Monterrey TTT
Going into it's second edition, the TTT in Monterrey offers the timetrial-focussed teams in the PCT/CT an unique chance to go for a prestigious victory in a one day classic.
The course is rated as flat, but features a rather hilly first sector, as well as another short climb after the second split. The less strong puncheurs amongst the TT-specialists may suffer on the first half and the teams need to go with smart tactics to grab the win. Last year's edition was won by Oz Cycling ahead of Metinvest (20 seconds) and Alstom-RBC (26): three teams, that will be at the start this year again!
The Startlist
The Teams
Team | TTT-setup | Oz Cycling Project | 81-81-79-78-77-74-74 | Metinvest-Emirates | 80-77-77-75-74-73-68 | Kazzinc Procycling | 77-77-76-76-76-72-72 | | | Swedbank - PEAB | 77-75-75-73-71-71-71 | RBC Pro Cycling | 76-74-73-71-70-70-67 | La Vie Claire | 79-76-72-72-70-70-70 | Karcher-Adira Racing | 77-76-74-74-72-72-57 | Bonsucro | 75-74-74-72-71-68-68 | Team Chiquita - Universal | 74-74-72-71-70-69-67 | | | Jaguar - Eritel | 75-74-72-70-69-64-53 | AMEXpc | 72-70-69-68-67-67-62 | Boeing-Bulgaria Bicycling | 74-73-69-67-61-60-59 |
Oz Cycling and Metinvest should be amongst the top-favorites again, this time joined by a strong Kazzinc team, which will be in the mix for the win, too. Those three teams look like the clear favorites, but as said in the preview, it's a tricky profile and there will be more teams with minor hopes to achieve a great result.
Swedbank, La Vie, Karcher, as well as the CT-teams Bonsucro and Chiquita may have a shot at a podium, even though the latter lack some depths when it comes to their three worst riders here. Same goes for Jaguar, which lines up with a solid trio to lead the team.. just making up the numbers and adding easy points towards the rankings: AMEX and Boeing.
Note: The race was originally meant to be reported by someone else, who couldn't do the job now unfortunately. Expect the report being online later today or tomorrow at the latest.

Finally some race where we can aim for podium
Oz should win this easily (if the profile will not slow down their terrible climbers) and i think Metinvest will fight for podium with Kazzinc,Swedbank and LVC. 2nd would be great for us.
I had to leave Popovych home because of his race days (if i knew how he will suck in mountains withg PCM13, i would decide the other way). If he was present, 73 would be the lowest stat...

Can't really recall last year's race in it's whole process, but looking at this 20"-gap we had last season, I won't expect a dominating win like CountArach here Definitely a must-win for Oz though, for sure. Except of some shitty climbers (while other teams will have some on their rosters, too), we have by far the best overall lineup here. Rogers/Ford already went for the win in Differdange, so I expect those two plus Bobridge/Koren to pull off another victory.
Good luck to all others. Cheering for Metinvest (for runner-up), as Kazzinc lacks an active manager anyway

This was my win goal, unfortunately I could not hire Fielder and Kittel so of course it will be a failed goal. Still are already guaranteed some points and I think it is possible to stay at TOP7.
I do not see anyone else able to fight for victory beyond OZ

Looking forward to this one, we will treat anything above a top 10 as a bonus. Hoping for a decent screen of the team in the TTT gear aswell.
OZ for 1st and Metinvest for 2nd, from there down is a bit of a mix up. |

Will be interesting to see how well OZ work together - not dissimilar to SRB's Team time trial set up, that said ours is better of course
Oz though to win but I think by about 30 seconds, very comfortable in this sort of test.

Decided to finish off my June-schedule today, there he we are with the report already.
Congrats to... well
Bonsucro with kind of a shocker here, at least at the first two splits. Kinda feel sorry for Metinvest to miss out on the runner-up against an inactive team, but this was always going to be a close one.

So slow we don't even get a mention Happy to take the free ranking points!
Quite a scare for Oz there but they got their win in the end. Very impressive performance by Bonsucro.

Sorry for not mentioning (and missing screens for) teams like Jaguar, Boeing and AMEX. Trying to limit the screens per report Anyway, getting some points out of this should make up for that, huh?

More points in the bank. We were never a threat, but we surprised some with a 5th at the 1st split. Then well things went downhill.
Looking forward to July. Manx International could be a very good indicator of AMEX's remaining races. Our punchuers need to rise to a new level and deposit some points.
It's time for Marko Kump and Dieter Mehr-Wenige to challenge for top 10's.

Phenomenal!
Literally a jaw dropping race for the team, to lead at the first split and to beat the likes of RBC and La Vie. The up and down route really added some dynamics, so it wasn't 100% about the TT stat, guess that helped the team big time.
Really enjoyed the report, breaking it up into the 3 sectors created some damn good reading.
The ideal result on the eve of a fresh month with plenty of races. That wraps up June, am thinking a rankings update may be around the corner.
Anyway .... WOW!

Could have been better but it could also have been worse. The hills were an important factor in the delivery of my team as this aspect most of the team was weak
