The following riders have made their way to GP Herning, off the back of Gent - Wevelgem. It's a shorter race, but with a lot more cobbled roads to contest. This should surely benefit the likes of Baugnies, Nolf, Taubel and Maes - who would much prefer to use their cobbled skills to their advantage, rather than rely on a sprint where Van Avermaet, Van Lerberghe and evidently Naesen, are amongst those with the faster finish.

Not all CT teams have made the journey to Denmark, but meeting them here are a selection of PCT outfits, with some contenders for the victory as well. Valio, Podium Ambition and Minions in particular with multiple options here.

Last year we saw Niki Ostergaard come and win this race as a PCT rider for local team Carlsberg. He is not here to return, but his former team are - albeit now here as a CT outfit. The three previous editions were all won by one rider, and one team. Geraint Thomas, the 4 times winner of this race, is now riding for Trans cycling team - Podium Ambition bringing a good few options for winning the race with somebody else instead.

Well, last year Ostergaard won for us, so we can feel like we've already conquered this race in the best fashion possible. This year it's all about scoring.
The route doesn't favor Sinkeldam and there are a ton of PCT guys here to compete, so I'm not sure what we'll be able to pull out. Just going to score as much as we can.
Thanks for the preview!

I'll be honest, i would be happy to not be in the Top30 if G wins this again! And given how our season is going being out the Top30 wouldn't be a surprise.
A good test to see if our cobble helpers can act as leaders when we relegate

That's a strong startlist especially with the depth that the PCT teams are bringing. Not expecting a repeat of GW scoring but still hoping for good scoring from our trio of Van Lerberghe, Paprstka and Bovenhuis.
Thanks for the preview SN

Going for three cobblestone races as mandatory C2 events, hopefully it pays off!

Did the same and quite happy with how it looks for Schreurs. Top 5 will be very tough but if he can get it or just outside (with Bester also somewhere in the points) in these races I'll be happy and reward him with the chance to do it for the rest of his PCT career most likely

Well, Baugnies (and Nolf) know what to do after a bad Gent-Wevelgem. A win is what we came for, and if Baugnies doesn't match the expectations our sponsor will be very unhappy.

Gent was a good improvement over Viana, hopefully we can confirm the strong performance there and improve also result-wise. In an ideal world some of our doms also score.
Thanks for the great, clear preview, SN.

I feel like this is the race where Baugnies shows what he is capable of. For Naesen, this is an interesting one. Hopefully, as much of the favorites as possible stay together until the end so he can finish strong again and keep our streak of great cobbles performances alive. Some depth points by Okbamariam and maybe Schoonbroodt would be appreciated, but the field is pretty tough. We'll see. Thanks for the preview SN

Well, that sucks. Banning crashes has really made ill timed punctures even more devastating and frustrating because they're so rare. We lose our leader and that's that, everyone else just plows ahead. We're left losing poitns to everyone where we frankly shouldn't.
Really frustrating.

Under the circumstances, 5th feels almost like a disappointment for Naesen. If only he hadn't been forced to the front so early, but well played by the others, I guess, and I wasn't sure if he was going to be able to stick with the best riders at all, so pre-race I probably would have taken a 5th place without thinking twice. Confusing team tactics as well, sending both Schoonbroodt and Okbamariam ahead. Schoonbroodt with some nice depth points again, but Okba disappointed.
Honestly, most shocked about Baugnies. He's really falling short of expectations so far. Maybe lacking some team support, but even then ...
Congrats to Marco, commiserations for the puncture victims, and thanks for another great report SN

More great stuff from Rathe, beating some much more heralded riders. If he keeps up like this we will have to pay him more.
The cobbles throwing up some under performances, They should be unpredictable races. Which doesn't mean it doesn't suck for the unlucky managers, so my sympathies to them.
Congrats to Marco and thanks for the report.

Our three pronged attack pays off again as Van Lerberghe gets 4th place with Paprstka and Bovenhuis scoring as well. So far, CT cobbles has gone well for us, so it's looking good for the season ahead.
Congrats to Marco, great win for Lindeman Thanks for the report SN!

What a thrilling race, thanks SN..Baugnies and Naesen both looked very strong, whilst GVA was seemed to wheelsuck his way to the finish line. Not my preferred strategy but we definitely needed some points from.this race and he got them. Well done Minions, and too bad about the punctures - both riders looked very strong.

Imagine being the guy paying 400k for a CT-leader who fails to be in the top-10 in C2 in a race that should be perfect for him
Congratz to the Minions and thanks for another cobbled race, SN

Woop woop Lindeman!
We always had one rider in a good position. Albert in the early split, even though his horrible sprint would've meand ending up ninth. Lindeman came back from behind and once he was with Naesen v2 (where was that sprint when you rode for us?) I knew he had a chance, but to finish it off like this, nerve wrecking!
It's only 45 points though, C2 win doesn't give a lot of points to a PCT team but the prestige of winning is always nice. Flaksis and Albert with a small bonus as well. Thanks SN for the report!
