Race Favourites:
| | HILL | | Di Maggio | 82 | | Froome | 81 | | Ulissi | 80 | | Dowsett | 80 | | Montfort | 79 | | Gautier | 79 | | Roy | 79 | | Betancourt | 79 | | Zaini | 79 | | Barrio | 79 | | Bellis | 78 | | Mehr-Wenige | 78 | | --- --- | | | McEvoy | 76 | | Ventoso | 76 | | Weimann | 76 | | Rabon | 76 |
On this circuit route we are up and down all stage long. A hill lasting around 2.5 kilometres, with percentages up to around 7%, has to be dealt with many times. High gradient hills aren't here, but as the course is up and down all day, the race may be in pieces come the finish.
Di Maggio starts as favourite, but will it require more than just an outright puncheur to win here? There isn't too much separating the top favourites, though Ulissi's decent sprint could make all of the difference.
If the race is less aggressive than expected we may expect the puncheurs with the best sprints, McEvoy & Rabon, to be up there at the finish.
Aside from the above names, a dark horse like Cobo or Zeits might feature well in Kazakhstan.

Low expactations and therefore a kinda relaxing race to follow. Of course hoping for Visconti and Jiao to grab some minor points. Both had some decent results in hilly classics here and there, but definitely too far down the favorites list this time. Top-20 will do.

Hope for a top 5 from Gautier and a fair few riders in the top 30. Surprise s not to see Van Stayen here. |

Tough competition as always, Froome should do well but all depends how the race finishes.

Bellis's stamina should come into play here so hopeful of a good result possible top 5 again would be great. |

My only hopes for this race are Vorganov and Cardoso...
Vorganov could do well in a really small group, whereas Cardoso could win it when a bigger group gets to sprint for victory.
But really I expect 0 points here.

Ulissi for the win and What about my team do not expect much, maybe the top 15 from McEvoy and the presence on the break nothing more than that

Hoping for a Top 10, although Zaini is quite good at Downhills and there is a lot of downhilling on this course so hopefully that can benefit him somehow.

Top 15-20 for Rabon should be doable, i hope for less selective race and top10 finish in some group sprint after the solo finishers like Froome, Ulissi and others, good luck to all.

This is an important benchmark for the remainder of the season for AMEXpc. Our hilly squad needs to perform up to expectations. We are not challengers for the podium but we need to see Mehr-Wengie finish in the top 10 and get 2 more into the top 20.
Teamwork will be critical. We need a rider in the break and we need our domestiques to get our top rider into position at the final 1/4 of the race.
Deiteren or Cieslik need to muscle their way into the break, so that Mehr-Wenige, Taborre and Barredo can all be in the top 20.

Gasparotto or Wegmann could do something here, depending on how hard the hills are. Need to not cancel each other out and to collect some points here. |

Hoping that Ulissi can finally get a win. He has a decent chance if it would get down to a sprint.

Ulissi delivers, which is somehow nice to see. Congrats, Kami! Some riders with an off-day though, which ain't nice for those teams, but good for Visconti Guess his decent overall stats paid off, plus the less aggressive racing to hang on. Kinda nice feeling to read a report with no mention of your rider, who then comes in for tour third 7th place in a classic or GC this month.
No offense, The Rider. Thanks for yet another report!

Poor Meiji
Another very unlucky day for them. I swear me, Valv and Avin should create a club for people with bad luck with the game this year.
Well, congrat's Kami! Ulissi was the strongest today. |

Meh. Guess Maillet being in the break stopped Gautier from attacking, leading to a disappointment. Still, he has plenty of races left to put that right - and none of our rivals for the top 10 significantly outscored us. Thanks Rider for another great report |

Froome is really lame in the classics.. So much work for him to sit up and forgot about countering the favourites. Good logic
Aside one win Froome has been truly awful in one day races.
