I sat there, staring into the track. The build up had begun. From the stands I could see all too clearly why I was here and they were there. I could get there with training, but I just couldn't push myself that far. The race I was about to witness was the last race in the sprint final between Pervis and Kenny. Pervis was dominant all the way through. It was a race I wish i could have been in. But for now I have to train.
My first real important race would be the new Track Series, Let's Race, which would take place twice in London, and once in Manchester. It is set up to be open to anyone from rookies to World Champions. I will train hard, but I only have 6 days

RACES
BRITISH CYCLING's LET'S RACE
This is a very friendly event which allows the young rookies or amateur riders to mingle with the pro's. It takes place in 3 rounds, 1 & 3 in London and 2 in Manchester. It is set to be a very exiting event!

Rider Profile
NAME: Owen Jones
Nationality: Wales
TEAM: Leopard Development Team
SPECIALITY: SPRINT
BACKGROUND: Owen grew up as an average kid, cycling a bit, playing on multiple games consoles, and playing an awful lot of Rugby. He began becoming more interested in cycling when he discovered track. He trained hard and really improved, but he wasn't quite ready to make the jump to pro. When the time came he managed to get a few trials at different teams. He ended up with Leopard Development, as their only track rider.

Oooooooohhhhhh, looks potentially interesting. Will follow!
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

This morning I woke up to have my first trials in the morning. 3 teams awaited me, Bissell Development Team, MTN, and Leopard Development Team. I would be given one 200m TT and the team would decide whether they would want me.
So at my first trial with Bissell I felt weak on my lead up laps, and I hit line too high up, I ended up with a time of 11.022".
Then I moved on to MTN, and with some riding in my legs I was feeling stronger and hit the line well. I finished with the time of 10.931"
Finally, I pulled on a Leopard Development Jersey and began my final attempt. I felt I could do well on this attempt but I hit the bottom of the track early but rally gave it my all, and finished with a time of 10.836"
So my best time was with Leopard, and they offered me a 3-year contract, which a immediately accepted. This meant I had a team to compete for when I entered the Let's Race Competition.

Seeing as I had a break from training today I felt like I could go for a training ride on the London 2012 Olympic Road Race course.
I wanted to get a feel for my new kit.
I moved into some sprint training down the hill
I will now head back to my preparations for the upcoming Welsh Championships

Nice start. All your pictures aren't centred in the second post. Also, do we get any background on the rider? What's he called? I'm guessing he is Welsh

I sat in the bright locker room inside the velodrome, I had been told to wait here for 'someone'. I had been sat here for ten minutes and still no one had arrived. I held my new teardrop helmet in one hand and my gloves in the other.
I heard the door move and in walked a well dressed man with a suit, tie and a briefcase. He came in and sat down next to me without saying a word. He then opened his briefcase and revealed 6 needles laying perfectly on a tray. He finally said "A little something for that extra edge." I looked at him and reached for a needle...
