halo dan selamat datang di tim kami untuk musim berikutnya - kami berjanji untuk memperbaruinya kali ini!
Welcome to our team HQ for the 2024 season! After a both very successful, and incredibly disappointing season, we remain in the PCT division for another year.

Tujuan dan Informasi tim jangka panjang
"Long term team goals and other information"
After 9 seasons in the professional peloton, we made an unintentional run at promotion back to the PT last season but fell agonisingly short. Eddie Dunbar & Adam Yates had stand-out seasons supported by our predominantly Indonesian roster, propelling the team from the relegation slog of previous seasons to a comfortable 6th position in the PCT standings. Dunbar had his best season to date, finishing 2nd in the individual rankings with a mighty fine 1076 points and repaying the faith the team has put in him.

For the upcoming season, we are looking to continue our goal of bringing cycling to Indonesia, identifying and developing local Indonesian talent & continuing to represent the country in the professional peloton. We had a lean year acquiring talents with Prasetyo Firdaus the only promising Indonesian brought into the team in the past season, this is something we hope to change in the lead up to the new year. We have a terrific crop of young riders that have taken a step in their development over the last season, with riders like Mu Yudha and Ahmad Firdaus already ready to contribute to the team. Brother Prasetyo Firdaus had a wonderful neo-pro season last year, riding aggressively and scoring a solid number of points (relative to his ability).

Our local race, Tour of East Java, was the highlight of our season. For once we came prepared with a solid GC option in Adam Yates who rode fantastically well to finish on the podium in 3rd, our best result in our home race to date!

Yates definitely had an awesome season, in particular in your home PTHC race!
Looking forward to see what your plans are to leverage some training funds for your Indonesians Smile
Good luck for transfers & the upcoming season - I really hope you'll not miss out on promotion by 8 points again, in the only season for ages where there's no PT disband... Really bad luck, hopefully you'll be on the bright side after the 2024 season Smile

The boys and their manager are going to be back with a vengeance after that awful Japan AI. Wouldn't want to be any of the other PCT teams, an already promotion-level team should only get better between transfers and training with a fair bit of cap space still to work with Grin

@Fab: He did, he's such a well rounded rider for PCT that although he doesn't have the same MT ability of riders like Padun or Oomen, he can definitely match them. We shall see, 8 points sucks for sure. There might be some surprises during transfers to keep things fresh - we might not be in such a 'privileged' position afterwards. Dunbar and Yates had almost career seasons, and Dunbar has lost another 2 races from the calendar that suit him. We will see Smile

@jandal: Not too sure about that, I do have one crazy plan i've concocted that would be chaotic but would make things very interesting for next season - there would be no hope of promotion if we go that route though Smile

2023 Season review

A brief review..

We went into the season with no expectations; just happy to be here and to most likely not be in relegation trouble for the first time in a few seasons. It had been a long slog since we were relegated from PT, along with the then masochistic decision to sign recently maxed Dunbar from the free agency for a stupid $815k in our first season back in PCT which has caused the team to struggle since then.

After a quiet start to the season, Dunbar and Abdul Halil's season began and from the outset were in great form and scoring well. Yates eventually added to this too, riding well in each race he entered. We had a few dud results early on too, with our TTT squad forgetting how to ride their bikes in a couple of races which cost us in Romandie and Pais Vasco namely.

Each rankings update was more favourable than the last, and our pre-season prediction of mid-table mediocrity seemed to be quite far off. We were nestled in the promotion places for much of the second half of the season all the way up until the final race day, where 8 points was the margin between promotion. Unfortunately, we were on the wrong side of the point split and missed out by the tiniest of margins. Whilst it sucks, Dunbar and Yates both had phenomenal seasons - Dunbar beating his previous seasons' total by almost 200 and Yates getting up around 900 points also. Abdul Halil defied expectations too - he rode without support in most races and did exceptionally well also. Our depth let us down this season, with our climbers and puncheurs failing to add many depth points at all throughout the season.

The highlights of the season were Yates' performance in our home race in Java, and Indonesian riders winning 3 stages throughout - which also included the first Indonesian rider to win a stage riding for our team (or possibly ever?!). It may have taken 9 seasons, but hopefully the floodgates are open now and the team can add to that total next year.

@bbl: Maybe Smile Besides the last few months of last season, promotion has never really been a goal of ours (at least at this point). It would certainly be nice to be back up in PT with that sweet wage cap and cash injection, but i'm not convinced even with the same team we would score as well next season. Dunbar alone has had two races he scores well in have their profiles changed, and can Yates have another season like this? Who knows Smile

We went into renewals hoping to quell Dunbar & Yates' inevitable large wage demands after their fantastic respective seasons and think we did well enough keeping the status quo.

Dunbar is still potentially overpaid considering his OVL, but definitely not once you consider his performances so you can't be too disappointed with him taking the same wage into next season.

Yates' demands weren't too crazy considering his incredible season, and was happy to take a small wage cut even. Abdul Halil finally got paid which is more than fair - he maxed out last season as an 81sp and accepted a 130k wage in his first maxed year so we were more than happy to get out the checkbook for him after his initial sacrifice. He's still decently priced considering his results from the past season too, so happy all round.

