Hi,
are not there any information about PCM2019? some news?
I'm searching in google about it and I don't find out a web with such information.
Can any one tell me where to find it, please?
Thanks

Yeah as far as i know there are no real news, but Bigben released a trailer yesterday. There also a few screenshots on the steam site but not much more.

They expanded Pro Cyclist mode with perks, in terms of manager mode I don't think there will be much. check Benji Naesen channel

Thanks Vali.
But that information is a crap... They don't talk about new features, improvements, new specific AI behaves, etc, etc

I believe there is lots of news if you look that game up on Steam. Or atleast there are lots of screenshots which you can look at and notice differences, which atm mainly look to be a general UI update and more additions to Pro Cyclist mode, with not much else changing.

Honestly I don't know why they keep pushing more the tdf game for ps4 rather than the real PCM for PC... honestly ps4 version is bad and ridicolous, they need to focus on pcm
am I a bad person thinking this? |

Slightly concerning that they are struggling to get the game out on time. |

Especially since they only changed some UI stuff. Seriously, they should at least open the game to modders more if they abandon development. |

The only thing needed is an update to the fact that the game is too easy, so doing something to make every team work for a top 10 on every stage is what is most important and downgrade the effect of train/protection/dot on level above normal.
As long as they did not do that I am not getting 2019, 2018 is great just too easy.

If they did a bunch of changes, if they implemented new mechanics and features that deeply change the gameplay, I would be very understanding of a delay. However, all the news we have been provided with (i.e. Steam shop page with 5 boring and really uneventful screenshots and 5 bullet points describing new features) suggest that this game is going to be all to similar to last year's version. The total lack of advertisement and communication (we had a dev blog last year if I remember correctly) does not help with gaining trust in the new product.
Let's take a look at the new promised features:
• Experience the new stages of the Tour de France 2019
cool. Just Tour de France or will there be new stages to other races as well? Nobody knows.
• A redesigned Pro Cyclist mode including a new skill system
We can actually see screenshots of this. It looks promising but it only touches on the pro cyclist mode. I am not sure in how far this changes the actual experience and I don't think that Pro Cyclist mode is the most played part of the game.
• A revamped user interface for menus and during races
That is just bullshit. They changed some of the pictograms in the User Interface, the UI is still exactly the same. Also the in-game screenshots show pretty much the same game. If you are proud of a "revamped UI" why not show it in pictures?
• Improved AI for even more realistic cyclist behaviours
In which areas exactly? What has been improved?
• An improved contract system with offers based on targeted teams
Again: Why not show screenshots of that?
The changes are marginal. There is absolutely no way that a team of developers has worked on this game for an entire year. Most of the visible changes are UI related, some new attributes in Pro Cycling mode, maybe new stages. That seems like maybe a month worth of work that they are so proud of that they flood the internet with screenshots and marketing. But they expect us to buy the game for the full price I suppose. |

Before I get started, no offence to anyone, just correcting the info here.
The delay has nothing to do with the features of the game or anything alike. It's an administrative delay.
@skylax, the UI has clearly changed. Obviously it's mainly the colors, but I need that every 2 years to not die.
It's not just the Tour de France route that changed.
My opinion of the skill tree is different of yours. You say "It's not the most played part."
I find that a great reason to make it better. I had no incentive of playing Pro Cyclist a lot but with this skill tree system and the other unannounced feature I have an incentive to play it.
AI is just the yearly small changes to try and make it better. I personally wouldn't expect a lot but I guess we'll see after release.
Last year, we received news about the release in the final week before the game release. This year, we actually have a trailer a month before, which was previously the day of release.
In the end, the TDF game clearly sells a lot more and that's what the TDF cares about. Hence they won't order as many development days to work on PCM as on TDF. This is just "another contract" for the developers. They love making the game since it is what started their company pretty much, but in the end if the publishers don't want the developers to work on it more than X amount of days, you can't expect many changes.
Also, a full price game that can be bought for 25 € pre-release is worth it for me considering I play it 400 hours a year. I've done as lot worse with other games I've bought.
Anyway, just felt like we're never happy about what's on the table while the developers put their heart and soul into the features that they are allowed to develop. |

Benji, I highly appreciate your work as a modder and if it wasn't for you, I would never think about buying the game at all. Therefore, it is quite difficult to disagree with you
I see your point regarding development time etc. However, the last few years brought bigger changes in comparison it feels (and those changes were rather small). I really dislike that Cyanide over the years got rid of so many awesome features. The entire scouting and development of riders used to be so much better and I really don't know why they had to change all of that. Some things, that really need to be worked on and streamlined (training system, especially before the season, planning of races, simulation etc) are really neglected any development time. It really feels like they want to squeeze out the last bit of money the customers are willing to pay. The game has a good framework, it could be much better with not too many changes. The ever declinging community is aware of this, but I really blame Cyanide to not even try to change things and let the community grow because of a good game.
Now, to the features. Ok, the colors of the UI have been changed slightly. That is something that other sport manager games offer through mods. The allow a reskin of the game and therefore prolong playability and satisfy different tastes in design. Why not allow that for PCM? You could even change UI colors every 2 weeks to not die
I am sure there are different opinions regarding the Pro Cyclist Mode. If you look at telemetric data from comparable games (Fifa, Madden) this "be a pro mode" is not as popular as other modes. Of course that does not mean it should be neglected, but if you want to expand your playerbase that would not be the ideal feature to work on. But it takes less time to add 12 columns in a database (most of the skills are really just modifiers) than to add for instance manager-to-rider-communication and therefore manipulate rider happiness (with impact on performance) or another feature that would be impactful and bring immersion to the game. |

This is like taking a political debate based on polls, it is fun , but we have no idea how the “result” will be when it finally comes out

I must be bad at this game as I struggle to win on Normal settings. Feels like the best ratings rider always wins (Froome) no matter what tactics I try on mountain stages. And you guys want the game harder lol |
