Podium Ambition
Sponsors
Antofagasta PLC
A Chilean conglomerate with fingers in a huge number of pies. They really are looking to bolster their name across markets in Australasia and North America, and we can really help there. Another American rider or two couldn't go amiss to keep them happy.
Avanti
The New Zealand bicycle manufacturer is here to step into the gap left by Specialized. With heavy presense in the Oceanic and European markets our team seems like a great fit. High performance bikes which wil be excellent for the riders. No major requirements from them, apart from to ride fast.
Hincapie Sportswear
The American sportswear manufacturer joins the team this year. Steeped in cycling history the famous Hincapie name returns to the top echelons of cycling. A growing market globally they want more American rider presence to market from.
Mauritius Commercial Bank
The Mauritian bank is the largest and oldest in the country. In the last few years it's been a real innovater and grower in the African market. A great opportunity for them to begin growing more globally and for us to get a unique partner. They love marketing one of two females in the peloton.
McLaren Technology Group
The British enginiring firm has long been masters of aerodynamics, style, luxury and racing. A perfectaddition to the project. They are helping Avanti make new bikes and providing the best team cars in the peloton. British riders spearheading the charge is also good for them.
Mount Gay Rum
The Barbadan alcohol firm is the oldest producer of Rum in the entire world. It's a huge global brand with interests in all markets, especially the Americas. For them growing brand awareness against other Carribean companies is key, doing this on a platform of local riders could be fun.
Shimano
The Japanese firm is one the biggest players in the world of cycling. Their components are on an insane number of bikes and teams. It's a quality partnership that will only benefit the team, albeit with a caveat that they want us to pick up an Asian rider or two.
Woolworths
The South African retailer is a massive player in the Southern Hemisphere. Big presence right across southern Africa, including Mauritius, and out all the way to Australia and New Zealand. It was a perfect fit for the team's focus and existing connections, long live cycling down south!
Whooshh Innovations
The Fiiiish jersey shall remain! Our NC specific sponsor shall continue. It's not a huge investment for them as we really want to promote the Salmon Cannon in any way we can.
Canucks
They will continue to help manage the team on a day-to-day basis as well as taking over general ownership at the highest level.. That's their expertise and we will maintain a great working relationship with Canucks.

The Great Big "Tubthumping" Post
Yes i spend more time thinking about titles than i do about the content of posts... But when you get knocked down, you get up again, never let them keep you down! We've relegated twice. We've completely changed the teams focus. We've been on the verge of fading into the pages of history. But you stick with it, work hard, chip away and keep getting back on the horse. All so you can reach the top of the mountain... and use too many cliches...
Podium Ambition has achieved the magnificent result. The top honor you can get in the MG. And at the perfect moment too, with our best riders being training eligible we're going to get a massive cash injection. Our long term development projects can reach their true potential, and we will have the cap space to really go out and replace our fading classic leaders.
Look, we're trying not to get too excited. And the way we're getting the job done comes at the sad expense of others we really admire and will miss massively from the game. But this is it, as you might say, the summit finish.
We are here, at the top of the world. We're going to do things our own way, like we always have. Go Big, or Go Home!!!

The Great Big "Half-Life 3 Confirmed???!!!" Post
Also known as the rumor post time! We can confirm our renewals, yes we kept some riders, and sow the seeds for the teams direction as we head to the PT. No messing around, let's dive and reveal our renewals!
Nat. | Name | Age | Key Stats | Wage | Nickname | | Caleb Ewan | 25 | 83SP 71HL | 600k | “Pocket Rocket” | | Andrew Talansky | 31 | 79MO 77HL | 300k | “Pitbull” | | Simon Yates | 27 | 77HL 75SP | 150k | Yates | | Ricki Nelson | 31 | 81SP 79RC | 150k | Ricki | | Geraint Thomas | 33 | 78CB 73SP | 175k | “G” | | Julian Alaphilippe | 27 | 77SP 73HL | 100k | Julian | | Momchil Robov | 26 | 76HL 72MO | 80k | Robov | | Adam De Vos | 26 | 75MO 75HL | 65k | “The Boss” | | Darren Matthews | 28 | 76SP 75CB | 55k | Darren | | Martin Grashev | 32 | 75CB 72MO | 50k | Martin | | Borislav Ivanov | 30 | 76MO 74HL | 50k | Boris | | Logan Owen | 24 | 75CB 71AC | 60k | “Wolverine” | | Jyme Bridges | 30 | 72HL 71CB | 50k | Jyme | | Dobrin Lilovski | 24 | 72HL 69AC | 50k | “Lily” | | Chris Lawless | 24 | 71HL 67SP | 50k | “Dredd” | | Kim Le Court | 23 | 71HL 73FT | 50k | “Queen” | | Hayato Okamoto | 24 | 71SP 70PL | 50k | “OK” | | Kristin Vanderpool | 24 | 72PL 71TT | 50k | “KP” |
Not many surprises here. Ewan banks the big bucks. Talansky brings in the bacon. Simon makes it rain. A pretty good PCT trio.... for the PT... er...
G, the main man G, got himself a renewal! Yes we know we're overpaying for a 78CB but we just could not let outselves say goodbye the long time team leader. Everyone has a soft spot, ours is for the welshman.
We've kept 18 riders on the initial roster, so we'll be looking for at least two with a signifcant amount of spare cap space to do so.
Availability of riders. It's a tricky question to manage ahead of time. But we have out future direction in mind and using some of that PT cash to get it going, there could easily be some more departures.
Pitbull has been brilliant for us but he's not a PT challenger, we're open to talks. Same goes for Robov, he would be better suited to a lower level, especially without a stage racing leader to get behind.
What's our plan? Try and put together a team that can survive. There's some big name riders available and we've got space, so imagining who we're after isn't exactly tricky. And still with 6 unmaxed riders we're not worrying too much about talents this time around.
Bring on Friday!

