Thanks for the preview!
We've had some decent results last season here. We're here for stage glory and KoM/ Let's hope the team is up to the task!

Thank you for the preview
Top-5 is the goal, and perhaps Aular is able to do even better. Podium'ing would be great. Maybe our good mountain domestiques compared to some of the other top 5/10 favourites can make the difference.
Good luck to everyone.

Very interesting race for us. We come without a GC contender, leaving Meintjes at home, but with Ndayisenga, Eyob and Tesfatsion, we have three very capable climbers who should hopefully go all out for the breakaway. I'll be disappointed if we're not in the breakaway in at least three of the four road stages, and hopefully we can compete for the mountain jersey.
Thanks for the preview Laurens and good luck everyone!

Not to be dramatic but if Bennett gets fucked over again I'm gonna lose my freaking mind

I'm a bit surprised by the relatively weaker startlist, note sure if the team can handle being the top favourite.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

That is a much weaker startlist than I would have thought, very surprising. The pressure is on now for Yates to get a good result though - he’s been awesome so far this season, so let’s hope he can keep it going. A top-5 is an absolute must with this field, a podium would be amazing. Oomen and Padun are scary of course, but there’s no reason Yates can’t hang with the big boys.
Thanks for the preview, and good luck to everyone

Being mostly mountains I would expect Madeazo to be up there in the GC. He should be considering mountains are his strength. I also expect him to do well in the Mountain ITT considering previous MTT that have happened it mainly favours that stat. Should be an interesting race and really hoping and excited for a strong race from the squad. I honestly feel this race can start to show if we are relegating or surviving this season!!

Wow, that's a pretty weak startlist indeed. Expect Oomen to double up on the Eritrea win, the MTT should favour him over Padun with the TT stat apparently having more of an impact this year. But I'm hoping for a big duel for the win between these two.
Yates could have the edge over Bennett, Madrazo or Aular thanks to his great kick, but the others are better pure climbers - on paper. Aular has delivered in Eritrea, though, whereas Bennett and Madrazo are yet to deliver a big result... Would be fitting for Xero's crazy month if Bennett went nuts as well now
Thanks for the preview, and good luck to everyone!

For us the goal should be to fight for the win at the U25 classement. Looks good but will be a hard battle with our columbian/mexican friends it seems. I hope Schelling has something left to beat them and hopefully the team overall doesnt do anything dumb

So far, so good. In a vacuum, I would've thought Tesfatsion is a stronger climber than Hindley, but provisional second place in the KoM could be a good base from which to attack again in future stages. Also, very clever from Ndayisenga to lose almost 10 minutes on one stage already, anticipating a breakaway attempt soon, I hope
Congrats Eden for the stage win, and nice to see Aular doing well, too!

Great stuff by Aular. Just comes short for his first win for us, but nevertheless able to get time on most of the top-3/5 opponents. It can all change quickly of course in this race, but still good to see him start the race like that and already score some points. Osorio not amazing in GC, but if he can make sure Aular stays high it's all okay. Nice to see Beltran 3rd in U25 as well.
Congratulations to Eden on the very nice win, and thank you for the great report, kandesbunzler!

Thanks! What a way to start! Stage 1 & 3 are the two I am fearing the most, and Yates quickly shut those fears down for this stage at least. It looked like we always had a few guys around the front, and then Yates looked like he did most of the work up the last climb and rode very aggressively to ride almost everyone off his wheel - even if he capitulates at some point here, he’s such a fun rider to watch
We should keep the lead tomorrow, but the big test comes on stage 4 and the MTT I think. I can see the likes of Padun and Oomen attacking early on s3 and making that final climb very difficult. Anyway, should be fun
Thanks for the lovely report

Decent start for Madrazo. 12th and not far back on GC. He can definitely get a top 10 or better if he can stick with the favourites and have a good Mountain ITT. Good start!

Amazing win by Würth Modyf. Congratulations Ezee!
For Aular it's good that less opponents were able to grab bonus seconds as well. But have to say I never imagined Ruiz to finish eighth on a mountain stage. Great ride by him. Osorio not giving up the fight for U25 is nice to see. As well as Beltran hanging on to third there.
Thanks for another superb report, kb.

After seeing the startlist, I didn't think there were chances for me to gain any points here.
Good job Reguigui! Entering the KOM battle and a good stage result - the turtles will leave happy!
