Omega Pharma-Quickstep goes steep
Omega Pharma-Quickstep lacks strength in the Mountains?
"Not anymore, because we have made a deal with young italian Matteo La Bestia.
He will be our leader in the Giro d'Italia and we hope that he can achieve big things in the Future.
Both sides are quite happy with the deal, because both sides could profit very well from this.
We needed a good rider for the steep sections, and Matteo needed a team to start his career with. We think that our team, with our overall capabilites, could assist Matteo very well in the tougher stages of a GT. We believe, that our rival teams are still better, when the road gets steeper, but we in the Management Department think it's a step in the right direction. The direction of making Omega Pharma-Quickstep an overall contender in Grand Tours.
Maybe Matteo will indruduce himself later..."

"There are rumors, that Niki Terpstra isn't really happy at OPQS. Maybe he will change his mind, but it looks like he will leave the team in the transfer period.
Also, we are looking for real Stage Racers out there. With Matteo La Bestia, we have covered the Giro, but we still need someone for the GC of the Tour de France...
We actually have 2 Main Targets...More on that later...."

The Time Trial World Championships were really good for Omega Pharma - Quickstep. All 3 men finished inside the top 10.
Sylvain Chavanel had a great time out there and finished 6th.
Tony Martin was the main favourite today.
He was the fastest at every checkpoint.
As he came through the last corner, he knew, that he is again the World Champion.
Congratulations to Tony. We are already working at a Championship jersey for next Season. We hope you will like it.

Boonen tells you: I want full leadership on the cobbles in the WT
Cavendish tells you: I want to ride le Tour this year with a decent sprint train [for this part you can assume he's signed already]

Please reassure your riders.

Tom, you will have full leadership on all cobbled races. Niki and Zdenek will assist you in those races.
Mark, your sprinttrain will contain the likes of Tony and Tom and other great riders. And you will ride the tour of course. We would also like you to compete in the Giro, if you like to.
Tony, of course you can ride the tour. on top of this you will vompete in all TTs you wish to.(at least 4, i have not a clue which ones, because i have no pc).
