Our final C2HC race of the season takes us to Switzerland, with it all to play for at the top of the rankings. Carrefour, Carlsberg, Philips and home team Centovalli will all be looking to take home the crown - while there remain countless battles lower down the rankings as well.
The Puncheurs
| HIL | MO | STA | RES | ACC | Zaini | 80 | 66 | 74 | 65 | 70 | Moscon | 79 | 73 | 76 | 77 | 73 | Meyer | 79 | 69 | 74 | 71 | 77 | Edmondson | 79 | 69 | 75 | 72 | 76 | Juul-Jensen | 78 | 70 | 76 | 74 | 79 | Eiking | 78 | 69 | 78 | 74 | 76 | Barbin | 78 | 68 | 75 | 73 | 76 | Quevedo | 78 | 71 | 72 | 72 | 75 | Palini | 78 | 70 | 75 | 68 | 74 | Mehr-Wenige | 78 | 66 | 74 | 69 | 67 | Hugentobler | 78 | 68 | 70 | 69 | 76 | Watson | 78 | 65 | 76 | 72 | 72 | Flügel | 78 | 69 | 74 | 62 | 69 | Hoelgaard | 77 | 74 | 72 | 72 | 74 | Tsatevich | 77 | 62 | 74 | 73 | 75 | Felline | 77 | 66 | 75 | 73 | 78 | Pernsteiner | 77 | 75 | 73 | 71 | 72 | Smirnovs | 77 | 68 | 74 | 69 | 78 | Zordan | 77 | 73 | 72 | 72 | 74 | Paulus | 77 | 74 | 71 | 68 | 71 | Le Gac | 77 | 69 | 73 | 74 | 69 | Caruso | 77 | 68 | 75 | 70 | 76 | Ben Nasser | 77 | 67 | 73 | 67 | 74 | Roux | 77 | 64 | 77 | 70 | 74 | Pellaud | 77 | 65 | 74 | 68 | 70 | Bru | 77 | 60 | 69 | 65 | 72 |
Zaini may be the strongest pure puncheur, but Moscon, Meyer and reigning champion Edmondson's stronger all-round abilities should give them the slight edge. With Moscon having strong support in Pernsteiner, Juul-Jensen, Quevedo and Watson will play huge parts in shaping the destiny of the title race.
The Climbers
| HIL | MO | STA | RES | ACC | Garby | 70 | 79 | 71 | 76 | 70 | Frankiny | 76 | 78 | 72 | 75 | 75 | Jaramillo | 75 | 77 | 70 | 69 | 76 | Bardet | 74 | 77 | 72 | 70 | 75 | Saggiorato | 73 | 77 | 72 | 74 | 72 | Schultz | 76 | 76 | 74 | 80 | 71 | Henao | 76 | 76 | 71 | 73 | 70 | Eyob | 76 | 76 | 74 | 69 | 66 | Silva | 73 | 76 | 68 | 74 | 64 | Brandt | 69 | 76 | 74 | 69 | 66 | Seibeb | 76 | 75 | 70 | 69 | 73 | Vuillermoz | 73 | 75 | 72 | 74 | 67 | Petrovski | 73 | 75 | 72 | 73 | 68 | Khodayari | 73 | 75 | 71 | 72 | 72 | Hardy | 73 | 75 | 73 | 68 | 70 | Augustyn | 73 | 75 | 71 | 69 | 65 | Liphongyu | 72 | 75 | 73 | 72 | 63 |
If the race becomes more selective on the longer climbs, there are a few climbers ready to take advantage. Frankiny, Jaramillo, Schultz, Henao, Eyob and Seibeb are the key names to watch in the eyes of this reporter.