The Great Big "Are You Free?" Post
So we talked about our renewals last time, and hinted at potential availability. But as more teams appear with available riders, and the latest reports from out DB scouts, we're more comfortable putting a strong plan out in the wild.
This also comes on the back of our off-season corporate restructure. Yes, we have such a thing apparently! Following increased investment from Hincapie Sportswear, George Hincapie, the man the myth the legend, takes on a role in the team as Head of Strategy. Think along the lines of a Director of Football. This is a move designed to bring some overdue focus back to the teams future direction. No long will we aimlessly enter each year without much planning or thought!
On The Block
| Andrew Talansky | 31 | 79MO 77HL | 300k | “Pitbull” | | Simon Yates | 27 | 77HL 75SP | 150k | Yates | | Adam De Vos | 26 | 75MO 75HL | 65k | “The Boss” | | Martin Grashev | 32 | 75CB 72MO | 50k | Martin | | Borislav Ivanov | 30 | 76MO 74HL | 50k | Boris | | Dobrin Lilovski | 24 | 72HL 69AC | 50k | “Lily” |
We will be looking to off-load all the above! Pretty much a complete clear out and refresh of our uphill division. If we can get them out we will, although we won't accept less than reasonable market values, we're not that desparate.
This would open up the squad space we're hoping for to bring in our major targets, and start to really shape and build the team for the future. We accept we're not really in shape to be a PT team, so this will give us A) the best chance to survive, and B) the best chance to bounce back when we relegate.
Future Plans
We're already in talk with new sponsors! Being PT really brings in the interest! The do everything global approach was fine, but we want to get back to our roots and be a more regionally orientated team, and with the PT cap space there is no better time to get ahead of the curve and make that happen.
*gif coming later*

@danny - We've got a plan for going up, and you other pomoters are out benchmark! Lets battle!
@valv - Not really PT ready, so a lot of changes to make fully keeping in mind we could very quickly be PCT again.
@Jakstar - Come and help out! We're very open to offers
@ivan - A year too late for you really isn't it? Still keeping hold of Grashev for one more year, and Robov is staying. But if we are to even atempt to survive PT we need change, and the Bulgarians just don't cut it anymore. Especially without bringing in sponsorship money!

Tempted to make a cheeky bid for one of the Bulgarians just to diversify our Balcan squad
Good luck taking on the big wigs in the PT

The Great Big "This Took Way Too Long" Post
We can finally share our first signings of the season! Having only completed our first FA signing early this afternoon, it's fair to say progress has been somewhat slow going. Requiring a lot of patience on the Free Agency, we've been highly active behind the scenes. Harry Redknap would be proud of our wheeling and dealing!
Out
| Simon Yates | 27 | 77HL 75SP | 150k | Yates | | Adam De Vos | 26 | 75MO 75HL | 65k | “The Boss” |
Simon Yates has gone in part of a big deal to Desuigal of the PCT. He'll get the training he deserves and a strong future ahead. Simon was magnificent in our CT title chasing year, and has constatnyl punched way above his weight. He will be missed.
The Boss moves to NENT for a simple 100k. Nothing flashy, but the newly max'd Canadian is sure to be a visible player in the CT this season. A few decent rides here and there, The Boss highlight came in the Tour of America where he worse the Young Riders Jersey for a good portion of the event.
In
| Marcos Altur | 26 | 81CB 72SP | 300k | Marcos | | Jamalidin Novardianto | 25 | 75FL 78AC | LOAN | "Supa-Nova" | | Alexandor Cataford | 26 | 79TT 74FL | 320k | "AC" |
Marcos Altur comes in from Desigual in the big deal. He takes over the cobbles reigns from G and the now gone Burghardt. We can now solidly start to construct our cobbles unit around a new focus going forwards. Very excited to have landed a rider we've been interested in for years!
Supa-Nova joins because we gave him the best nickname. I wish that was a joke, but it's partly true! A flat and breakaway specialist, the Indonisian is joining on loan from Xero. With us he'll finish his development and be a key support player for Caleb and Ricki in the sprints.
AC is so called because he's just so cool! Get it?! The Canadian time trialist joins on a rather inflated wage from the Free Agency, but he'll be a key player in our sprint successes, and we can finally score points in a TT! Very excited to have the strong man join and pull us forwards.
We are laying down the first part of a 3-year plan for the team. Working steadily away to a specific design we will see at least one more name leave the team, if not another two or three, before things close. But we still need to bring in a couple more pieces to finish off this year-one puzzle.
What is this mystery plan? We can reveal all post-transfers, in fear of giving away too much to our rivals. But we can give you gifs!

Best of luck to Altur, he will be missed. But it's fitting his last race with us ended with the Spanish RR title. Glad he could go to a manager who has desired him for years and asked about his availability like every single transfer period.
Go tear up the PT Altur!
EDIT: Also, Marcos needs a cooler nickname.

@Mre - He's Spanish RR NC? Damn, you could have asked for more If you have any suggestions for a nickname i'm listening. A rider i've long admired and a perfect leader for the next 6 seasons!
@red - Solid start, but hardly makes us PT ready yet. Now we just look like a promotion chasing PCT Team
@Aquarius - I guess everyone wanted Supa-Nove
