The decision came one warm saturday evening. Milan Erzen decided to reduce his efforts as the general manager of Adria Mobil. A shock for all of us, especially thinking of the fact that Adria always achieved solid points in the Europe Tour. There was a developement from the beginning in 2003 until now. The highlight was when Radoslav Rogina managed to win our home tour last year, the Tour of Slovenia. So he retired after his most glorious season as a manager. But together with his captains, Radoslav Rogina and Matej Mugerli, he searched for new characters, who could fit to the team...
Season 2014 - Adria Mobil
Team-Presentation
Transfers: With David Per and Domen Novak we have two young, talented riders, new in our team. Pavel Gorenc and Simon Pavlin had to give their spots in the team away. They were both faithful helpers for their road captains. But Adria has defined themselves in a way of helping young talents from the lokal regions, so that they can get a world tour contract one time. So our new young men want to go this way, Kristijan Durasek, Marko Kump, Marco Haller, Grega Bole and Robert Kiserlovski are the latest examples for this way. Also new is the general manager. Former slovenian scout Juraj Gaspar will lead the team. Together with Tadej Valjavec he will be responsible for results, contracts, infrastructure and behaviour of the team and his members.
Team:
We are a team of 10 riders from Slovenia and Croatia+Tadej and me, touring through the world of cycling for our passion.
Leaders
Matej Mugerli (32/Puncheur/Slo)
Radoslav Rogina (34/Climber/Cro)
Free Role
Tomasz Nose (31/Climber/Slo)
David Per (18/Fighter/Slo)
Domen Novak (18/Puncheur/Slo)
Domestiques
Kristjan Fajt (31/Fighter/Slo)
Aljaz Hocevar (22/Sprinter/Slo)
Klemen Stimulak (23/Allrounder/Slo)
Bruno Maltar (19/Allrounder/Cro)
Primoz Roglic (24/Allrounder/Slo)
Our goals for my first season will be the local races, the Tour of Slovenia as the major goal. Minor goals should be the National Championships of Slovenia and Croatia, Top 10 results in european and international .1 races and maybe some victories in smaller races in Slovenia, Croatia, Italy and Eastern Europe.
By getting the most developed material for our bikes Specialized will help us to reach our goals. If we manage to get a good season we might get an increased sponsoring deal for next season. Similar is our deal with the main co-sponsor Fiat. Our other in cycling trusting sponsors are Krka, Isostar and Triglav. In a conference with representatives of our sponsors, Tadej and me, we planned a project. A project that should bring us to the world tour in around the next five years, to make our sponsors popular all over the world, to reach the glory of winning important races, to give the talents a good reason to stay, to sign the strongest Slovenian cyclist, to make our country pride.
Spoiler In this Story I will take the role of general manager Juraj Gaspar. The FCD2014 is the database i chose beacause of the depth of races and teams in the Continental Circuit. I spent loads of hours to change especially the World Tour stats to make it more realistic. It´s my first story so if you have any tips or suggestions for me I would really be thankful (f.e. how to put stage profiles and results in here). |

Really interesting. Back in time, I had Adria story myself in PCM12 and it wasn't really successful (21 pages), but I managed to finish my season. Hopefully, your story will be much better in terms of popularity and length. It also looks nice considering it's your first story.
Srećno, komšija!