Am I reading the startlist wrong, or is Juul-Jensen not in it? He's on the favorites list and in my planner, but I don't see him in spoiler startlist. Come to think of it, it looks like quite a few guys are missing.
No Kelderman. I guess I should have deduced that after reading that Philips were in Emilia, but my dumb dumb brain didn't figure that out until now. Interesting decision that could pay off really well for them.
Can't believe we're at the end of the season already. Not facing Wilco here keeps our remote title hopes a bit more alive, but I don't see any way that we gave enough points on Carrefour to do it without Fabbro or Sinkeldam for depth scoring. It would take a win and a complete blow up from all the Carrefour guys.
Assuming JJ is here, this is his show 100%. No team behind him, probably his last ever race as a real contender. Just go out there alone and ride the best you can JJ. Make us proud. De Maar won here for us in 2015. Maybe there's some more magic waiting for Juul-Maar.
Excited for what will hopefully be our last ever race as a CT team. Thanks for the preview!
RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy

What can Watson do in his only race as leader all season? Let's find out...
Took a big gamble not sending Kelderman here but with the ending like in Lugano, we hope this works out.
Thanks for the preview jph

Well, the pressure is really off for this one. We should have 6th in the rankings secured and can't really move up a place.
Any result will be a good one! Looking forward, jph.

Weird not seeing Kelderman on the start list

Ben Nasser has won this race in 2018 so of course I expect nothing less All jokes aside, our best chance of a decent result is if a large-ish group gets to the finish together and either Ben Nasser or Schoonbroodt somehow hang on and can leverage their decent sprint. But eventhough it's really close between us and Sauber for 8th/9th, I'm fairly relaxed. Like in all hilly races this season, I can only be positively surprised

Bru and Petrovski in the favourite's list. Either jph was a bit drunk, or he wrote the preview after they scored some points with an early break surviving That's what we're here for, the early break. Can't expect anything more than 0 points here tbf. Good luck to everyone and thanks for the preview, jph!

I was really disappointed to see that the profile is so much easier than last year's one, which resulted in a great race. And which obviously would have suited Moscon much more...
After GP Lugano, having a similar finish, resulted in a rather random reduced bunch sprint finale, expectations for our win goal race unfortunately are pretty low. Abhi surely made the right decision to send Wilco to Emelia; I guess I should have done the same with Moscon. I'd love to be surprised, of course, but those flat finishes haven't been good for our team so far. #bringbacktherealprofile

Well, pretty disappointing race in terms of high results with all the riders we brought here. On the positive it looks like Carslberg didn't pass us... but on the downside it looks like Philips did after Keldermann's 3rd in the Giro Dell'Emelia. Really just hoping the points sheet I have on my phone is out of date, or that my phone calculator is off hahaha
Edit: also thanks for the great report btw JPH - should have had this in my original post my apologies
Double edit: my sheet was definitely off. Just going to wait for the final thread at this point, looks like a nailbiter

38th is below expectations, but that doesn't matter much. Sauber pass us, which was expected, let's see how things shake out then
Great win for Ssabagwanya, congrats Aidan! Exciting race, thanks for the report jph!

Great effort by JJ, but he just left it too late and ran out of road. Really wanted him to get a win this year, but he was consistently getting great results at a bargain wage. Absolutely no complaints with him. He did his job and then some. Great redemption from last season, and I'm obviously very glad I kept him.
We performed better than our rivals here, but we don't pass Carrefour. A win would have done it I think, but second means we're still a bit behind. Not that any of that matters since Kelderman did his job and will allow Philips to pass us I think. 2nd or 3rd doesn't really matter to me though. We're promoting!!!
Congrats to Project:Africa! Some great wins for you this year, and now you'll be joining PCT with us!
Thanks jph for the final regular season report this year!

What a sh*t race. Another random P:A late attack win, and a complete no-show by our team. Congrats nonetheless, looks like you found some perfect riders for those profiles.
I'm done with this season, really ugly final month. Thanks to the reporters for finishing it quickly.
Promotion has really become meaningless with those last few races. So, see you all in two months, maybe.

That was a really poor race for us but we couldn't have hoped for too much more. Didn't expect it to help the climbers so much though! Ending turned out like Lugano, so a good decision to keep Kelderman away I think.
Congrats to Project Africa and thanks for the report jph
By my calculations, we went up to second after Emelia but drop back down to 3rd after this one:
Carrefour - 2138
Carlsberg - 2120
Philips - 2115
(Don't hate me if I'm wrong please )
Damn, what a season!

Given my previous issues with adding the points I won't try and disprove this standing but it looks good to me! Jokes aside, what a close ending for this CT season, really awesome to be surrounded in the standings with some fantastic managers and here's to hoping you're right about these points standings Abhisehek! |
