Reporters Wanted
SportingNonsense
The off-season has been progressing at a very nice pace so far, just 1 and a half months after the last ranking race, already many teams have submitted their race planners. (Great improvement - there was 3 months between end2012/start2013 and 5 months between end 2011/start2012)

But to keep up this nice pace, we are going to need a few new reporters to come in and help keep the races ticking over through the season.

If you are interested in helping us report in PCM13, then please let me know.

Well, as i already said in the other thread, i'm very interested in reporting, and have both PCM 13 and some spare time to report. Is anything else required? If you want i can link you reports i did for EPIC?

SportingNonsense
What I'd usually ask for is an example report of a race, which is written in the style the ManGame needs. Lots of people have done stories, but those will focus on one team rather than all teams.

That can be a report you write fresh, or if you have done some for some of the Story Games, then you can send me a link to them instead.

I'd be happy to do some reporting as well, and I'll be racing LBL today in my BMC career, I'll do the report as I would for a MG race.

I'll probably be able to do reporting for the MG as stated in my application. I guess the Mini-MG Matteotti race would be an example report; you can PM me if you find any areas in which that can be improved upon. Smile

You can use some of my EPIC reports if you like. And I shouldn't have the jersey problem like I did with Mini Smile

Might have some limitations with reporting stage races, but I could do classics and some stage races.

Will definitely be applying. Perhaps I'll simply do a neutral report of a classic to do so.

As promised on Twitter, my report which will also be sent to SN as official application Wink

Welcome to the first stage of the Tour of Austria, taking us from Innsbruck to Küthai. It’s a 164 kilometre long stage, with a 20km final climb.

[img]https://i1213.photobucket.com/albums/cc463/fjhoekie/Reporter%20Application/PCM0007_zps762bf5c1.png
With this startlist it’s hard to tell who will be the favourites, but König, Aru, Frank, Capecchi and Busche should do really well here.

i1213.photobucket.com/albums/cc463/fjhoekie/Reporter%20Application/PCM0008_zps90a3b39e.png
Just 3 after 3 kilometres Corbel (Bretagne), Sokol (Gourmetfein), Nowak (CCC) and Monguzzi) try to get clear.
i1213.photobucket.com/albums/cc463/fjhoekie/Reporter%20Application/PCM0009_zps82ea93ff.png
Rezman (Vorarlberg) and Mohoric (Sava) also try to get lose, to form a six-man strong break. They succeed in doing this, and at the top of the firs climb they have a gap with the peloton. Sokol had a hard time staying up front after his attack, but he managed to do so, so we now have a break of those 6 riders.

The sprint got uncontested and was won by Nowak, Rezman was second, Sokol third.
i1213.photobucket.com/albums/cc463/fjhoekie/Reporter%20Application/PCM0011_zps546ca73b.png
The gap is 4 minutes when the 6 riders start their second ascend on the smaller, but also quite steep climb. In the pack it are the teams of RadioShack, BMC, Astana, Movistar and NetApp who are controlling the race.

As well as the Sprint, the KoM was uncontested, and won by Mohoric, infront of Monguzzi and Rezman.
The second sprint went to Corbel, Mohoric second and Moguzzi third.

i1213.photobucket.com/albums/cc463/fjhoekie/Reporter%20Application/PCM0015_zpsa96ef157.png
With 81 kilometres to go it’s Nose who tries the leave the pack. He’s followed by Jungels and Barbin creating the following situation with 75 kms to go:

Corbel, Sokol, Nowak, Monguzzi, Rezman, Mohoric –2.28-> Nose –0.34->Jungels –0.45-> Barbin –0.16-> Peloton.

i1213.photobucket.com/albums/cc463/fjhoekie/Reporter%20Application/PCM0019_zpsc56bd420.png
20 KM later the three mid-stage attackers have reached the initial break away of 6, and they start to co-operate well together. The lead is 3.20 minutes at this time.

The second KoM also has no fight. It’s won by Nose, Barbin gets second ahead of Jungels.
The third sprint goes to Nose, Rezman second, Mohoric third. The lead is 2.51 and Santaromita is leading the chase in the peloton.

i1213.photobucket.com/albums/cc463/fjhoekie/Reporter%20Application/PCM0022_zps2bbf4ca8.png
30 kilometres to go, this is the last time the break will climb the small hill. They still have a lead of 1:55. The peloton has been reduced a bit, 23 riders gone, no big names lost yet.

i1213.photobucket.com/albums/cc463/fjhoekie/Reporter%20Application/PCM0023_zpsf89c2264.png

On that small hill Santambrogio (Vini) tries his luck. He reaches the 9 riders in front of him, but at the top everyone’s back together. Or not?

i1213.photobucket.com/albums/cc463/fjhoekie/Reporter%20Application/PCM0024_zps48e93435.png

Somehow Nowak managed to get away once again, creating a gap of about a minute, and only a short downhill is all what remains until the riders face the climb to Küthai.

i1213.photobucket.com/albums/cc463/fjhoekie/Reporter%20Application/PCM0025_zps7c482175.png

But as soon as the climb starts it’s obvious Nowak’s energy has been drained. With 20kms to go he’s almost caught. Just 66 men form the front group now, meaning a lot more riders have been dropped already. But no don’t worry, all favourites are still where they should be!

i1213.photobucket.com/albums/cc463/fjhoekie/Reporter%20Application/PCM0027_zpsfaef5aaf.png

Astana takes full control over the race now, Agnoli has been leading the pack for 5 kms now, from the point where Nowak was caught until now, when there are 15 kms of climbing left. Aru must’ve said his legs are strong today!

