Hi Guys,
I play pcm 17 with 2 friends online.
We only with the 3 of us and we are kinda tired of playing the same 3GT's over and over again.
Were also bored by the numerous flat stages in them.
So we were thinking about creating our own GT just for us 3 to play online.
Now it seems to be not that easy when you never did anything like that before.
I took a look in the pcm stage and database editor and it seems hard.
We had a plan B but that wasn't easy either and still don't have it working
Now what we wanted to do was make a GT with the following races(not the exact sequence):
*1 prologue
*1 long TT
*1 mountain TT
*1 TTT
*2 paris roubaix like stage
*2 ronde van vlaanderen like stages
*10 mountain stage's(most of them ending with a finish on the mountain, 2 with finish after the mountains and 1 stage with a lot of heavy mountains)
*3 flat stages
Plan B was to search for 21 intresting stage's/race's in the existing database and rename them to paris-nice so we could play it.
first problem was that i wanted it based on the pcm.daily database so we have nice stats and right names, but i couldn't find the file in my documents.
second problem was that we couldn't upload it to the workshop.
Nether of the plans worked for us because the lack of experience in the needed knowledge.
we don't care about nice scenery or stuff, it is even oke if it are only straight roads
Is there someone who can help us or direct us in the right direction?
Thanks in advance!

Have you taken a look to the workshop guide?

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
So, if i edit the database(with fast editor?) and i choose 21 stages and place them in paris nice then i have my own gt? |

The question would be why you want to necessarily play it as Paris Nice when you could just name them as Tour stages
But you can do it, yes

Aha good question sir! =D
the reason why i would recall it to paris-nice or any other non gt race, is because when i do so, we can still play the original 3 GT when we want to =D
but do i need to rename them, because i saw that in fast editor there is a line where you can select a race |

If you just name it as a variant you won't replace anything of the original tour stgaes. For example, a normal tour stage is named top_tour_01_2017, you could just call all of them top_tour_xx_custom.

Oke intressting to know!
can you help me a little more? cause i diddn't get it to work yesterday.
I'm at work now so i can't check stuff but this is what i did yesterday:
I went into fast editor, i search the stages that we wanted in STA_RACE(i believe this was the name of the STA map)
i placed all the stages in paris-nice.
Then i renamed 3 cyclists as we wanted so we had our own cyclist in the game for online play.
Saved everything, found out how to upload it and then we tested it.
*the 3 cyclist are in the game and work.
*our own grand tour isn't there
*alle the cyclist are wearing the same shirt and all the team logos are now pink square's
i think i did a few things wrong being:
* i copied my database and the original files into the /MOD/ownmodname map, i think this created the same shirts and team logo's?
* i need to locate the map(do you know in which map i can find them?) with the stages and copy the stages and rename them like you said, this would fix the gt not existing.
sorry for the many questions, its the first time i every try such a thing...
I usually only play pro cyclist mode with the pcm.daily databases, but this year is the first year ever that i play online and its so much fun, but there are not enough mountain stages in the normal gt's =D
edit: in the workshop i found some databases with all the gt's from 2010-2O17 and al the uci races of the last 7 years(from this one i can get the old ronde van vlaanderen).
So if i'm correct i can place all the gt's and the old ronde van vlaanderen as variant in my own database and use it in multiplayer with my friends?

If you want to play something as a variant, you actually need the grand total of 0 things in the database itself. The historical variants pack in the workshop can be used in your database and for online play, granted that you add it to your workshop mod. The files of a workshop mod are found in Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\525920 and one of the folders in there.

i'm afraid i don't get it.
so i can download all the variants (and the old ronde van vlaanderen), in which map do i need to place them?
and where do i find the existing stages/races? so i can copy them and rename them to make my own variant.
again sorry for all the questions =/
i really want to thank you for your help! |

You'll find them in Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\525920\9digitsnumber and you'll have to copy them inside of your workshop mod, in documents\pcm 17\mod\modname\stages.
The place for existing stages is Steam\steamapps\common\PCM 17\CM_Stages.

No, you can do more. I don't know the exact number, but 28 should be possible too for instance.

I think in past editions 28 was the max. I wouldn't be surprised if that hasn't changed yet.
However, if you want your tour to have 28 stages, it will require DB editing, by changing the amount of stages in STA_Race and adding the new stages in STA_Stage

It's really not hard. In a non-savegame DB the hardest part is getting the ID right. This is always Stage Number + 3-number race ID (STA_Race)
So if it's stage 25 of race 44, the stage ID is 25044 etc.
And I forgot to mention that fkID_Laststage in STA_Race will also need to be changed to the ID of the last stage of the race. I don't know the race IDs by heart, but it's always gonna be 28***
Easiest to use in this case is Fast Editor again.

So i made mu own variant and added other variants and it worked. (Did not try the 28 stages yet)
Now inhave 1 problem...
I edited 3 cyclist to our own name and edited some stats.
When we play the gt i made the 3 edited cyclist all have -85 on all stats...
What can be the problem here?
Is it because i set their limits on 85 instead of leaving it on 0?
If i edit something now in the database, does workshop upload it itself? Or do i need to reupload everything?
found it!, i set i_fitness on 85 by mistake

is there a way to make the cyclist recuperate more?
i think my own variant is kinda heavy for them
i was thinking about adding rest days, does that work? |
