 La Vie Claire 2014 
Ayubowan everyone! The former Evian-MIAT team has renamed itself and moved to Sri Lanka after its successful 2013 season. Great change is afoot with many riders leaving and a change of focus from Sprinters to a more all round approach.
The return of La Vie Claire to sports sponsorship comes due to Bernard Tapie's desire to return to the public eye - and what better way than through cycling, site of much success for Tapie in the 1980s. But with his criminal record in France, a new country was needed for the team's base.
But why Sri Lanka? The answer is a combination of manager jph's love for the country and the intervention of the Sri Lankan government. As Sri Lanka develops, they aim to showcase the country to the world stage and one way is through sport. After a failed 2018 Commonwealth Games bid, the aim is for the country to host Hambantota 2022. As part of the plan, sports development is key hence our move to support the project. We'll support Sri Lankan cycling and promote the country overseas.
However, the key infrastructure still needs development for a full time Sri Lankan base. As a result, we will remain in Evian during the season, before making use of Hambantota in the European winter - the mountains near Kandy will be key for the climbers when it's too cold to train in Europe. We aim for a full time move to Hambantota for the 2016 season.

With transfer season coming around soon, it is time to look at the possible destinations of the current riders on the team, as well as looking at potential transfer targets. Part 1 here looks at possible future destinations for current Evian-MIAT riders.
Danilo Napolitano
The current star of the team and the best sprinter in the PCT this season is looking to move to greener pastures after new team management decided that sprinting was not a battleground they wished to get involved in. Napolitano is expected to take some sort of pay cut, and if it is enough then a move to the CT could beckon with potential new teams showing interest. However Privatbank, Boeing and Kappa have all apparently showed interest while PT teams Lotto and WIggle are seen as long odds outsiders to take a chance on the aging Italian.
Jose Serpa
Serpa has disappointed this season and as a result he looks to be leaving. Due to his age and declining ability his wage will definitely drop and Mobil have been showing a strong interest in him for some time. However, it is strongly rumoured that he could find himself heading back to the PT with MIlka apparently looking to add to their compliment of Colombian climbers - an unlikely deal but one that would be preferred by many inside the team and by Serpa himself.
Carlos Alexandre Manarelli
The young Brazilian has starred as part of Napolitano's leadout this season and done well when hels been able to sprint for himself. Due to his low wages and having youth on his side he is likely to end up in the CT, although Mobil could be interested as could Boeing should they sign Napolitano, or even Repsol.
Blaise Sonnery
Sonnery will only leave for a large fee. New management likes the concept of a Spinter who can turn Mountain domestique and the feeling in the camp is that Blaise will be with us for the long run, unless we get a huge offer.
Andreas Landa
Serpa's support act has had a solid but unspectacular year and is favouring a move back to his native Norway. Aker and Risa head the race for his signature, but MTN and Boeing have also stated an interest. Whatever happens, he won't be racing for us next season.
Cayetano Sarmiento
The Colombian NC is angling for a move, despite the beautiful NC on offer to him. Likely to follow Serpa wherever he goes, Repsol, Mobil and Milka are all considered options with his national title adding to his value.
Martin Puusepp
The Estonian did little all season and we want rid. Privatbank and Metinvest are considered options, with Boeing again looking at one of our riders on their incredibly long list of targets.
Federico Rocchetti
Rocchetti impressed but lacks the quality to lead at this level. HTC, Kappa and Metinvest are considered potential suitors as are Meiji, while again a certain Bulgarian team is interested...
The Others
Maksym Averin is likely to head back to Ukraine with both Privatbank and Metinvest interested plus the possibility that he could move with Napolitano.
Our Mongolian trio of Tuulhangai, Altanzul and Myagmarsuren are likely to head to Compal for a small fee after MIAT pulled support, although interest has been heard for Altanzul from other teams.
Adrien Petit, Andrea Guardini and Daniel Ricardo Diaz are expected to be loaned to the PT. Petit has interest from Festina and Guardini from VW, while Diaz will go to whoever will take him.
Mustafa Carsi, Roy Goldstein and Isaac Bolivar will remain with the team next season to develop unless we receive a good offer.
Finally, Marco Brus, Jerome Mainard and Romain Bardet are unlikely to be renewed unless teams are interested in securing them on non-free agent wages. |

