Hey everyone, my name is Dylan Jones, and I'm going to be sharing my cycling career with others at this site.
I was born on 7 July 1991 in the great city of Cardiff, Wales to a middle class family. Both my parents followed cycling, and so I grew up a big fan of the sport. I've always been a fan of the guy who poured his heart out in the breakaway only to get caught in the final kilometers, and that is the kind of rider I am today. I'm a fighter, always looking to go on the attack. I have always been known by the friends as a guy who can just keep on going, and I used my fighting spirit and endurance to dominate the local races as a youngster. Things got more difficult as I couldn't win on strength alone and I didn't do much in my junior years, and I almost gave up on cycling. I sure am glad I didn't, as I got a call from Team GBR, and they let me know I was selected for the 2012 U23 World Championships.
When I got to the race, I didn't sit in the bunch, I went on the attack and was in the day's breakaway. I was obviously caught, but I was the last to be brought back, and some pro teams gave me a call a few days later. Here are the teams that gave me an offer:
Hincapie Sportswear
Node 4 Giordana
Jelly Belly
IG Simga Sport
All of these are free role and around 2,250 Euros per month.
Who do you think I should sign with? Let me know in the comments.
Until then, Dylan

Team Choice
Hey guys Dylan here, I assume you have heard from the media who I'm riding for next season! But in case you haven't I will be riding for Hincapie Sportswear next season. I choose them because they are A. Hincapie is a development team with connections to WT teams B. Hincapie will be doing all the big American races, as well as the Tour of Britain and a few more races in Europe. They have already given me my schedule, and I like it, light but not too light.
Race Schedule
GP Ville De Lallers - Souvenir Bruno Comini | Tour de Normandie | Volkswagen Sea Otter Classic | Joe Martin Stage Race | Tour of Estonia | Pearl Izumi Tour Series Round 8 | Tour de Korea | National Championships | Beaumont Trophy | Tour de Delta | Grand Prix Wales | East Yorkshire Classic | Ryedale GP | Ride Surrey-London Classic | USA Pro Cycling Challenge | Bucks County Classic | Tour of Britain |
My Goals
Now that you have seen my schedule, here the goals I have made based on that schedule here are my goals
1. Go in 15 breakaways
2. Take a win from the breakaway
3. Win 3 KOM jerseys
4. Get a High end PCT/ Low end WT contract at the end of the year
That's it for today, see you guys in France, Dylan.

Not sure why a Cardiff lad would particularly care about American races over the thriving UK calendar. Of which many events take place in Wales. Was a risky move without any guarantees of those UK races (luckily it seems the BCU needs some foreign teams in attendance)

Thanks to all the well wishers!
Manx: Well I choose Hincapie mainly for motivation as I really like the team, and I knew they would be riding all the big American races as well as some British ones.
First race up soon

GP Ville De Lallers - Souvenir Bruno Comini
Here we are, my first professional race in the peloton. All of the big French teams are here, and I imagine that one of their riders will take the win. The team's only ambition for this race is to get a guy in the breakaway. That guy won't be me, and I will just sit in the bunch today.
Our man in the 14 man breakaway was the Australian Joesph Lewis. Behind the chase was led by Bigmat, Europcar, and Bretange.
I doubt the commentators were talking about me in this shot, but there I am next to the Japanese Champion Arashrio.
It was a long chase, but eventually the break was brought back. However, the second they were brought back, Arashiro went on the attack, leaving the peloton on his own and getting a huge gap!
With 3 km to go, Arashiro still had 15 seconds to the charging sprinters, there is no way he can hang on though right?
The man from Japan barely hung on, but he made it and is rewarded with a solo victory in France! Giraud takes second and Vachon rounds out the podium in third. Our best rider is Manger in 18th, and I finish safely in 67th place.
Results
1 | Yukiya Arashiro | Team Europcar | 3h45'44 | 2 | Benjamin Giraud | La Pomme Marseille | s.t. | 3 | Florian Vachon | Bretagne - Séché Environnement | s.t. | 4 | Alex Candelario | Optum p/b Kelly Benefit Strategies | s.t. | 5 | Evaldas Siskevicius | Sojasun | s.t. | 6 | Rico Dene Rogers | Synergy Baku Cycling Project | s.t. | 7 | Yoeri Havik | Cyclingteam De Rijke - Shanks | s.t. | 8 | Julien El Fares | Sojasun | s.t. | 9 | Julian Alaphilippe | Etixx - iHNed | s.t. | 10 | Mathieu Drujon | BigMat - Auber 93 | s.t. |
It sure is nice to be back racing again! I didn't do much, but that sure was a nice ride form Arashiro. That is kind of attacking I like to try! My next race will be the Tour de Normandie and I will report the 8 stages in two reports. Until then, Dylan.