Nur Hasan had a fantastic first maxed season, and took a small cut despite nabbing a few victories. Arifin and Abdurrahman also took small cuts.

Besides Dunbar and Yates, Ahmad Firdaus was our biggest concern heading into our negotiation period. We signed him initially from the FA for a large fee a couple of seasons ago, and couldn't get him to agree to a smaller wage last season. We finally got him to budge and unfortunately have to be happy with him taking the cut he has - we couldn't risk offending him again. Yudha has returned after spending his last year of development at Binance, and believes his new abilities warranted a wage increase also.

Venturini was another FA signing from last season and happily accepted a smaller wage. Prasetyo Firdaus als o for whatever reason would accept no less than 60k - a strange hill to die on, but we weren't willing to lose Indonesia's most promising TT'er over 10k. He must get the greediness from his brother.

Kochetkov, Salinas and Kolar all were released and not offered new contracts. The former two due to age, and the latter due to his underwhelming performances over the past two seasons. Kolar was brought in to be a 'cheat code' in C2 races, and failed miserably. Despite this, he wanted to be wined, dined, and have a lifetime supply of Indonesian rendang for signing another contract with us but was swiftly booted to the street instead.
Summary
Overall, a very 'boring' renewal period, which is not a complaint at all. Dunbar and Yates accepted the same wage (more or less) and A. Firdaus was able to be talked off the ledge. Abdul Halil was expected to want an increase, and deservedly got it.

This leaves us with 17 riders heading into the transfer period, and an ok amount of cap space. We will have our rider availabilities up sometime in the next few days, which might bring a few surprises and curveballs. We can say that we anticipate a busy transfer period.

Think you have to be happy with Dunbar staying at 500k, solid wage for a guy like that. Nice work on the Firdaus negotiation too, even if it is a little late in coming which is frustrating it's a good cut!

Hum... could this be the year I'll need to rob a bank? You obviously know that one of your riders would be an awesome fit for our roster structure...

AbhishekLFC
Think that is a solid team that can build on last year's performance and go for promotion again. Will be interesting to see what kind of personnel changes you are planning with your comments on availabilities as I hardly see any need to change up a winning formula.

Eden95
@jandal: Oh definitely, very happy with him staying put at 500k. I was dreading a huge increase which didn't happen thankfully.

@Fab: Never say never, but yes an extremely good deal + a few other things would have to fall into place which might not be the most likely scenario.

@Abhi: I understand and totally agree, but what kind of fun is the transfer period if it isn't for blowing your team up every other year Smile

Transfer availability
As with every transfers, we are willing to negotiate a deal for any of our riders. The 'availability' list below is more a reflection of how likely we see each rider leaving the team during transfers, and the 'lower' the rating the better the offer will have to be for the offer to be considered.

We have few different visions for the coming transfer period, and that means we may need to revenue raise a little.

Whilst I don't see Dunbar leaving, if we receive a good enough (very, very, very good) offer we will have to check our small shortlist of riders to make sure a replacement is available before moving forward. Our shortlisted riders would not be cheap, so if he is to leave it will have to be quite a lopsided deal as you would imagine.

Yates had a fantastic season, and we would like keep him around for another year. We do also need to make a sale or two and as a result, if a good enough offer comes in it will be considered. It will have to quite a decent offer however if he is to leave.

Abdul Halil also had a great season and whilst we would be reluctant to let him go, through process of elimination he would be the easiest rider to replace if he were to leave. Would have to be a decent offer, but obviously nowhere near the level of Yates/Dunbar.

We will most likely be looking to move on our leadouts, Gani and Venturini. They could leave with a modest cash offer, or in some kind of swap scenario.

A. Firdaus and Wibisono will need to be loaned to PT. Both will be handy riders, especially Firdaus who will be one of the better lvl 4 riders looking for a PT loan this season and could actually score a few points.

Cahyadi, Wolf and Arif Prayogo are all available if the right offer comes in. Arif Prayogo and Wolf are still very much an integral part of the team and would only leave if we need raise some funds during transfers. Cahyadi is free to leave for the right offer, but presumably as part of a swap with his stats.

After getting within 8 hours of Firdaus a couple of seasons ago, him spending some time at Xero doesn't sound bad, even if I don't know how well it would fit my plans Pfft Don't sell Wibisono short either, would be a very handy loanee for any PT team!

Wibisono had fun at LPH before, why not let him come back to some former teammates? Grin

Yates, Dunbar and that other former LPH loanee Abdul Halil have showed to be a nice trio of leaders, so they should hopefully catapult you into PT this season. Another congratulations on the Indonesian wins btw, always love a good story!

It's very impressive how you managed to build such a big and talented Indonesian core to your team. From the perspective of a Thai team we can certainly learn something from our Indonesian neighbours regarding regional focus and talent development.
If your riders seeking a PT loan don't want to move to far away from their home base, we can surely discuss something during transfers. Smile