After part 1 focused on our current riders, part 2 focuses on our transfer targets. It's less in depth and probably predictable but it's here nonetheless.
Firstly we look at the climbers. With this season's trio leaving we plan to rebuild and we have big goals, but a realistic view of what we can achieve. Our biggest target in this department is Romain Sicard, as he is not only French but young enough to lead for a long while yet. However he will command a high wage from the free agency so we have other targets. Thibaut Pinot, Igor Anton and Yasmani Martinez are all other potential leaders, while we are looking towards Steve Morabito, Frederik Kessiakoff and Julian David Arredondo as potential super domestiques.
On the hills we have a long list of target leaders, all of whom we would be happy to be able to sign. Maxime Monfort is the Belgian interloper in our list of Frenchmen; Cyril Gautier, Jeremy Roy and Anthony Roux all pique our interest and we are confident of having the finances to bring one of them on board. As for super domestiques we like the look of Mickael Delage, Wes Sulzberger and Jesus Del Nero but expect to struggle to sign in demand riders like the aforementioned.
Our biggest target is the French TT Superstar Jerome Coppel. He is a signing we want more than words can express, with Look pushing hard for his signature. But in case we fail in our pursuit we will look to Kai Reus as an alternative. Also on our TTing shortlist is Rene Mandri, who we are very keen to sign.
Our sprinting department is to be reformed, losing the big flat sprinters and instead focussing on those who get over hills well so that our sprinters can be useful teammates as well. Enrico Gasparotto, Tiziano Dall'Antonia and Grega Bole are our main targets here.
The remaining spots will be filled by talents, so our targets are unknown until the new DB is released. Questions and comments are welcomed. |

To confirm we have interest in: Napolitano, Manarelli, Averin, Bardet, Rochetti, Puusepp, Landa and Sarmiento... As said on twitter we could very well be called Boeing-Evian for the season 
Will be flying a representative out to Evian in the early days of the transfer period

Mobil manager that Manarelli is not on their shortlist for 2014 season. Obviously, Serpa and Sarmiento are of our interest, but transfer season is the place to talk about that.  |

Bardet interests us a little, but we won't overpay if there's other substantial interest. It's rumoured though that he likes managers from Yorkshire, and he won't go anywhere without one |

Nice presentation. I like the transfer part a bit less though, as it seems to overlap quite heavily with the riders i'm targeting aswell . Something tells me we might meet more then once in the transfers.

Rocchetti's wage would have to go down for us to consider a move as well.

Team Goals Announced!
After last year's success in our rather ambitious goals with two completions and two near misses (1 and 2 places out respectively) we have gone for another set of ambitious goals.

TOP 10 PCT Team Standings
As you can see, our goals are targeted towards TTers. Jerome Coppel is our prime target but we know he will be difficult to sign, so Jacob Fiedler and Kai Reus are also of our interest. As for the team standings goal, we feel that one of our TTer targets in addition to a Stage Racer and some decent puncheur depth should make it possible. But then again, you never know. |

Hmm, interesting to see your race goals, Coppel would probably liked them. The only two things I can say - the first one, it is nice to see Look still interested in their superstar as they were when Coppel was riding in my team. And the second one, I maybe could see a potential to do a deal even with PCT teams but they need to offer me something more than a big money offer, because PT teams can probably give me better offers of pure money and I would probably prefer other things than money in the end... We will see later in the transfer window...

We'll just have to see. Hopefully I can raise some funds through sales and I hope to possibly have some riders who could be of your interest. We will certainly talk

To be honest, it's only the Tour of Britain where I can't see Fiedler (our backup alternative) reaching our goal, I deliberately avoided races like the Tour of the Czech Republic where I'd need a TTer with a decent HIL stat like Coppel. Plus, I think we're in better shape than last year when we had harder goals |

It's definetelly interesting goals. Coppel is going to be hard to get, Reus and Fiedler are definetelly capable though of getting those goals for you. |
