Welcome to the 16th edition of Fleche Wallonne. This is the 2nd of the three Ardenne classics this week. It's a race that the top puncheurs in PT eye up as they continue their build-up into Liege - Bastogne - Liege. Today the riders are in Charleroi, the race will take them just under 200 kilometers to Huy and a finish on top of the famed Mur de Huy,
With that said let's look at some of the favourites:
| FL | MO | HI | ST | RS | SP | AC | De Bie | 73 | 71 | 84 | 77 | 76 | 72 | 75 | Lutsenko | 69 | 73 | 83 | 76 | 73 | 72 | 81 | Sagan | 72 | 74 | 83 | 78 | 74 | 73 | 76 | Yates | 74 | 70 | 81 | 77 | 70 | 77 | 80 | Lopez | 70 | 79 | 84 | 76 | 74 | 66 | 78 | Skujins | 70 | 70 | 83 | 80 | 77 | 68 | 76 | Mohoric | 72 | 71 | 83 | 78 | 72 | 67 | 77 | Koretzky | 73 | 71 | 81 | 77 | 70 | 71 | 79 |
De Bie comes in as defending champion from last year and might be the top favourite again. Lutsenko should be one of the favourites, but he only podiumed here for the first time last year. Maybe he's slowly getting better? Sagan is another who you would think would've cracked this race before, last chance now? Yates is newer on the scene, but his uphill sprint is always a danger. Lopez on the other hand will hope that the Mur will be hard enough for his climbing skills. Skujins and Mohoric have to be on this list as 83 hill riders, even if they sometimes don't perform to that standard. Conversely Koretzky seems to overperform more often than not.
| FL | MO | HI | ST | RS | SP | AC | Bobridge | 72 | 68 | 82 | 73 | 73 | 68 | 79 | Kelderman | 70 | 71 | 82 | 80 | 75 | 67 | 72 | Gidich | 72 | 76 | 82 | 78 | 77 | 62 | 75 | Kwiatkowski | 72 | 78 | 81 | 74 | 76 | 67 | 75 | Vakoc | 71 | 71 | 81 | 75 | 71 | 71 | 74 | Buchmann | 71 | 76 | 81 | 73 | 74 | 65 | 73 | Formolo | 72 | 79 | 80 | 76 | 76 | 69 | 71 | Eiking | 71 | 69 | 80 | 78 | 74 | 68 | 76 | Benoot | 71 | 75 | 80 | 75 | 74 | 69 | 71 | Ponzi | 72 | 69 | 80 | 71 | 66 | 72 | 74 | Müller | 70 | 65 | 80 | 76 | 71 | 66 | 73 | Izagirre | 70 | 73 | 80 | 72 | 71 | 59 | 63 | Turgis | 73 | 67 | 79 | 76 | 78 | 70 | 77 |
Bobridge is still a very explosive rider which is his best bet to cause an upset. Kelderman is a former winner way back in 2016, it's crazy to think that might have been his prime. Gidich would probably prefer a hard race, so not sure this one is best suited to him. Same for Kwiatkowski. Vakoc was runner-up last year, not to be underestimated. Buchmann and Müller will try to form a fighting duo. Eiking and Benoot are here on wildcards. Ponzi is the only two-time winner on the startlist, but he'll likely be in a super-domestique role.

Hopeful for this one, after Mohoric’s great win in Amstel. A top 10 should be doable, but then it can, at least looking at the startlist, be anything from 1st to 10th, meaning 4th-7th will be a good result here.
Holding MAL as the slight favourite, but this is really side open, as you would expect it to be a fairly big group hitting the Mur together for the final time. |

After Amstel i'm kinda hipeful for a good result from Bobridge. Tough startlist as ever, though. It won't be easy to take good points out of this race.
Thanks for the preview red!

On paper this fits Higuita but I fear we wont be able to work him well due to positioning.

Kelderman doesn't have the best track record in classics this season. So I,d be very happy with a top-10. Thanks for the preview, red

Another dreadful performance from Gidich, even beaten by his teammate. At least Sosa's 15th place combined with Gidich in 16th, Quita in 18th, Sarawut in 30 and Chiu in 33 will give us some depth points.
Congrats, knockout! |

Oh dear.
From having a record high last year, Koretzky is having a record low this season. I can’t remember him ever performing so bad over a whole season.

Congratulations on another win, knockout! The perfect warmup for LBL
Outstanding few hundred meters from Mohoric going from outside the top 10 and all the way to 6th on the line. Makes me wonder what could have been done with slightly better positioning. Still, 6th is a very credible result, so I’ll take it! |

Thanks everyone for the congrats and thanks for another great report!
Lopez with great positioning and proved that he was the strongest on the day. Much appreciated after he didnt have the best start of the season. But immediately the focus will have to go to the next race as LBL is coming soon!
Rest of the team looked like they made the important splits in good numbers but seems like they dropped back in the final climb(s?). Still, they delivered Lopez safely to the finish and helped to control all attacks so good job to them too.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!