Vuelta al Tachira en Bicicleta (2.2)
Goals
It´s not an important race for us. We can´t get many Points for it and we have no local partners in Venezuela. But for our young riders it can be a crucial experiance to ride in the January heat on another continent. So mainly we take party for Matej Mugerli. He is not fresh enough for winning this race, but should get some kilometers in his legs to be prepared for the early italian bumpy or hilly .1 races. We will try to go in Breakaways for Stages and if possible go for the top 10 in GC, despite mountain-captain Radoslav Rogina is not selected for this race, issued by having a lack of form. Tomasz Nose will go for the GC, and the trio of Mugerli (if he achieves some better freshness) and our neo-riders Per and Novak can go for stage victories. Kristjan Fajt should go for tactical breakaways or be the last man for Nose in the hills.
Team
Captain: Nose
Co-Captain: Mugerli
Stage Hunters: Per & Novak
Domestiques: Fajt, Stimulak, Roglic, Hocevar
Stage 1(hilly): David Per took part in a four riders breakaway including Infantino, Svendsen and Ponciano, but they cought out 18km before the finishing line. With 4 kms to go Byrom Guama(Team Ecuador) acceleratedcrucially and reached the finish line directly in front of the sprinting bunch. Guevara(San Luis) finished second, Jesse Anthony(Optum) third in this slightly uphill final.
Stage 2(flat): My riders should rest as good as possible for the hard tour. Jacobe Keough(5-hour) won the sprint in front of Jure Kocjan(SmartStop) and Samuel Caldeira(OFM).
Stage 3(hilly): Mugerli is still not fit enough so Fajt went in the breakaway from the start on. With 11 kms to go the breakaway got absorbed, so that Lucas Gaday(Buenos Aires) attacked. The young Argentinian managed to hold off the disorganized peloton and celebrated 22 seconds in front of the bunch, where Miguel Minguez(Euskadi) and Matthew Lloyd(Jelly Belly) completed the podium. In the large Group Matej finished fourth ant Tomasz sixth.
Stage 4(bumpy): David Per had another breakaway day attacking all the start. The group of three had 20 km to go when four riders including Pöstlberger came over. On the final hill Matej managed to reach this group with the help of Tomasz Nose, and brought Diniz, Diaz and Minguez with them. These 12 riders sprinted for vitory and Mingeuz took it by an early acceleration, even catching solo attacker Pöstlberger on the final kilometer, who finished fourth. Place 2 went to Chamorro, Place 3 to Diaz, P6 to Matej. The peloton was so near at the end, that there were no time gaps and Gaday stayed in yellow.
Stage 5(Mountain): The race started with a 20 km downhill, where Matej Mugerli managed to go in the breakaway with five other riders. Than the road flattened for 50 kms, until the climb to La Grita started, with monumental 23 kms of around 9%. Mugerli got rid of all the breakaway mates on the mountion, but with 2kms to go Juan Chamorro(4-72 Colombia) managed to catch up with Mugerli and distance him. With Mugerli upfront Nose attacked late from the yellow jersey group. So Chamorro won the stage achieving a magnifiscient gap to the other GC contender
1 | Juan Chamorro | 4-72 - Colombia | 3h13'22 | 2 | Matej Mugerli | Adria Mobil | + 53 | 3 | Eduard Prades | OFM - Quinta Da Lixa | + 1'16 | 4 | Daniel Ricardo Diaz | San Luis Somos Todos | + 1'52 | 5 | Alex Cano Ardila | IDEA - Loteria De Meddelin | + 2'04 | 6 | Alex Diniz | Funvic Brasilinvest - São José dos Campos | + 2'39 | 7 | Tomasž Nose | Adria Mobil | + 3'19 | 8 | Pedro Nicacio | Funvic Brasilinvest - São José dos Campos | s.t. | 9 | Miguel Minguez | Euskadi | + 3'45 | 10 | Carter Jones | Optum p/b Kelly Benefit Strategies | s.t. |
The yellow Jersey of Lucas Gaday resisted with 8km to go and lost over ten minutes. Mugerli went up to second in GC behind new leader Chamorro, Adria Mobil managed to get the yellow numbers for the leader in the team classification.
Stage 6(hilly): In David Pers third breakaway he finally managed to come through with the four men group. Badly he got sorted out on the last climb by an attack of Ricardo Vilela(OFM) who managed to hold of Per and Jaramillo(EPM-UNE) from the original break. In the sprint of two Per could hold on sprinting from the front and reaching second place. A great result for our youngster! Matej suffered on the last hill and lost contact, while Thomas stayed with him. On the descent Matej crashed down while hunting the yellow jersey group of favourites, and told Tomasz to go on his own. Tomasz actually managed to get to the group which Minguez brought to the finish line on P5. Matej lost 1:20 and his second place overall, while Tomasz gained to P8 four Minutes down.
