Someone doesn't understand the concept of APRIL fools
But also there is some continuning rumors and discussion around the Hour record. One of the more interesting was that Wiggins might delay until 2017, after the olympics, and that Phinney is apparently considering taking on the challenge (alongside Cancellara, Martin and Wiggins)
Not really cycling news, but it shows the importance of doping tests. Decathlete Thomas Van der Plaersen tested positive for unusual hormone values yesterday. Further testing showed he did not dope, but that this was the result of an undiscovered testicular cancer. He's going into surgery tomorrow.

Poor guy
One of the saddest news I ever read. At least no one knows him and no one threw shit before it was discovered that he had cancer.

I hope it was an early catch.
The goalkeeper of my home football team (second division) was diagnosed with that earlier this year, and thanks to summer break and good surgery he only missed a few games and is a no-brainer starter in perfect form again.
He tried in 2011 when he was in good shape. Won Giro but 5th at TdF.
Yes this year he looked better. He can certainly beat Nibali at Giro but Quintana and Froome at TdF is difficult. But if one guy can then it's Contador.
Another conti-pro italian team: the former continental team Vini Fantini-Nippo-De Rosa will become a ContiPro the next year and it confirms the Cunego's rumours: he will move there. Though, I feel confused: Neri Sottoli and Vini Fantini are basically the same team, or more specifically, the last one is almost the conti-team of Neri Sottoli, (a bit like Katusha and RusVelo the last years, even if Katusha now has Itera), so what this will mean?
They also confirmed Giacomo Berlato, Nicolas Marini and Antonio Nibali, the brother of the more famous Vincenzo. They all have a BRIGHT future in front of them. Berlato won a race some days ago, Marini won 17 races in 2 years and Nibali is a bit like Dayer Quintana

You have to remember that the 2011 Giro was a insane route with monster mountain stages and loooooong transfers so no surprise he ran out of gas at the Tour. He also had the upcoming suspension hanging over his head
