RCS Sport has announced that another hill will be introduced in Milano - San Remo. It's placed 100 km. from goal and is 318 meters high.
(And now, we can use this thread for general Milano-talk ) |

And they also added a detour at the end, which could make the sprint have turns. (Check out VeloNews.com for info) |

Yeah, Bettini had said it a few weeks ago. shouldn't make a big difference. it's still far enough away not to be ridden at speed.
The ending however is one km of flat longer. Bettini says that's better for attackers because it's another km that the sprinters' teams have to work. makes no sense to me. I'm thinking it's one more kilometer in which to reel in attackers

No, because by that point, the sprinters teams will be knackered, and if someone attacks at the right moment and gets a big enough gap, they may have just that one too less riders in their lead out train. But again, if they have enough lead out men, then yes, the extra 1km makes no difference to the outcome really.

I thought of that, but then I considered the large amount of riders Petacchi's team had in the final group in each of the last three years. I wouldn't say it makes no difference. I'd say it's better for the sprinters.

well, as I said before, that climbing is 100km from the line so the speed shouldn't be that high
Anyway, is anyone strong enough to attack on the flat after 293kms?
We'll see but there's still a while to go. it's over two weeks from now

As I've mentioned before, I really hope he gets a 2 year ban. Looking like that, he's scaring sponsors away, thus being an even bigger threat to cycling than doping is... |

The scary part is that there's a chance you actually mean it when you say such stuff (which is every single time)

He won't be in form until April or so, most likely

No, you're probably right, but he is still very awesome.
That said, i think Freire, Petacchi or Pippo will win this. |

mmm, even though it's tempting to say that either Petacchi or Freire will win im going for Highroad's Ciolek. But I really hope Pipo will winB)
