Post Danmark Rundt Preview
The Post Danmark Rundt has been on the MG calendar continuously from 2008 and is ready to host it's lucky 13th edition. After being in the Continental division last season, it is once again back to C1 and will showcase some of the leading PCT teams and a few CT teams competing for the win. The race profile remains similar, three sprint stages, one for the punchers, and arguably the decisive TT stage to end things off.
Omar Fraile, who won in 2019, and Jacob Fiedler, who won all the way back in 2015, are the only former winners back to try to win this race again, and become the first ever two-time winner. The former is one of the top favourites, while the latter has been on the decline in recent seasons, and hasn't been on top form recently.

As is the case with a lot of TT heavy races, Zmorka is the top favourite for today. He needs to be careful on the hill stage though, to prevent a possible repeat of what happened in Slovenia last month. Durbridge, Lammertink and Viennet are the next best prospects for this race, with all of them capable of handling their bikes over a hill. The likes of Fraile, who we have already talked about, Cosnefroy, Cataford, Oliveira and Coppel, are all better on the uphill stuff, and have better than good TT skills and should be considered among the podium contenders.
Fiedler, Gonzalez Salas and Kittel are good TT riders, but their support stats leave something to be desired.

Guerao is the fastest man on the bike, but not the most consistent. Kragh Andersen has had a wonderful season so far, and should be considered a top threat for the sprint stages. Zabel and Halvorsen have also had a good season so far and will want to continue the streak. Avelino and Guardini are the other fast men who would be looking to win one or more of the flat stages. One can never write-off the likes of Maksimov, Kristoff and Nelson for their sprint abilities.

Di Maggio is the strongest puncher on paper, but much like his sprinter teammate, he isn't the most consistent. Eiking and Prevar on the other hand are more consistent, and have been having good seasons for their respective teams. BNZ with a strong puncher setup in this race, with both Edmondson and Watson aiming for stage 3.

This can go so, so many ways for us. In this field, Perera should certainly be capable of surfing wheels to multiple Top 5 results, maybe even more. He might as well finish outside of the Top 10 three times. Similary, if Fiedler manages to hang on in the hills, he could be set for a Top 10. Or, if things get tough and Rosskopf somehow is in a small-ish group of favorites, he could make use of his 75hi/76tt combo to get high up in the GC. But, if the hills are not very selective but too hard for Fiedler, we could end up without a guy in the Top 30. So, I'm anxiously looking forward to the reports!

Hmmm certainly an interesting one when it comes to picking a favourite here.
I like to think it will be a TT dominant rider who can stick with a decent sized group on the slightly hilly stage. For that reason, I really have to back Cosnefroy here to hopefully deliver an amazing result for us. Thomas is here too but he may lose that time in the hills.
Not expecting much from Abdul Halil in the 2 sprint favoured stages but you never know!

As usual in C1 races we are throwing a lot of Time Triallers at it and hoping one of them hits gold.
Interesting to see Nelson in contention for the sprints. He actually is turning out to be a good signing...

This is as close as it gets to a home race this season. That should give us some extra motivation
It is risky territory considering Lammertink. Seeing the results from previous editions, we had to give it a go, but as others have written, it's in the blue if it's a hit or a miss. Hopefully at least either him or Vangstad get to challenge for a good GC position, depending on the key stage 3 and how it plays out. After all, with a C1 race, there's limited depth points on offer!

There was no need to bring back that painful Slovenia stage, Abhi 
A lot will depend on that hilly stage indeed, and if some puncheurs ride away, how much time Zmorka will lose. In the last couple of seasons tt'ists prevailed here, let's hope that trend continues.

Hope Kraftwerk can manage some stage results with Zabel and Kittel as our GC hope will probably fall to Dulanjana again and a top 20 is the best he can hope for.

Ah. Post Danmark Rundt. Our only home race in PCT, but also one that very rarely suits us. I think we even skipped it one year. On the other hand, when Steensen was at his peak, he had a great showing here with his uncharacteristically high hill. In general, the hilly stage isn't crazy selective, but still can be enough to put most time trialists out of it.
We're hoping as our best case scenario for a PCM 20 version of the Steensen result with Sterobo. Obviously his hill is completely trash. Our only hope is if the hilly stage is ridden very gently, and his mountain saves him. Usually though, mountain only helps him on bumps within TT's. I think it's extremely unlikely he survives stage 3. And it's not like he has the best TT to put forward anyway.
So, in all likelihood, our hopes for glory or scoring lie with AKA. On home soil, it would be a fantastic conclusion to his redemption arc to get a win here. And he's shown ample ability and consistency this year. Unfortunately, I did send a leadout rider here in Lander. I wanted to bring as many Danes as possible, and on the flat route, it's not like anyone else made more sense. If AKA ignored Lander, as he has done in previous races, that will be fine. If we actually make a leadout for the first time, we just blew our home race, which sucks.
I 'm happy to be bringing 5 Danes here, and I hope we can make a real positive impact on the race. Thanks for the preview Abhi!

Ohhh that's a nice surprise! 2nd is easily Perera's best result of the year. Great positioning and timing it seems, and then he has the skills to pull off a podium finish. No shame in losing to Halvorsen, congrats quadsas.
Hopefully he can build on that tomorrow, that would be some very welcome points. Thanks for the report Abhishek

No time lost makes it a good stage for us. Being pan flat, these stages could be very, very tricky if crosswinds hit hard.

Zabel gets a leadout and is in the wind quite early, normally this results in being outside the top 10. He must have been on a very good day to make 3rd .

Yeah, not great. Outside the scoring positions and clearly not where AKA needed to be going into the final. But at least a favored Scandinavian won, so can't be too mad. Hopefully he improves in later chances.

Maksimov clearly on domestique duties here, trying to keep Zmorka safe, so no sprint and a 72nd place.
I hope it´s worth it, because just not participating in three sprints to then become 8th or sth in GC would be a bummer.

Abdul Halil not one of the favourites here so I suppose it’s not a big surprise to see him failing to compete in the sprints.
As long as Cosnefroy and Thomas don’t lose any time before the TT then I’m happy!

2 "in the points" sprints by Nelson is not bad going.
Guess tomorrow is about making sure my TTers don't lose ground. Craddock is my best bet for a good overall

Following 2nd place up with a 3rd, really nice work from Perera. Not an outlandish result as I said before the race, but far from a given and now both best and second best performance of the year for him. Another good result on day 4 and he should collect further points from the points classification.
First though, I'm anxiously looking forward to tomorrow. Best case scenario for us I think is a selective stage with Rosskopf close to the front. No idea how it's going to go though.
