Four stages, all of which could end in a sprint, and a 29 KM TT form the route for the HC Post Danmark Rundt.
GC Favourites:
| | FLAT | TT | | Rogers | 68 | 81 | | Ford | 63 | 81 | | Ignatiev | 80 | 80 | | Reus | 77 | 79 | | Olman | 68 | 79 | | Tennant | 77 | 78 | | Ligthart | 72 | 78 |
With this route the winner of the final stage will likely end up as the overall winner. Last year the final stage TT was just 14 KM, meaning some sprinters could hope for a decent GC place, that is not the case this year. Oz Cycling Project have three of the top favourites here for the TT and could end up with multiple riders up there in the GC, however, will their riders survive the inevitable gaps and splits which are sure to form on the first four stages.
Metinvest-Emirates find themselves in a difficult position in the rankings, they expect to podium here, at least, with Ignatiev they have one of the top favourites. On a good day the likes of Reus (former winner of this race), Tennant and Ligthart could well end up on the GC podium with a good TT.
Aside from these 'big names' we might see a good result from the likes of Barth, Johansson, Ma, Meier and Westra depending on who is feeling good.
Stages 1 - 4 Favourites:
| | FLAT | SPRINT | ACC. | | Lo Cicero | 72 | 84 | 84 | | Ciolek | 75 | 83 | 79 | | Goss | 74 | 82 | 78 | | Vanderbiest | 74 | 81 | 77 | | Maksimov | 72 | 81 | 84 | | Holloway | 78 | 80 | 82 | | Cabrera | 75 | 80 | 77 | | Greipel | 74 | 80 | 78 | | Kupfernagel | 74 | 80 | 80 | | Richeze | 73 | 80 | 79 |
With their being four potential sprint finishes here we, of course we do, see a massive armoury of sprinters make the start line! There is no Napolitano or Colbrelli present for Lo Cicero, however, he will be confident that his sprint train is capable enough to put him in the right place at the right time, the same can be said for Ciolek. Whereas it will be interesting to see how Goss goes with his team keeping an eye on the GC.
RBC Pro Cycling and Privatbank - Nemiroff may not have the fastest outright sprinter, however, they bring each bring at least three good quality sprinters to the startline, so expect some sprint trains from them, maybe.
Aside from the above names expect the likes of Bennett, Hutarovich, Nelson and Gasparotto to get in the mix of things in the sprints.
Stage 2 is bit lumpy towards the finish and stage 3 is even more so, maybe we can expect the top puncheurs here (Ignatiev, Gatto and Trentin) to put in a late attack.
Boeing-Bulgaria Bicycling, Gazelle and Magna - Ryanair are amongst the teams that will do well to get decent ranking points out of this race, breakaways are in order there.
Highlights from 2013:
Betancourt winning stage 3 with a '14 gap back to the peloton, will a punchy attack result in a similar result on stage 3 this time around?
Captain America on his way to winning the TT and, subsequently, the GC.
How will the 2014 Post Danmark Rundt turn out?

The best thing to happen to us was that Cabrera at least won a stage, since with that 30km ITT, there's no way he's going to do much, GC wise, unless he won all stages, which won't happen, since at least one, will be won by a breakaway.
Hopefully Donald can grab a top 15. |

Our second win goal after coming 8th in our first one. Hoping for some improvement here. |

Oz should gather a nice haul of points with this one. I think you can say it's their race to lose, unless, of course, someone dominates the rest of the sprint stages, or there is an abnormal event like a crash or echelon.
It should be a nice sprinting showdown though. Also nice preview there The Rider.

Obviously a race, where i am hoping for something very good. We struggled in stage races like that so far (Ford crashed in Olympia for example), so at least one rider avoiding any splits would be fine enough. Of course stage win should be the minimum goal with Goss and Rogers/Ford amongst the very best on all terrains here.
One of those crucial races to stay in tiouch with our promotion fight. Like Gustav said, it's a race to lose though. Fingers crossed

If Igantiev doesn't win this race and I was Avin I would seriously kill someone.

Hoping Vaitkus can win some time with a late attack. Otherwise Konovalovas should be able to do well..

We'll target stage 3 with Gasparotto and hope he can grab enough bonus seconds to get a decent GC. |

Looking forward to seeing what Holloway can do in GC. Ligthart is the backup but he can't necessarily be depended upon to turn in a good, longer time trial. Ignatiev I think will win.

We need a good race here (as I've said in our past 5 races, without result). Stage 1 and 4 are the best suited for Maksimov, but admittedly he is as predictable as a woman so we'll have to see what he decides to do. Other than that any GC result is out of the question, barring of course if Maksimov gets bonus seconds from 4 stage wins.

I hope at least several top10, and see Kupfernagel dispute victories in this race.
I have some doubts that Marcel Barth get a decent result

Vaitkus is a beast, his flat stat is incredibly valuable, although I think he actually tried to help Greipel here as he was quite close to him on the first screen of the sprint.

Keep up that high pace, drop Ford and possibly Rogers and the podium becomes possible - even if Ciolek wins all 4 stages, it's a nigh on 30km tt so a sprinter isn't winning this. If we can get a few more of the low flat TTers dropped then we can go for breaks - stage 3 looks like a promising breakaway terrain. |

Good flat out powerhouse sprint that from Ciolek - should be interesting couple of stages coming up now though with some sharp hills.

It was not quite the start I expected, but I think the next stages things can improve.
I'm not only happy to see opponent in the fight for top 15 win as many points

Wow, poor opener for Oz. Olman dropped and Goss not even in the mix. The latter quite surprising to see, hopefully an exception..
