A mini-update before the season concludes with Zuri-Metzgete. If I have time later on I will add individual standings (post reserved below for that very purpose), but for now please enjoy a final glimpse of the team standings before the grand finale!
The CT title race is the most exciting of the three divisions, with three teams definitely in contention and one slight outsider. Carrefour lead, but Carlsberg and Phillips are close behind and will still fancy their chances - especially as the latter has the potential to score in Emelia as well. Centovalli are slightly further back but can't be ruled out of contention with a big result on the final day of the season, though the odds aren't in their favour.
Behind the top four, and Tryg look to have secured 5th with strong performances in Solidarnosc and Herald Sun. Project: Africa also look relatively safe in 6th, but Los Pollos Hermanos, Bralirwa and Sauber have a big final day ahead as 7th can often be a promotion spot in case of disbands, though LPH look to be the favourites.
Further down the order and there are some good battles ahead - it's tight from 12th to 15th, and Nordica, Stobart and Sotto il sole di Riccione will have to battle it out to avoid the wooden spoon. But as ever with the CT, the prospect of disbands higher up the divisions mean you never know just how important a place gained on the final day can be!

Thank you for the update, great to see!
Promotion is now mathematically secure, so absolutely thrilled about that obviously.
Title fight should be fun in Zuri. Think Carrefour are still favorite, with Philips also in contention if Kelderman can finish with a couple of strong classics. It would take a win basically by Juul-Jensen for us to win considering our lack of hills depth. Unlikely, but we'll give it a show.
In any case, 3rd-4th was our expectation this year, and 5th was our goal. We're there, and that's enough. it feels good to meet expectations for once. Feels like we finally have some momentum moving forward.
RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy

Well can't be dissapointed with leading, but it really looks like Carlsberg or Philips might pass us at the last second which would be super dissapointing after being relegated on the last race day of the season last year. That said, we have a strong squad going to Zuri Metzgete with Tsatevich, Quevedo and Caruso all going. Hopefully we can pick up enough points to put us into safety regardless of a potential Carlsberg win or a big race from Philips in Emelia.
Outside of our personal chances of winning the CT, it's also very cool to see how close certain groups of teams are in the CT this year. 1-4 are seperated by less that 200 points and no one from 5-20 has an over 100 point gap from the team above or under them. Just from a slight veteran I guess of the Man-Game (makes me feel old), but I feel like usually we see substantially bigger gaps between teams, so its great to feel like the whole CT is competiting for something.
Anyway, excited to see how this season ends up regardless of what happens, given we'll be promoting it looks like. Going to be a stressful few days for us! |

Nice to remain in seventh. The gap over 8 and 9 should be enough, but with us scoring a 0 pointer and Sauber having a strong hill squad it's not over yet. Will be an interesting final day for the title, good luck to the three teams involved
Also, feeling proud about my McCormick in 17th prediction before the start of this season - not that I had any clue what I was doing

It was really your faith in the team that drove the boys on.

Good to know. I'll predict them to finish fifth next year!

Very exciting title race here. Carlsberg deserves it for their team history. Philips deserves it after what Kelderman did (or didn't?) last year. And Centovalli deserves it just because I took all their talents in the offseason!
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Ouch... I knew we'd drop to 4th, but I didn't expect the gap to be that big already. We'd need something like a 1 - 2 - 3 in Züri to move up, which obviously won't happen. A bit of a bummer to end the season on a rather low note (i.e. month), but well, I'd definitely have signed for 4th pre-season!

Congrats to all promoting teams, some well deserved ones. As I think that at least 8 teams will promote I'm especially excited for next season.

We've done extremely well to pull ourselves closer to the top in the last 6 weeks of racing or so! Think the gap is still a bit too much to make up despite being in two races on the final day but I'm happy we kept ourselves in contention till the last day of the season.
Thanks for the update jph Looking forward to see how the season closes out.

9th is secured, I doubt we will manage to steal 8th, but I didn't expect to be that close either so maybe we get lucky.
Honestly I'm just looking forward to hopefully keeping and lowering Hirschi's wage to help our team balance.

Man, we're just going to miss out on the top 5. Would've been a very unexpected achievement, but Tryg really did do a good job all season to best us. I can't help but think that Pinot majorly underperforming in Eritrea (10th, no stage results) was the decisive factor. Had he scored ~100pts there, we could've come out on top. Regardless, it's hard to be upset with him when he's the top scorer in the division
Happy to be the "best" of the new guys, but Los Pollos and Bralirwa have given us a good run. Promotion should be on the cards now, but for next season we will tilt the focus to development of African guys and the only aim will be to avoid relegation!

I agree with Croatia. 8 teams could easily move up and all of them are ran very well by their managers

I expect maybe 3 points at most, if any, from Zuri, so I think you have a decent chance with Frankiny to still overtake us. But it's going to be close for sure. Not super sure how I'd feel if 8 teams actually do go up and we finish either 8th or 9th, but it's either an incredibly surprising promotion or a very good debut season while staying in CT as planned, so I guess it's a win win
Other than that, I mainly cross my fingers for at least P:A to promote alongside Tryg. But as many have said, all teams near the top spots have done really well this season. It's been a cool division to be a part of for sure!

Bad, bad year for Glanbia. Last year, our debut we finished 9th of 17th, missing promotion by one spot.
This year 16th (at best) of 20. I'd love to tell you we had a good young team but we've a bad old team.
Big changes needed but we're here for the long haul and have learned a lot.

Advances a little bit, but quite far from even having a hope of disbanding promotion. We obviously need to build a much more competitive squad for the 2021 season.
Thank you for the update jph! |
