Hi,
I am here with this new thread to start gathering feedback on the Story Games section of the forum. Created rather reluctantly to stop the normal Story sections being overun it felt for a while like we were starting to be forgotten about down here.
As part of the Admin team i want to find some ways to improve and grow this thriving and active part of the forum. I have already contacted a few of you to start gathering ideas and now i'm opening the discussion up to the rest of you.
The ideas so far are:
1) Becoming visible in the "Latest Active Forum Threads" on the front page
2) Expanding with one/two/three new Sections
3) Expanding into our own Sub-Forum
4) Giving each active game a sticky thread for important announcements
5) Moving up to the "PCM 14" Sub-Forum
Feel free to add your own ideas, or discuss those above, in this thread. 4+5 should happen soon for sure, 1-3 will need a bit more time and discussion with the other admins. |

1) perhaps in a different way, something similiar like the Man-Game Transfers had on the "Latest Active Forum Threads" if you don't care at all about the "story games" games, you can easily ignore it.
2-3) aren't those basically the same thing? can you explain a bit what you mean by those?
4) might be usefull, since the main threads are usually pushed back
5) I don't need to scroll down so much  and more seriously, the EPIC Tour is being played on 14 and so will the Vuelta (reported by yours truly  ) ICL however is still on 13. so I'm kinda have mixed feelings against it

I like the idea of having a similar menu to the MG Transfers, and would please the more powerful admins more.
They are basically the same thing, so think of it as an "either or" situation. Realistically any more than one more sub-section would probably require moving to a whole Sub-Forum. But while this would open up a variety of options, it would probably be placed right down the bottom of the list which might not be great for gaining or maintaining interest from newer members.
The Stickied threads will definitely happen, just requires myself to contact the game owners and confirm their set-up and functionality.
Moving up would only happen if we did not move to a Sub-Forum. It also needs one of the more powerful guys to do it, and i think it may take a few more PCM14 reporters first. Especially as ICL is PCM13 only atm.

thanks, my good ideas are few and far between but when I have a good idea, it is brilliant
that whole sub section isn't really needed when I think about it, perhaps if there were multiple games with different interest (and not two games with basically the same people in both games) it will start being usefull but for now, maybe not.
agree on not moving up to PCM14 yet, the majority is still being played on 13 so don't really see any reason for moving up to 14.
well see what happens

So quick question. We roll into 2015 and the Story Games section is still PCM13 based.
If you report races for either ICL or EPIC can you please either reply here or PM me with which version of PCM you use?
Hopefully enough of us now use PCM14 to get the sub-forum bummped upwards a bit.

I've reported races for EPIC with PCM14 but I don't think I'm to do so this year due to hardware issues

I still only have PCM13. As this season I expect EPIC to be run on whatever the reporters have. At least there will be both a PCM13 and 14 version of the DB.

IF I should get the chance to report a race again...I will be reporting on PCM 13. I still have 14, too, but I like the looks of 13 more and it has better looking stages.
