With the Tour only a month away, the news items on it get become more numerous by the day. So it's time for a Tour-specific thread for all news and discussion!
Unlike ordinary news topics I do have some very relevant news to share, hence I made the topic:
Wiggins will not ride the Tour De France.
According to an article in L'Équipe this morning, Wiggins is convinced he will not ride the Tour:
"The way things are looking now, I will not be at the Tour. It became clear in the last couple of weeks. Only if Froome gets injured, I may be able to go as a helper for Richie Porte. Should another rider drop, I would not even be allowed to take his place."
"I was completely willing to settle in the role of domestique. I wanted to put myself in service of Froome for 100%. After last year's World Championship this was also the agreement. But in the last few weeks, everything remained remarkably quiet. I wasn't invited to altitude training camps anymore. Then you know wat is going on."
"I think it's a real shame that I can't ride the Tour. It maybe would have been my last Tour de France. If I ever want to ride one again, it won't be for Sky. I have already talked to Orica-GreenEdge, but there's nothing substantial yet."
"I am now focusing on the track, for the Olympics. I will miss the Tour."
In summary, Brad thinks that Froome doesn't want him on the team and unless Froome himself is dropped, there is no room for Brad.
My dislike for Team Sky is only growing. Theyre being very nasty torwards sir Bradley. Treating a TDF winner like a rubbish, I find it really disgraceful really. I felt that he could do something with that cobbled stage and distance Froome.exe

The other day Froome said Wiggins was mentally unsuited to leading in a GT in yet another case of Froome being a whiny bitch about 2012. If Froome was even half a decent human being he'd let it go now, two years later.
The truth is that if Brad did want to ride the Tour again he would need to leave Sky or Froome not be going. I hope the Sky management tells Froome to suck a c*ck and puts Brad into the team, as a strong helper and because he is still the biggest cycling star in the UK.

Quoted for truth!
Wiggins is at least charismatic and a figure of sports. Froome is some guy who's decent at cycling, has a weird head and who published his unnecessary, arrogant autobiography 20 years too early. The guy is by now utterely without any class.
Also about le Tour: Kittel asks fans for support and respect.

I dislike Sky aswell but to say they are treating it like rubbish is wrong, up until just recently Wiggins has been changing his mind on season goals pretty regularly and with Froome there undisputed leader at the race why would they take Wiggins? Keeping Froome happy would be there main goal and they already have the riders to help him over the cobbles and plenty of climbers so Wiggins inclusion doesn't make much sense.
In saying all that I hope they crash and burn and the Tour

Let's hope that the Sky-bikes get stolen before every stage, so that after a few stage there aren't even bikes left in their storage (I dont want riders to crash out), and the team has to leave the Tour

Although I don't like Froome at all, I think it's very harsh to wish someone to get injured. I just hope Froome gets crushed in this field and gets dropped on every single piece of road that's steeper than 2%

Is any one going to Yorkshire watch the first 2 stages? Live 15 minutes from the Stage 1 finish so I'm definitely going to try and see it.

Enjoy folks - stage 2 looks particularly interesting for so early in a TdF. I'm looking forward to that one.