Stage 7(Mountain):Full Mountain stage with 20km downhill in the end. The breakawy group was no danger at all, but Matejs form was so we decided to have an early go with Tomasz Nose. Aljaz Hocevar lead him an attack and worked 15km for Tomasz, so that he had a gap of two minutes to the peloton when Aljaz legs refused to ride a hard pace. So Tomasz beautifully went on his own and reached the breakaway on the end of the last climb. With five minutes down the peloton reacted too late, so that Nose could dream of yellow by attacking the breakaway and dropping one after the other. After his final attack on the downhill Tomasz had Arkaiz Duran(OFM) with him, who hold on so that Tomasz rode for the GC and lead Duran to the stage win. The group of favs was 5 Minutes down, with Mugerli missing in there and losing three minutes to the main contenders. But Tomasz Nose rode to the yellow jersey with an advantage of one minute to Chamorro and three to the main opponents. He is definitly on great form and seems to aim at being te GC-Captain this season.
Stage 8(Mountain): The stage was similar to Stage 5, so a long time the field was easy to control with five riders at front(Stimulak quit the race issued by a cold). On the big climb the last man Hocevar rode away with Mugerli and Nose by accident; Fajt lifted his legs after done work and created a gap by falling back. Mugerli took over the pace-making and brought Nose in a good position having the other favourites in a broken field fighting on their own. Directly at the end of the climb Nose reached the last breakaway riders, but could only get P2, in time with winner Diego Ares(Prefeitura de Santos), Edwin Jaramillo(EPM) and Gregor Mühlberger(Tirol). Diniz lost 0:36, Mugerli 0:47 and Diaz 1:31, but former second placed Chamorro lost over 10 minutes. Nose is now nearly sure the winner of the Tachira, leading by over five minutes.
Stage 9(Mountain): Stage 9 is like stage 8, at first flat and then a long hard time steep as hell. We had no trouble to control the break but then we saw on a clean paper who the best climber of this tour might be without tactical issues. Alex Cano Ardila(Loteria de Medellin) dropped all his opponents; at least his three companions Diniz(Funvic), Nose and Diaz(San Luis), for a great solo victory. The other three finished together in the shown order. Matej Mugerli suffered early on this climb losing eleven minutes and all his GC ambitions.
Stage 10(hilly): The last stage created a big group on hilly terrain. P7(Gomez Pineda), 12 and 13 were in the break, but too far behind to be a real problem for our GC leader. In spite of that we didn´t gave them too much advantage, so at the end Matej and Tomasz finished in a selected group 3 minutes down to the breakaway group including winner Edward Ortiz(EPM-UNE). Cano Ardila had a hard day losing 1:32 to the other GC contenders and been kicked off the podium on the last stage.

Review
The overall victory by Nose was more than expected and a great start for the project. Mugerli has tried his best and now has some hard stages improving his preperation for the early Italian classics. Novak had less chances, but Per was showing his skills by riding in the breakaway often and finishing on place two one stage. Stimulaks cold is also cured so all participants can be happy about the trip.

You also have few story-tips around, which are always nice to read before the first story, so you might consider doing that:

Coppa Costa degli Etruschi (1.1)
Team
Captain: Mugerli
Free Youth-Captain: Nowak
Breakaway rider: Per, Stimulak
Domestiques: Hocevar, Maltar, Roglic, Fajt
(Tomasz stayed in South America to train for the next race in Brazil, this one is too flat for him.)
The Stage
Favourites
Plan
The profile is maybe a little bit too flat for my team, my captains are both hilly Sprinters. The opponents are also really strong in comparision to a CT-Team. So we will try at first to get in the breakaway with the better positioned rider and then counter-attack with Mugerli if favourites attack, but stay with Novak in the field for a bunch sprint.
Spoiler I will add the race soon, but at first I wanted to try the screenshot uploading |