i1213.photobucket.com/albums/cc463/fjhoekie/Reporter%20Application/PCM0028_zps8b7eca81.png

At this very same time Nowak gets dropped, and no one will remember his name, sadly. He rode a good stage and now he only has to make sure he finishes.

i1213.photobucket.com/albums/cc463/fjhoekie/Reporter%20Application/PCM0029_zps91ea6516.png

Only 10 kilometres to go, and it’s only now that Agnoli has given the lead to Seeldraeyers. Boy that Italian was strong today! Let’s hope for him his work will pay off, in the form of Aru winning.

i1213.photobucket.com/albums/cc463/fjhoekie/Reporter%20Application/PCM0030_zpsba1c9621.png

Several riders are suffering now after Agnoli’s long effort. The groups of riders dropped include Castroviejo and Plaza (Movistar) and Santaromita (BMC)

i1213.photobucket.com/albums/cc463/fjhoekie/Reporter%20Application/PCM0031_zpsc324a086.png

And here goes Capecchi! There are 7 gruelling kilometres left. Aru, König, Busche, Zoidl, Frank and Santambrogio try to follow the brave Italian.

i1213.photobucket.com/albums/cc463/fjhoekie/Reporter%20Application/PCM0032_zps8bd4b971.png

With 5 kilometres to go Aru and König have caught up with Capecchi, giving the following situation:
Aru, König, Capecchi –0.36-> Frank, Busche, Santambrogio –0.16-> Zoidl –1.00-> 27 riders, Rogina is leading this group.

i1213.photobucket.com/albums/cc463/fjhoekie/Reporter%20Application/PCM0033_zps50785fa7.png

And now Frank tries to bridge the gap to the 3 leaders! But at this same time Aru and König try to lose Capecchi! There are 4 kilometres to go and this race is full of action.

i1213.photobucket.com/albums/cc463/fjhoekie/Reporter%20Application/PCM0034_zps50c6831f.png

With 3 kilometres to go it looks like Aru is going solo, no one can keep up with the young Italian. König is following, 24 seconds behind. After him Capecchi is getting closer again, just 8 seconds behind König now. Frank is another 24 seconds down, Busche and Santambrogio follow him on just 28 seconds. Zoidl is staying close them at 17 seconds and the group lead by Rogina is 59 seconds behind Zoidl.

i1213.photobucket.com/albums/cc463/fjhoekie/Reporter%20Application/PCM0035_zpsd7c6fb27.png

And indeed Aru was strong today! He never lost a second to his opposition in the final 3 kms. Great win for him and the team. Think back to Agnoli’s work earlier, he was certainly the key to this win.

i1213.photobucket.com/albums/cc463/fjhoekie/Reporter%20Application/PCM0036_zps722b83aa.png

Meanwhile, Capecchi has overtaken König for second. Frank comes in as fourth.

i1213.photobucket.com/albums/cc463/fjhoekie/Reporter%20Application/PCM0037_zpsba5d6190.png

Following Frank are Santambrogio and Busche who get fifth and sixth respectively.

i1213.photobucket.com/albums/cc463/fjhoekie/Reporter%20Application/PCM0038_zpse9b2f7f1.png

The crowd on the line sees home favourite Zoidl taking seventh, 2:45 behind Aru.

i1213.photobucket.com/albums/cc463/fjhoekie/Reporter%20Application/PCM0039_zps4dd81344.png

The top 10 is completed by Morabito, Seeldraeyers and Rogina.

And after 32 minutes:
i1213.photobucket.com/albums/cc463/fjhoekie/Reporter%20Application/PCM0040_zps0e43ac69.png
It’s poor Rupnik who finishes last, a few minutes after the autobus had passed the line. Surely this is a day he may want to forget as soon as possible.

(Now this was a single stage, so no points have been awarded for sprints and KoMs, therefore the AI acted a bit strange at those sprints, but the race itself was great to watch.)

There are a few of spelling/ grammatical mistakes that I've noticed, but I'm fairly sure most of them (the grammatical ones at least) are due to English being you're second language (am I right in thinking you're Dutch/Friesian).

And as BBl said there are a few Tense issues, e.g. as the riders start their second ascend should be as the riders started their second ascent.

If you want me to PM you with any others I've noticed then I'm happy to, although some of it might seem a little like I'm nitpicking.

Don't worry about these mistakes, plenty of reporters make them, even some of us who are native English speakers.

Maybe a few too many overhead-and-far-away shots, at least that's what I struggled with at the very beginning.

Like stated in my application I would happily make some reports for the ManGame, I think the reports I did for the MiniManGame can be examples of how my reports would look like:

Andalucia: 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5
Hiroshima Circuit

I also did some reporting for other community games, some examples from UCPCL:

Milano-San Remo
Strade Bianche

Just a note to say I am not ignoring anyone who has posted here, or sent me a test report, that I have not responded to yet. I'm just a bit busy to look through them at the moment, but will do so at some point.

Would I be correct in thinking that initial new reporter applications have ended and that more will be added if and when that is needed?

Applications never end for MG reporting. I had put aside some time later actually, to finally sort out those who have been waiting for a response from me.

I now have PCM13 up and running so I am available as a reporter here as well.

I have some good experience from especially "The Ultimate Grand Tour Showdown", UCPCL and EPIC.

Reporters still very much needed! The game will struggle to keep the recent pace up long without more being able to help.

PCM13 is on sale on Steam this weekend if anybody doesn't have the game but is willing to buy it and help out - selling for £3.74 in the UK.
