Café Pedro couldn't handle it anymore. So here is a thread to discuss stories, story-writing, story-ideas and whatnot. It's universal so not restricted to one PCM game.
Just a place to swap ideas, get advice, advertise shamelessly on your story...
A nice guide to story-writing (by TMM)! Included: DO & DON'T list, many examples...

Nice idea for a thread!
You could link TMM's story guide in that first post maybe? Not that I agree with all of it

I might do a TDF story on the PS3. Depends on how much time I have and whether I can be bothered though. |

What will you use for screen capture out of interest? Never captured footage from my xbox before. |

I was thinking about making a Topsport Vlaanderen story with a created Flemish young talent added. They would (hopefully) get a few good results and suddenly find themselves eligible for promotion. How will they handle it? Will they remain Flemish-only? Will they get in a few "bigger" names (Van Keirsbulck, Van de Sande, Hermans, Vantomme, ...)? Can they somehow stay in the World Tour?
But I'm probably too lazy to make a story
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

It sounds nice, though. You should try it Big question would be: do we keep talent for once and pay it, or do we have to let it go? |

I have a question
Do you guys write your reports first in Word (or another program) and then copy paste to this site. Or do you write it immediately on this site?

I write out notes by hand as the stage happens, then write direct to site. But i know some people like to use Word and similar programmes. I've done that method a couple of times.

Well, though you think I have 0 experience(I have some actually), I always write(wrote) them in Word.
You can't save the report on the site, so if you automatically log-out or accidentally click it away, you're in trouble.
Also, you can't make a report in advance then. So you can't save up some reports before you start/when you have enough time to do multiple reports.
Using the codes(bold, table) in the report is annoying and takes a bit more work, but is worth it IMO.
So definitely in word.

I use Word, you can easily exit by accident from Daily and all work is gone sometimes.
I also take additional screens during the game with all the tables and names in-game present to help me orientate the situation if I write the report later on. Hence I can look back at them at later date.
I also use a converter, which converts all of my pictures from png. to jpeg. and save plenty of time instead of going by it individually.

I've rarely had problems with losing reports when writing them. If I accidently click away or close the tab, I just go back or re-open and everything is back. The only way I've managed to screw up is when I've closed Firefox by mistake.
Overall, much easier to write directly here I think. Using the bbcodes you want right from the start rather than adding it at the end saves a lot of time.

I write my reports on daily itself while I'm playing using the windows button. I put the [Center-thing in wherever I want a screenshot and add them after playing.
And if I want to save a report for later, I just copy it to word.

Oh, and as for playing the stage - I make short notes in Excel or Notepad.
I don't think I'd be able to write the report alongside playing, like I know some people do (Mre, unless I'm mistaken?).

The windows button while playing seems like a good idea, imo

What converter is that?
I've got an converter, but it can only do individual converts...
