourites tomorrow - whatever that means in his 2024 "form". Stüssi will have to enter damage limitation mode for the next 5 days, until the final stage should be a bit more in his favour.
Thanks for the report.
