I really liked PCM14 and was thinking about buying PCM15. Just wanted to know if it's worth it.
I know there is the new "Be a Pro" mode that seems kinda interesting, but what I was wondering is are there really any sgnificant changes to the carreer mode, that make the experience different than PCM14?
Btw my laptop ran PCM14 pretty good on medium to high settings, so I assume PCM15 should run smoothly as well. Am I right?
Honestly, I think it's by far the best PCM I've played. Some things should be corrected, but overall I'm very happy.
Also, I feel like my laptop handles this game better than PCM14, is that possible? It used to overheat a bit while playing, but no problems so far with this version.
The game runs better on the same graphics, I think.
Be a Pro is best thing ever in PCM, I think.
Career mode I haven't tested yet, but there are some differences, I heard. Like copying/pasting objectives and form schedules which is a big plus to reducde planning time!

I'm only in March with my first standard career so I might miss something, but I could only copy the fitness schedule which is quite useless because you still have to set the same objectives yourself.
That negates all of the time gain because you still have to switch riders to copy the objectives by memorizing them, and then the schedule automatically aligns to those anyway. The only small advantage you have now is if you customize the schedule past that automatic plan.

If you want to play a classic team manager career, you can wait. There are several issues right now, like save games not working with the editor, a bugged progression system of own riders and also all the changes in the career made the game considerably worse (scouting doesn't deserve its name, is completely automated and arbitrary / Youth teams are pretty much useless / season planning is still a clickfest-hell contrary to a statement made in the thread). Some if the issues will be worked out, but I am afraid others will stay what they are.
If you are interested in a Pro-Career of "your own rider", then you can give it a shot. I find the game mode pretty boring as you can only control your own rider, have no interaction with team mates, can't give them orders or anything, you are not given any specific roles by your team like set up a good pace for your leader or try to be part of a breakaway or try to catch the breakaway for your sprinter or anything. You also can't determine who you want as team mates if you are the leader, so there is really no interaction at all. You basically have the same game like in career mode but only control one rider all the time and have a little more fun getting the rider in shape as the training system is a little different. Several users find the game mode heavily entertaining though, so I think it might be worth a shot, if you are into this whole be-a-pro thing.

this game is great i would highly recommend it pro cyclist mode is great fun and a great new challenge that can only improve as for career its buggy yes but it will get a lot better with patches it is the best management games around so the hate towards what is possibly the best version they have created is unnecessary play the game before hating on it
@Alex-sonic
Well, so far, it's 90% that find it a good game and 10% that doesn't, to be fair.
Supporting Cyanide can never harm anyway, considering they are a small company and they need support to make the game better.
A new patch just was brought out, hopefully making the game some more stable.
(By the way, it'd be max of 27EU considering the offer to buy through Daily only had a price of 27EU )

Are you kidding me? I had 13 last and didnt buy 14. A lot have changed from 13 to 15... And you dont have it and is shitting on it?
Sport freak. Mostly interested in Football (Liverpool, Rosenborg with more), increasing interest in cycling.
Also big Formula 1 fan. Ferrari <3

Well, he doesn't have to buy it now when the game is bugged and if he doesn't care about the pro-cycling-mode. And by the way, the manager part is not just a little buggy, it is virtually unplayable as your young riders almost don't progress and your "older" riders (above 26) randomly drop in stats. It is puzzling how you can speak of the PCM as the "best management game around". That is totally unjustified. It might be the best cycling manager game around, well, yeah.
Supporting Cyanide can never harm anyway, considering they are a small company and they need support to make the game better.
This is a pretty deluded point of view. As a customer, I want a product that is worth $35, otherwise I could just give the money to charity where it is probaly needed more and put to better use. If Cyanide delivers a product of quality that people are willing to pay the asking price for, then they deserve the money. For some people, $35 are quite a lot of money and you can't just advice them to give that money to Cyanide to support them. They only get my support if the deliver a good product in return, so far I am not pleased, as the management part is unplayable due to horrendous progression of riders. Even with the newest patch, they don't seem to have adressed the issue, so why would anybody interested in a game mode that is unplayable bother to buy the game?
Again, if you mostly care for the management part and don't mind your young riders don't progressing and your older one (eg above 27) regressing rapidly, then I can't really recommend buying the game.
If you like the pro-career-mode and want to give it a shot, I think you could buy the game.

This!
That is basically what i am saying fo years, why i should support someone who is not able to deliver the quality product? It really does not make any sense and i guess Jesleyh and few other never heard about "supply and demand", capitalism or any other economic rule or concept . What they speak about is indeed charity.
To answer the initial question of this topic: it was really worth it with previous patch, at least because of new game mode, which had its flaws, but was a great great fun for me and majority of people here on Daily given their reactions.
But new patch destroyed it all and i wonder how can someone sane in year 2015 make public a patch that removes the major part of the new game mode, that was main part of the advertisment for this edition.
If it will come back in next patch, the game is woth it. If not, dont even touch it aand never support Cyanide again, you would be just a stupid mind slave like i am...
I'm just gonna use this thread instead of making one myself.
I've looked at the minimum requirements and noticed, that the graphic card had to be minimum Nvidia Geforce 8600 GT, but I have Nvidia Geforce 750m. Would this mean it would be impossible for me to play PCM15 without the game stopping every second or would it be possible to play without the highest graphic?
I won't make another thread since this one is already up and running. Basicly; is the game worth it? I never played PCM14, so my last experience is with 13.
From what I've read, the Be A Pro-mode seems pretty good. However, that might just be the usual exitement with something new, and it might die down later on. Is it a fun mode, or does it get boring and repetitive fast? Do you still have the unatural progression where you have 82 in MO at the age of 24? Is there a longevity to it?
Also, the career mode; how is it this year? I've read people saying that it's anything from playable to worse than Hitler and Stalin combined.
There's a fine line between "psychotherapist" and "psycho the rapist"
I hate to sound repetitive but most of PCM15's problems (and PCM14's) are down to the devs being over-ambitious. I'd like to see them perfect and enrich the career mode (particularly the team management content - rider management, sponsors, race AI etc) and completely ignore multiplayer and Pro Cyclist mode, just for a couple of editions.
I can see why they're adding extra modes - they're trying to spread out it's appeal but things have to work properly first in the heart of the game. It's always going to be difficult for Pro Cyclist mode to be successful if the AI isn't right - the career mode is annoying enough at times with weak AI, it would be a thousand times worse if you can only direct one rider.
The really frustrating thing is that Cyanide have a pretty unique game, due to the 3D engine. There aren't many games where you can manage a sports team and then gain that kind of interaction with the team during a live race. Couple this with the uniqueness of the sport of cycling and you should have a winner, at least among cycling fans and sports fans who are willing to give it a go.
Having said that, I still enjoy playing the career in PCM15, but just wish that Cyanide would prioritise the existing game rather than add new broken features. They'd get a fair few buyers from people willing to try something different if things worked better. Sometimes things that are unusual sell - look at Euro Truck Sim 2.
